The Sands Motel

Although this is like an old mom & pop motel, rooms are spacious, great parking for trailer. Max's across the street, great food and bar is for locals, kind of like "Cheers" and the Southwest Diner was great breakfast. Friendly town! Not your fancy hotel, but we love to stay here and it's reasonable. We stay enroute to and from Phx, as snowbirders.

Family owned with wonderful guest service. Pet-friendly. Family-friendly. Well stocked with ice in the machines. Lovely room decor with a positive vibe and charming amenities you wouldn’t expect at a motel. Love the retro fridge! We will definitely stay at the Sands Motel again.

Great large space for our trailer, central and out of the way. Rooms are very nicely furnished, clean, we stayed here about 10 years ago and were very happy then also.

easy to park pull throughs...stay to and from as we snowbird in Idaho, if rooms available. not a fancy place, just a place comfy and cute.

We loved the location and the retro styling. The room was clean and the desk staff was great. We were on a long trip so having the laundry room was a really nice amenity! I can't think of anything I would change.

Our room was large! A king bed didn’t crowd it. The kitchen area with a mini frig with separate freezer, coffee pot and a microwave came in handy. The room has been redone with new carpet and flooring. The rooms were quiet with no noise from other rooms. But given that this is a motel with direct access from the lot (nice to be able to pull right into your own space and unload into the suite without stairs or walking a distance), there was some traffic noise from both the street and lot. It got quiet after 10 and wasn't an issue for us, but if you had a small kid trying to sleep early, it might be. The bathroom is small, but clean and functionable. Would definitely stay again if traveling in the area.

The rooms are remodeled. This motel is on the road in “historic” part of town. There are several nice restaurants within 3 minute walk. Parking lot is big and you can part in front of your room which is great for those, like me, riding a motorcycle. And the “price point” is great. Much better quality rooms than typical branded low end hotels.

I had to have a package sent ahead of me for the event I was attending and they received and had it waiting for me upon check in. - The room was clean, cool, and comfortable. I came in during the hottest week where the temps never dropped below 100F, not even in the dead of night, and I never felt unable to sleep from the heat. It was a little stuffy in the bathroom, but nothing unbearable. The little mini fridge was retro and adorable, and I appreciated that it had a sizable freezer section! The shower had excellent pressure and warmed up quickly. - The area was very quiet and comfortable. I expected it to be noisy, being right off a major road, but once I shut the door you could hardly hear a thing. So what could use improvement? - The doors only have one deadbolt. I would have felt a little more secure had I an extra latch to throw like most hotels do. I settled for scooting a heavy cooler in front of the door. - The shower drain could have used a little more attention. The room overall was clean, but the shower drain had some hair and gunk that I wiped up myself. - Parking is a little bit scarce. There were a couple busier nights where I had to park further down in front of other guests' rooms because there wasn't space in front of mine. Other than that, what a wonderful little place I found to stay. I'm glad I chose to stay here! Thanks for an excellent stay!

Clean and quiet. Perfect for a weekend in Boulder City. Close to restaurants and shops.

After reading other reviews, I chose this property based on the good comments. It didn’t disappoint!! Very clean, comfortable, and updated. Would stay here again.

The price was great. It was far away from the Las Vegas Strip. The room was clean and comfortable. And the staff was awesome!

Smelled of disinfectant. Crabby clerk. Fan in the bathroom howled. Sounded like it was self destructing.

The room was very cute. Everthing was clean except the floor. Needed to be swept. Could not walk barefoot without feeling the grit

Clean and tidy, this older motel was perfect for our one night stay. It was also in walking distance to downtown for coffee, breakfast, dinner etc. We were pleasantly surprised by how clean the entire city was.

Very nice clean and quiet motel just off the main street thru town. It appears newly renovated. Our unit with twin queens had a separate room which had a refrigerator freezer coffee maker and microwave. The room was quiet, even when a douche bag came in after 11 pm slamming doors and talking loud we just heard muffled noise. The central location to many restaurants was a plus. When we return we will gladly return.

Great little hotel with an updated look in the rooms while keeping its' 1960's exterior look.

The place is newly renovated and has a great vintage inspired vibe!

My last stay was better. My room this stay wasn’t great. The TV had problems and the toilet bowl was loose. The shower head was way too low to enjoy a good shower. All that said, I will probably try them again in the future.

Large rooms with good bedding.

The room was comfortable, clean, and nicely equipped. My only criticism is the bathroom is small, with a tiny unlit shower stall. Considering how spacious the room is, the bathroom surprised us.

This motel was great, at least in the room I stayed in. It was really big, a firm bed, and a cute little fridge. The lights flickered a little bit but straightened out after remaining on. The bathroom had a fan that struggled a bit and I did have a bit of struggle figuring out the tap on the shower. But overall the stay was fantastic and the lady did ask if there was anything she can do for me when she caught me outside.

Super friendly and very nicely equipped motel room. Cool style. Only minus for very loud AC.

Recently fully renovated old school motel. Nothing fancy but everything is tidy and functional. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Acceptable linens. Noisy AC. With the TV volume maxed out I could barely hear Ryan Reynolds in some lame computer game movie. The poor AC had to run all night; it was 113f. The neighborhood feels safe enough. It is under transition. Some places are boarded up. Others in disrepair. Some newly renovated. It would feel sketchy, but there’s literally no one else around because of the season and heat.

Theresa was amazing! We needed a pet-friendly room when they only had a single (non-pet-friendly room available). She was able to catch someone before they checked in and switched rooms for us. She was the bright point in our son's very harrowing trip. Thank you so much!

I checked in late. The gal who checked me in was very friendly and super quick. I was tired, so I sure do appreciate her making checkin efficient and fast. I was sound asleep in no time. Thanks again.

Very nice and easy check in. Clean rooms and AC ready when you get to the room, convenient during the heat when you have kids after a long drive. Had a great time and chat with the receptionist. Friendly and accommodating. Will book again if I have to. Will 100% recommend.

The receptionist was so helpful I had some issues with my credit card and she was willing to give me a discount for cash. We couldn’t have had better help

I had a wonderful stay at this motel! The welcome was incredibly warm, the staff were always smiling, friendly, and ready to help. They even let me check in earlier than expected, which I really appreciated. The room was clean, super comfortable, and had everything I needed. The location is also perfect, just next to the Hoover dam. I highly recommend this place!

Nice basic accommodations with a retro vibe. Walking distance to several dining options. The ladies at the check-in desk were super nice.

An excellent option for visiting Las Vegas if you don’t mind driving around 35 minutes to visit the strip. Boulder City is a great example of Americana the way things used to be. Really liked this motel with its basic retro feel. No frills but comfortable beds and easy parking and best of all be able to relax. We hope to stay here in the future.

Great place to stay between Vegas & the Hoover Dam! Bouldier City is a laid back stop with alot of charm. Many restaurants to choose from, even a couple of craft breweries to eat & drink at! The motel was clean, roomy & had refrigerator & microwave & air conditioning! The folks at the front desk were friendly & helpful! Loved the convenience of having the car right oustide our room so we could repack our car after spending a few nites here! Looking for a good deal for the money...this is it!

Passing though and kind of last minute pickup. Good location lots of food options nearby. Quiet. Worked out well for me

I was looking for a weekend away from Las Vegas and went to Boulder City. This motel is in the Historic Downtown and within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and bars. The room was quiet and clean and the lady at the front desk was very helpful
