Basic hotel but very clean and close to both Grassmarket and Princess Street. We had an early check in thank goodness as check in takes a long time. Your room isn't automatically cleaned every day. You have to ask to get it done and ask for neew towels. Continental breakfast is OK and if you have had a tough day sightseeing you can get light bites and a drink at the bar in the evening.

The room was extremely small. there was no privacy in the bathroom because of a glass door that had a gap in it. this room was not conducive for two people. The hallway carpets were not vacumed.

This hotel had the worst air conditioning system I’ve ever dealt with. At night it would shut off after approximately an hour. With the heavy blanket on the bed, you would wake up sweating in the middle of the night. To get the system back running, a light had to be turned on to show the system someone was in the room. This process repeated throughout the night. I asked the staff about it after the first night of not getting sleep due to the room being warm and they said they would override it to run throughout the night. Needless to say this was not done. 3 nights of constantly waking up to turn a light on just to get the room to cool off. In addition, it would take many minutes for the AC to turn on. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great location Bed is big but takes up most of the room. The room could have been cleaner. All in all, we had a good stay as location was the most important. Could easily walk to all the Edinburgh attractions we wanted to see.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay. I will say the carpets throughout the property could use a good cleaning, and the one in my room was a little worse for wear. The climate control in the rooms was a little difficult, too, and even though I had the room at the coldest temperature, it still felt really warm and stuffy. The staff were really fantastic, and they answered my questions and helped me whenever I needed something. Great location!
