The downstairs lobby is fantastic. The free breakfast makes it even a better deal. The staff is very friendly. The regular rooms are quite tiny, but the bed is very comfortable. Great shower. Highly recommend. I will be going back

Very good location, easy walk to both east side and west side subways. So getting around NYC is easy. Rooms are very small, but clean and comfortable, and feel historic in a good way. Bar and lobby area was very popular. HVAC worked well. Excellent and safe location.

The hotel has kept its old charm, but is updated. Our room was tiny, but we knew that going in (it was called a “petite queen”). The bed was very comfortable and we did not hear any noise. There is a parking garage directly across the street ( parking is discounted for hotel guests). Breakfast was included, and the bar/restaurant area is very pretty. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Hotel is tastefully furnished and amenities welcomed. This is one of the best areas in NY to stay with walking to the best restaurants and areas. The original building is beautiful and worth the resulting small rooms and slow elevator. We’ll be back.

It's a beautiful historic hotel with some old world charm. The rooms are small, but are beautifully decorated. The lobby is comfortable and has a good ambiance. The place this hotel lacks is the service staff. I will exclude the front desk staff and the host from breakfast, but the wait staff in this hotel breakfast brought my rating down from 5 to 3 stars. I normally am understanding if someone is having a rough day or if the breakfast area had been extremely busy. However, it was a quiet morning and it took over 10 mins without being greeted after being seated for the included breakfsat when we finally flagged someone down. He was curt and told us our waiter was coming. Another 5 mins goes by without any greeting, water, etc or any waiter coming by so we ask someone else. They are also rude and tell us "she's coming". Yikes. Neither even bothered to come to the table to ask what we needed or offer water, etc. The staff is rude. End of story.

The bed was very uncomfortable and the shower was not clean. Mold in the corners, needed a good scrub. The rooms are incredibly tiny. The complimentary mini bar was a nice surprise (non alcohol items) and the complimentary breakfast was great too! Had dinner there as well and that was also great. Nice cozy fireplace in lobby bar a great touch !

Not thrilled about the large clump of dark hair in the drain that I found when I got in for my first shower of our stay. I brought it to the attention of the front desk who asked that I email a photo and told me management would reach out. Never heard from management or anyone about it. For the price of the stay I expected better on cleanliness front and service.

Location is excellent with great restaurants and shops and subway stations nearby. The rooms are very small and cramped making it difficult to move around and hence comfort is compromised. The bathroom is efficiently designed but the shower doors are designed poorly as it floods. Also noted molds on the tiles. Service was great and staff were nice.

The Marlton has quaint little rooms, great for a short trip to New York. The location is perfect with so many things to do close by or a short train ride away. If you have large luggage, this is not the place to stay. My parter and I just had carry on luggage and it was difficult to find space. I would have given a higher rating, except that we consistently had to kill cockroaches. It was off putting and unfortunate.

The smallest room didn’t really have enough space for two people’s luggage, but for just me it was fine. Amazing to get hot water out of the tap within 5 seconds in a hotel. Wow! Bed was comfy. Loved how snacks were complimentary in October. Front desk staff great and the ‘lounge’ ambience downstairs was really inviting.

I really liked my stay here. It was so convenient for a three night stay in NYC. The other reviews are correct - my room was tiny. I wouldn’t recommend it for a couple but as a solo traveller it was fine. Kinda annoying having no storage space or a desk. Given the cost of the room, I would’ve expected there to at least be complimentary water in the rooms but everything was chargeable. I loved being so closed to Washington Square Park and having loads of great restaurants/cafes within walking distance. It’s a great hotel for a comfortable stay where you’ll be spending most of your day sightseeing.

I'm leading with the facts - this is by far and away the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in on this planet. That being said, it was perfect for one night in town for work. The staff was wonderful. The bar, the fireplace, coffee, the vibe was fantastic. The room was clean and super cute. The finishes were nice, everything was elegant. You're not at a holiday inn and you feel it. Would absolutely stay again in a heart beat.

Great hotel. My only complaints would be the size and layout of the bathroom. Not the most comfortable to reach for the toilet paper on the wall, underneath the sink. They also don't have any tissues, very little, if any, counter space for toiletries.

Great older hotel with nice decor and bar in convenient location near Washington square park. Room was small but I was aware of that and it suited our needs. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was a good size with a nice shower. The only small issue was that we could not control the air conditioner on either ac or fan mode so it was a little warmer than we would have preferred.

