Aztec Motel Wildwood Crest Beach

Although Chitu (front desk staff) was nice & Expedia offered no pre pay; our stay was not very relaxing. We requested our room be cleaned by housekeeping each day we were there - and it was not visited by the cleaning staff, even once! I had to empty our garbages & put outside - and had to look for the staff to ask for towels. The property is very outdated & in disrepair It doesn’t look like they want to update the pool area or other common areas. The grill did not work & the lobby area by the coffee machine was untidy & unsanitary, very sad and unacceptable. We paid well over $1000 + and did not get services comparable to that high fee. The website is inaccurate & deceiving, sadly. Only 1 positive - the shower was updated & the beds were comfortable. But the couch in our room was old & dirty Our room looked liked it didn’t get painted since the building was built. We deserve a partial refund. Thank you for listening. Sincerely The DeFrancos

Room was very clean. Staff were friendly . The one thing I didn’t like is that you had to request your room to be cleaned a day ahead. I think the room should be cleaned daily. Bed was comfortable. Good Wi-Fi . Bathrooms are small and the sink is on the outside of the bathroom. Pool area was clean but the lounge chairs and tables can use a power wash. Parking was a little tricky. I had to park on the street two nights as there wasn’t enough space in the lot. Otherwise it was a very decent stay if you’re on a budget.

Last minute overnight stay. Original plans fell through. Nice place. Clean. No frills but perfectly fine for a last minute stay. Only complaint- parking is very tight and scarce. But otherwise it was great! Would use again!

It was a great trip, room was good not outstanding. A block away from the beach, would have liked if the walk to the beach was closer. Very small pool. Not made for adults, perfect for kids. Overall great place to stay. Very affordable. That’s a great plus

I was pleasantly surprised with the Aztec. Honestly was looking for the cheapest room closest to the boardwalk for the 4th of July for a group trip and wasn’t expecting anything great, other than the bed to sleep in. My friends stayed somewhere directly off the boardwalk and honestly I was wayyyy happier with the Aztec. Free parking, the rooms were basically the same… only problem was we didn’t get all the TV channels but I also never complained to the staff so that’s on me. The pool was great, the outside patio for the rooms was perfect, our neighbors were friendly, the vibe was right… I didn’t feel as warm and welcomed at the “nicer” (read: more expensive) boardwalk hotel. I’d stay here EVERY time over somewhere directly on the boardwalk.

Room was fine. Good location for many things. Wasnt enough parking. Had to park on street one night. When there was enough, parking was tight. Outside patio needs work.

The room was overall dirty. We went into the bathroom and there was a puddle of water on the floor so we used our towels to dry it. If we stayed longer than one night I would have complained and definitely found a new hotel.

Very clean

The location is fantastic - The accommodations were fine, nothing fancy, but there were ants on the counter and at least one on my bed. I didn't like that -- the front desk refunded 20% of the bill, but I would have rather had an ant free room. Thank you.

The room was very clean, the only issue was the bathroom door needs to be fixed. It does not stay shut.

This is an older motel. Very clean and a great location. Great for a night or two and prices are wonderful. Just not super updated. But very clean

The man at the front when we checked in was very friendly and welcoming. Check in was quick and easy. Hotel was clean upon arrival. HOWEVER I won’t be going back. Check in at 3pm and check out at 11am for over $400 for one night is too much. But worst was the bugs (not sure of kind) all over the bed. Live crawling bugs that we didn’t notice till the morning when we had the windows open and it was light in the motel room.

The room was filthy. Dust all over. Grease on the tiny little stove that had clearly not been clean. Only the bathroom light and light in back of room workerd. The fan and lamp both did nothing. The sink was slow to drain, the toilet was slow to flush and needed to have the handle held to fully empty. Absolutely horrible. Even the safety chain on the door was practically rusted though.

