The hotel is only a 2 minute walk from the Train station and about the same to the bus stop to Machu Picchu. They offer a breakfast buffet and have an in-house restaurant. Our room had a gorgeous view of the river.

Scary good view. Clean with execlllent sound proofing. Bonus, an elevator. Had super early passes to machupicchu so they packed us a lunch since we would be leaving before breakfast.

Got a room on 6th floor with direct view to the river in the middle of town. Clean spacious room in the middle of town. Was pleasantly surprised. Hotel also kept our bags after checkout while we went exploring.

This place has a very convenient location. Walking distance from plenty restaurant options, the train and bus stations. Staff were very nice but not well informed about stuff around the area. WIFI was terrible and hot water wasn’t an option.

Great location for an easy stay in Machu Picchu Pueblo. We could see people lining up for the bus from the window in the morning, and while the noise from the street is audible in the room, the hotel itself was really quiet. Staff was great and the light breakfast with hot and fresh scrambled eggs was appreciated. Shower was luke-warm at best, and the bed was very comfortable.

First and the most important one was the moulding on the wall of washroom at the room 504 and also on the hallway which is very important and has a health issue,there were no hand towel.there is no soap dispenser beside a sink, soap was too small and bad quality , no safe in the room, you don’t know where you should keep your money and passports for breakfast after 8 o’clock there was no bread left and you have to pay for extra egg

We arrived at 9 PM, exhausted, for a one-night stay before our early departure to Machu Picchu at 6:30 AM. Upon arrival, we discovered a very loud festival happening in the soccer field next to the hotel. When I asked the front desk lady when it would end, she assured me it would be over by 11 PM. Realizing we couldn’t sleep with the noise, we left the hotel and returned around 11 PM, only to find the festival still in full swing. We asked the front desk lady again, and she said it would end by midnight. We went to our room and tried to rest until then, but the noise was so intense the entire room was shaking. The festival actually lasted until 3 AM, and the front desk staff left at midnight! We managed only an hour or two of sleep. If we had been informed the festival might continue past midnight, we would have chosen a different hotel. As a result, our one-night stay for much-needed rest was completely ruined. On a less important note, the room was dusty, and since the windows were left open before our arrival, it was filled with mosquitoes and flies that we had to deal with. Additionally, the breakfast was quite unappealing.

Room was a makeshift for three people when it was actually fo 2 people at the most. One of the beds had reddish stain on the bedsheet. Amenities were poor - no heating, no hair dryer, breakfast was very basic & with limited time. Location wss reasonable. Would not recommend this hotel as location does not matter due the town being very small.

O quarto é bem pequeno, mas pra uma noite tudo bem. O problema foi no banheiro, quando tomei banho o banheiro alagou, a cortina não dava conta da água. Chegou a entrar água no quarto e um pouco até no corredor. O café da manhã é excelente! Os pães uma delícia. A cidade de Machu Picchu Pueblo é lindinha! Machu Picchu é uma experiência que deve ser feita na vida! Espetacular!!!

This is not really an hotel. The room we had felt like a place you would rent if you were working in the area and had to bring your small appliances. The door lock was unsafe, directly in the handle and you had to triple check if the door was staying closed before leaving. The only air circulation come from a window and ours was on the side of the local gym. We only had one mini roll of toilet paper without any backups. This is for one night stay at affordable price but don’t expect more than the price you pay. There was an openned electric wall box exposing the wires. The good things were the girl doing the check-in, the breakfast and they accept to keep our luggage for the day during our hike. So to the owners stop cutting corners and finish the cement in the shower, add proper locks on top of the door knobs, close exposes wires, plaster the wall and get air circulation in the rooms.

This place is in a great location and appeared to be a great option. We were disappointed as the rooms are very small, towels scratchy and ragged, and just lacked the extras I would hope for at this price point. We stayed 2 nights and our rooms were never serviced. The hotel also advertises laundry services which were non existent. We ended up using a laundry service down the street that dyed our white clothes pink. I would not stay here again.

Nice location on top of a hill so plan to trek every time you go out and come back to your room. I had room on 5th floor with great view. No full length mirror, safe, or safety lock on door. Would not stay again for those three reasons.

We were warmly greeted when we arrived and checked into our room. Two of the walls were floor to celing windows and what a view of the river and mountains. Breakfast was delicious. Friendly atmosphere. Special mention goes out to two great stall. Flor and Felira. Thank you both. You are awesome.