Very small rooms but that's OK if you're planing to be out roaming the city most of the day. Very very noisy - we were in a corner room and could hear the doors slamming on either side of us at all hours. Bring your ear plugs!

The room might be the smallest room I’ve ever stayed in in NYC. Two twin beds with about 10 inches between them and about 15” from the end of the beds to the wall. That’s it. It was also loud. It’s a beautiful old building but not for sleeping. The bathroom was also very small with nowhere to set your toiletries and the little closet in the room had some cubby holes that wouldn’t fit one pair of shoes. The shower was modern, a good size and very nice. The included breakfast was fine but nothing special.

Our stay was good despite me telling multiple people that I was proposing to my now fiancé no one took note and even said simply congratulations. I mentored not only over the phone 3 days prior to check in but when I arrived. We even had dinner at the hotel after service was slow and as if we weren’t there. I got up multiple times to get the waiters attention. We loved to vibe and look of the hotel and would deff go back but the attention to detail and customer service needs to be attended to.

Everyone I interacted with was amazing, and especially Samantha at the front desk! She was so helpful and sweet, and was able to help me with my issue. Wonderful stay, and my partner and I are looking forward to now having this as our "go-to" place to stay, now that we've moved out of the city!

Great location and the hotel in general has a very cool vibe, Parisian/old New York maybe. Staff could be friendlier and more hospitable though. My daughter and I returned after dinner where three employees were standing in front of the entrance. We were surprised that they didn’t acknowledge us or even offer to open the door which they were standing in front of.

Put me in a room with two construction elevators for major project next door right outside my window. Since I arrived late at night, wasn't aware of situation. Awakened by loud noises from elevator and workers very early the next morning. Could not work or Zoom. When I complained at check-out, woman at front desk was surly and indifferent. Later, man gave small credit but that did not make up for inconvenience and lack of sleep (or her attitude).

The location of the hotel was convenient for me but not until the last day I checked out due to a parade that blocked many streets making it hard for me to catch a ride (while hauling luggage) to the airport. The breakfast service was slow and I had to request assistance. So I decided against it for the rest of my week. Also, my room was stuffy up until the last day I was there only because other rooms complained about the ac system on my floor. Overall, I was disappointed with this hotel.

Very good location, easy walk to both east side and west side subways. So getting around NYC is easy. Rooms are very small, but clean and comfortable, and feel historic in a good way. Bar and lobby area was very popular. HVAC worked well. Excellent and safe location.

We love The Marlton! The rooms vary in size, so pay attention when booking, and do not expect a big, spacious room no matter what. Do except a clean, cozy, well appointed room no matter what the size. The lounge and restaurant are lively, and serve tasty food and drinks. Staff throughout the hotel is always wonderful. We love the location for shopping, dining, and subway access.

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The staff in the restaurant was extremely welcoming and friendly. Love the continental breakfast which is included with the room. Great choices in the room snacks tray and mini bar. I was very impressed with one particular staff member who helped me with my luggage and arranged a car for me to the airport.

The bed was very uncomfortable and the shower was not clean. Mold in the corners, needed a good scrub. The rooms are incredibly tiny. The complimentary mini bar was a nice surprise (non alcohol items) and the complimentary breakfast was great too! Had dinner there as well and that was also great. Nice cozy fireplace in lobby bar a great touch !

The location, breakfast, lounge were superb! It’s a true NYC experience, small rooms, but hey, all the fun is outside the room. Walkable to great restaurants, shopping, Wash Park. After a full day the lounge has every cocktail or wine imaginable. We will stay there again!❤️

I have stayed in the Marlton Hotel several times . I love it for its location, friendliness, cleanliness and comfort. My one gripe is the service in the dining area. It’s appalling. It has been like that since I started staying in the hotel . I would be shocked now if it changed . There are certainly enough staff but there doesn’t seem to be anyone in charge . The staff all run around like headless chickens. The breakfast menu is also jaded . Apart from that I always enjoy my stay

I've stayed in many NYC hotels. And even by NYC standards, this was a TINY room. Could barely maneuver around the room it was so small. The window also had a curtain that was barely hanging on and wasn't large enough to block the window so light was pouring into the tiny room at all times. That said, the location was fantastic and the staff was great. But I wouldn't stay here again due to the size and state of the room.