I was shocked by the condition of the property. At some point upgrades were made, but they are definitely needed again. The cheap laminate floor is peeling. Wall patches are very visible (plywood nailed to wall). The door was possibly the original from 1960. The main ceiling light was simply removed with hardware visible. The bathroom was definitely from 1960. The sink was stained and the faucets were corroded. The linens were clean and beds comfortable, but we never got maid service on our 2-night stay. We also found a pair of abandoned shoes in the room. And the room STANK! There was no coffee maker and the lobby never bothered to make any while we were there...the coffee area was available but unstocked. This hotel is close to the boardwalk but it was very lackluster. The hotel room smelled like a basement, hair was on the bed and the bathroom definitely seen better days. I had to go to Walmart to purchase shower cleaner and Lysol. Had to wipe down everything thoroughly. The bed was hard and some of the worst sleep I had in my life. Parking lot is tiny. But the convenient factor is right near the end of the boardwalk and a pool.

For a short stay, it was fine, but there were a few issues that definitely need attention. The bathroom was a bit of a letdown. There was no ventilation, which made it feel stuffy. The walls were in need of repair, and there wasn’t a towel bar to hang anything up. Also, no place to put shampoo, soap, or other toiletries in the shower—something as simple as a shelf would have made a big difference. Towels had a lot of lint on them, which covered us completely. We had to use a beach towel to wipe it all off. Not ideal. The room felt a bit dingy and wasn’t super clean. The bed was fine, though a bit on the firm side, and the pillows were too flat. The layout was strange, especially in the bathroom—sitting on the toilet felt cramped, as you’re almost face-to-face with the wall. It was a corner room, so it seems they just tried to use up every inch of space. The fridge worked well, which was a plus. The location was convenient, and the check-in staff was really friendly and helpful. The person at check-in gave great directions to the parking lot behind the building. At checkout, there was no staff around, which felt a bit odd. I just left the key on the desk with another customer who was also checking out. It worked for a one-night stay, but I wouldn't have been comfortable staying longer without those issues being fixed.

Room are small , bathroom extremly small . But its fine . You dont stay in your room.all day. Its 2 street from the beach . Really close . Not so far from the boardwalk . I would never pay 300 400$/night . But 100 150 yes .

Staff was very nice, but I booked a queen room and it was certainly much, much smaller and in a corner with no patio room to move. Asked to be moved since there was vacancies but was not . Very clean room, just incredibly small for the price.

Had trouble with the Wifi. Brought my laptop for work but was unable to connect for most of my stay. Had to go off the property with the laptop to be able to connect to the wifi.

Location was great. Room layout was fine, nice kitchenette, great shower. Two problems with the room, our entry door was very hard to open and there are not enough power outlets.

The staff was friendly and helpful

The power outage on all Wildwood Island due to Fire at Sub Station. The Manager went above & beyond to make sure we were all okay. Would stay here again

Manager and staff were pleasant and accommodating. Great location for beach and shopping. Property was clean but a bit run down.

Our room door got stuck, the dead bolt broke, and I had to call 911 to be freed from the room. There was no phone in the room to reach the front desk and there was no escape other than the front door. This hotel should undergo a renovation and a major safety inspection. I can not say anything good about the hotel other than the night security guard was very helpful and refunded my money. I could not stay there--not even in another room.

Ok place well located for the beach

Classic Wildwood Crest motel. Clean and Friendly. Room had king bed, kitchenette, couch and outside seating. 1 Block off the beach made getting to the boardwalk easy. Nearby restaurants and deli/convenient stores. The area has many similar 50/60's motels, so the area has a unique feel. Don't look for Big Chain Hotel features. Enjoy a "down the shore" experience.

Its a nice place with a bit of a retro feel. They also don't require a 3 night minimum! Just far enough away from the boardwalk to keep it quiet. Close enough to walk or bike up onto the boardwalk.

The Room was self contained, clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable. Asked for another blanket because I was cold. Was no problem at all. The Door was hard to open and close. But had 3 locks for the door. A block from the board walk. 20 min walk to The Ferris wheel and carnival activities along the boardwalk My last night, 4th night, was noisy person in the room next door, yelling on he's phone and walking up and down the balcony, late at night
