The location was good for access from the train station. The best thing was the helpfulness of the manager who gave us a map pointing out particular things of interest in Venice for us and taking so much time over this. Also useful was baggage storage after we checked out so we could spend the morning sightseeing before we left.

Great choice in Venice! Great room, location, and value. Clean, modern, large rooms with AC, high ceilings, good bathroom and strong shower. (Steep steps up to room, but that's the case for all of Italy.) Very convenient location: short walk from Marcuola-Casino water taxi stop (convenient to train and bus), just behind small square off popular street with many restaurants and shops. Friendly, helpful staff and overall excellent -- get a paper map! (Note the entrance is under a dark archway, so it's easy to miss.)

We had an excellent stay at Al Portico in Venice. The location is perfect, close to the train station and within walking distance of Venice’s main attractions, while still being in a quiet and charming area. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, making it a great place to relax after a day of exploring. A special thank you to Nicola, whose outstanding hospitality made our stay truly memorable. From check-in to departure, he was incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive, always ready with recommendations and assistance. His professionalism and genuine care for guests made us feel welcome throughout our stay. Highly recommended!
