Very old hotel small room the shower struggled in the morning to supply water and there is no lift so carrying bags up steep steps is not for elders. Great location reception very helpful breakfast was good. We were told there was no lift so it was our decision.

Small but typical for European hotels.No elevator could be a problem for some travelers. Saving grace was the full English breakfast.My room #20 was up about 40 steps and faced the main street so was a bit noisy but tolerable. Spent 8 nights and would stay again when the need arises.

This is a decent standard hotel for London. The room was a good size for two people and we looked out onto the garden area across the road which was lovely. We were on third floor, no lift which is not unusual for London, but be prepared for the stairs! The area overall is very central, close to many food options and two tube stations. Hotel breakfast basic but good and priced well. Everything clean, bed firm but fine. Water pressure at times a bit dodgy. Overall good for price and location.

Property is nice and close to Kings Cross. Its an old building so theres no elevator and the shower gets everything wet in the bathroom. Staff is friendly and the beds were comfortable.

Stayed one night before taking the train north. Room was small and there was no air conditioning, but the bed was comfortable enough and the bathroom was fine. Breakfast was very nice and gave me a good head start on my travels. Staff were friendly and competent. My room was on the top floor, which meant I had to carry my luggage up and down several flights of stairs.

A small family owned hotel in a good location, very close to the tube for easy access to the city. Lots of restaurants and pubs close by walking distance. There is no lift so if you are on the upper floor it can be a hike but doable. The structure was built roughly 220 years ago and they have done a great job upgrading and maintaining it. Breakfast was good and convenient.

Stayed in the smallest single for one night. As stated, it is small, but perfectly functional (there is even space to open the suitcase on the floor, which is not the case with every small London hotel room). Very clean, particularly the bathroom was immaculate. Will visit again.

Really enjoyed our stay. Great friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Hotel spotlessly clean. And considering it was fully booked there was no noise. Cooked breakfast was delicious and plentiful. My sister and I both needed gluten free breakfasts (medical) this was catered for-we were even provided with our own gluten free toaster. Now…as much as I don’t like to be negative, we had a room right on the top floor as originally there were 3 of us staying in a 3 bed room which was perfect-but…. the shower was absolutely hopeless. I realise that this is a very old property with old plumbing and on the third floor but there must be a way to provide a decent shower-when you’ve been wandering around London all day you want to have a decent shower and this was little more than a hand held shower hose with a tiny trickle of water (at least it was nice and warm so a bonus point there) The only other thing to mention was the catches on the windows needed a little attention (old windows I know but a little repair required as I was frightened the window would break) however, the windows did open and it was nice to get some fresh air. On the whole a wonderful stay and would stay again but a better shower needed please. Thank you

The room felt as small as a coffin, and the sink was barely the size of a lunchbox — but I could live with that. The receptionist was quite unfriendly, but I let that go too. What really disgusted me was discovering a clump of hair inside the towel I had been using for several days. I took a photo as evidence, along with some other disturbing shots. Honestly, it was revolting. I rarely write reviews, but this experience really crossed the line. I won’t attach the photo here — I don’t want to make anyone vomit.

It was an inferior experience, at least to say. We've been asked to provide credit card details and a copy of the ID to be taken. The payment was already made through Expedia, the request to hold the bank and personal details was unreasonable, and we declined to provide it. The room was not thoroughly clean, and the bedding was stained. We decided not to stay, but to our surprise, the receptionist refused to check us out and process a refund. The owner was more concerned about where we were originally from than resolving the problem. Racist and inappropriate insults were made towards me and my son, and we left without a refund. Avoid at any cost!

Staff friendly, room itself large and room and bathroom were clean. However there is no double or secondary glazing so as the room was on the front of the building it wasn’t a quiet room. There was also no desk in the room to work on so room not really suitable for someone there on business. Public areas felt a little tired but also appreciate it’s an old building. Well located for Kings Cross St Pancras station.

Unfortunately, despite spending a fair amount of time deciding on a hotel, this one let me down. The positives- it was a five minute walk from a subway station, it was surrounded by excellent restaurants and several convenience/grocery stores and was close to both the British library and the British Museum. My brief interactions with hotel staff were good. The room itself was reasonably modern and quite clean. The negatives were many. Uneven, noisy stairs. Loud door locks. I thought I might’ve been living in a closet under the stairs similar to Harry Potter. This unfortunately was a 12 day stay.The room barely fit the twin bed, let alone an open suitcase. The bed was too firm. The room was often too warm with no way to temperature control. The bed had a duvet, but no sheet. I had many sleepless nights, partly due to the discomfort from the bed, but also just from excessive noise. The window to the room was very old and did not shut fully and because I had a room facing the street, you could hear people talking and sometimes yelling at all hours of the night as there was a pub around the corner. I’m used to hearing a little hallway noise at most hotels, but the walls were so thin between the neighbouring rooms that I could hear the guest next to me using the toilet, and I don’t mean the toilet flushing. The shower could at best be described as lukewarm, and I dreaded having to face a cold shower. There were no face cloths, no tissues. The bath towels were very thin.

This property was near everything we needed. Close proximity to Taverns, Cafe's, Transportation, and restaurants. The room was a bit smaller than expected, especially for a family of 4. I little noisy as we were partly underground and the Underground transportation could be heard. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. A small fan in the room, and no A/C. We were aware when booking, although being on a street/below street level room with no screens, it was not safe to have the window opened. It was clean.

I stayed in a junior double room. It was likely the smallest room I’ve ever seen in a hotel. The bed was very tight. Heat was rationed during the morning and evening. The bathroom was poorly designed with minimal space for toiletries. The water pressure was too low. The sink, which was half way into the shower, was so small and narrow I ended up soaked shaving, brushing my teeth or washing my face. No wash cloths provided, no hand towels, no tissues, no extras. There is no elevator. I am 74 and had to lug a 50 pound suitcase up 4 flights of steps. Only one suitcase can be opened at a time space wise. The bed was small, but fairly comfortable. The staff varied from just ok to somewhat pleasant. No safe in the room. Tea maker, no coffee maker. Breakfast was decent, but the room very crowded. It was convenient to Euston Station (the reason I booked it). It was noisy due to old windows.

Enjoyed our stay at The George. Booked the junior double which the lady on reception warned us was very small! Yes it was small, mostly due to being a thin room so not much space around the bed, but plenty of space away from it for 2 of us to get ready etc. Pleasantly surprised with size of bathroom also, but let down by the shower. Very weak water pressure made it barely worth the effort. There is no lift so lugging a suitcase up 6 flights of stairs wasn't the best, especially when the last 2 didn’t have an handrail. Room was a good temperature. All staff we dealt with were welcoming and helpful. Wi-Fi signal strong, even on the top floor! All in all, a good value stay for a London hotel so close to ‘the sights’.

We had an amazing stay. The only reason why I did not give 5 stars for staff and service was due to the lady who checked us in. She was rude, unwelcoming, and really set a negative tone for the stay. However. The second morning when we went to pay for breakfast, we were greeted by the sweetest most kind lady ever. She was extremely welcoming and she completely flipped our perception of the service around. It was disappointing to have such a negative first interaction with the lady at the front desk, but we were pleased that for the rest of our stay we did not see her again and everyone else was so welcoming.

Booked through Hotels.com so hotel took the view any problems had to be dealt with by Hotels.com and not by them. Shame as otherwise a basic but an OK hotel. Charged for things I did not have and they said they could not refund me but everything had to go through Hotels.com and to claim via them. Hotel clearly not happy I used third party booking so used this as an excuse not to do anything for me, clearly not interested in being helpful at all. I was not happy they had taken my money that was not due to them. Disappointing attitude to clients and I would not stay again.

Really friendly service, good value hotel close to St Pancras. Comfortable, modern single room with plenty of hanging space and tea/coffee making facilities. Added bonus of conditioner in the bathroom (IYKYK!). Set on a quiet square away from the main roads but only a short walk to the station and access to attractions. I would definitely stay here again

As a small business owner I am cost conscious and time is precious. The George Hotel is in such a great location for public transport, restaurants and even shopping. The hotel staff are welcoming, friendly and resourceful. Everything has always run like clockwork for me. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is good value with GF options and dairy free options. I will return!

Stayed in the lower ground room so can only speak for this and can maybe assume this is only a problem for them. The room must be just above one of the tube lines as you can feel the vibrations and hear the train running every few minutes night and morning. If you're a light sleeper I'd avoid these rooms at all costs.

Lovely, clean hotel, with an absolutely super American chap on Reception when we arrived. But the beds were uncomfortable and had such flat pillows. And the breakfast was virtually all cold and/or gone by 8.30-9.00-ish.

We had a pleasant time at George hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Good location near both st. Pancras train station and Russel square underground. On the negative side it was to crowdy at breakfast. Small room, narrow between tables. It had been better if they had had "slot times" for the guest; early or later breakfast. The breakfast time was rather short: 07.30- 09.00.

Very tidy place with modern finishes in bathroom, fast wifi, tasty breakfast buffet for a fee in a cute dining space off the lobby. The hotel is in a charming, walkable neighborhood with a small park directly across so there are lovely trees out the window. It is an older building so can get drafty and no elevator but the radiator keeps things comfortable and there are only a few floors. Staff are communicative, friendly, and go out of their way to help. Linens were clean and mattress decent. We stayed here to be in walking distance to the British Museum and it was perfectly situated for that. Charming, homey place, and a reasonable price!

Had an excellent stay at the George. All the staff were very friendly & helpful. Clean & Great breakfast ! It’s in a great location few minutes walk from Euston station, lots of eateries just around the corner. You must try Mine Mane !! Beautiful little restaurant excellent food & service. Thank you

I loved my room and excellent service from reception and kitchen. Their breakfast ends too early and one of that staff was a bit pushy to get me out. They really try hard and I recommend the hotel.