We booked this hotel for a quick stop-over to visit Machu Picchu. We were disappointed to know that breakfast is from 5-8:30 am ONLY. Also disappointed to know that they require a 10 am check-out. We had late access to visit Machu and any minute (check-out) past 10 a.m. required 60 soles additional charge. Breakfast was sub-par. They did cook us fresh eggs and we had some rolls so I suppose it was satisfactory for what we paid for the room rate. The only upside is the proximity to the buses and train station. Its a very short and easy walk. There is a dance club next door and was booming bass until 2 a.m. That was annoying as well. Overall, I'd look for another hotel next time. If you're looking for a budget place to stay then maybe this is your place. For $50 USD don't expect too much....a bed to sleep in, a shower that was lukewarm, and a sub par breakfast. Just make sure you check out before 10 a.m. And bring your ear plugs if you pay extra to face the river and dance club.

It was great! We checked in at 11pm, they were waiting for us, they arranged the transportation from the airport to Ollaytaytambo, personnel was extremely helpful, room very comfortable and clean. We will come back! Highly recommend!

If you cannot speak Spanish, don't go there when I check in, it takes a hour . Nobody can speak English. After check out, I left cellphone charger in the room, I cannot get it. Too bad service

Before our trip I messaged the hotel with some questions twice through the chat, and once directly to their email that I found online - not a single word of response. Taking half a star off for that. When we arrived, first they put us in a room with 1 bed when we had booked for 2 beds. Then they put us in a room with 2 beds that from the window looked at a wall instead of with a view like we booked. Then they argued they didn't have any other rooms. Then eventually they badged and gave us the room we were supposed to have. All of this exchange was happening through a translating app since nobody there spoke a word of English. Taking a star off for all that. The room had no heating/cooling system. They were super strict about leaving by 10am. Breakfast was the most basic we had in Peru. Taking another half star off for all that. Place was clean though, furniture fairly new, and it was inexpensive, so keeping the 3 remaining stars.

It was a very good hotel for the price. The staff were very kind and helpful. In particular, I had to take the Machu Picchu bus early in the morning, but they gave me lunch in advance the day before. I highly recommend this hotel.

The Hotel Raices was a great value with very kind staff. We only stayed here one night and enjoyed the walk from the train station and to bus for Machu Picchu. The hotel also served breakfast early for those with an early hike. It did get a bit loud at night with people leaving the bars but overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel!

I would pick somewhere different to stay next time.

Muy buena atención por parte del personal de recepción. Habitación muy limpia, excelente iluminación y comodidad. Como nuestro tour iniciaba muy temprano debíamos salir antes de que iniciara el desayuno. El hotel nos preparó un desayuno especial para llevar de camino a nuestro recorrido. Eso se valora demasiado.

Gorgeous view from the big window! Hot water with high pressure in the shower. Comfortable bed, good service, we were able to check in early bc had to rush to our bus to Machu Picchu. The hotel is situated in the center of the town, next to the bridge and the bus line, few minutes walk to the train station. There are many restaurants nearby, people are up on streets late, but its a downside of being in the center, close to everything. We absolutely loved staying there, will do again if come to town!

I like the hotel. I stayed for one night to go next day to Machupicchu. My room was on the 4th floor with a beautiful view to the river. The location was great as it not a crazy area of the small town but is very close to the buses to Machupicchu. Breakfasts was fine and bed comfortable. Recommended

Had an amazing view from the 6th floor! The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Although there is no AC, you really dont need it because the temperature goes down in the evenings and you get a nice cool breeze in. This hotel is at a great central location, but everything is walkable around the area. There is a little restaurant in their lobby thats also really good. We enjoyed a few drinks there. We would definitely stay here again, totally recommend!!

Staff was amazing and even held out luggage until we got back from Machu Picchu. WiFi wasn’t too strong and didn’t quite make it up to the room but was available in the common area. Tea was available all day and breakfast was veryyyy good!

Good breakfast, friendly and staff. Great views. Lots of good food abounds. Gave us a sack lunch for our Machu Picchu day. Only problem: Shower was impossible to use without getting water all over the bathroom floor which did not drain to the floor drain and no squeegee was provided.

El desayuno muy básico, pero lo peor fue el segundo día pues fuimos a desayunar a las 8:00 am, y ya no les quedaba prácticamente nada de fruta, embutido, café y leche. Además en ninguna mesa había servilletas, y tuve que avisar porque la chica lo veía pero no hacía nada. Algo positivo fue que pudimos dejar nuestras mochilas hasta que salió nuestro tren hacia Cusco, y la habitación situada en la 7 planta era tranquila.

I wouldn’t recommend booking this hotel. The sewage smell coming from the bathroom was so terrible it made my entire room smell and I could barely stand to use the bathroom. They had maintenance come look at it but the smell just came back a few hours later. Other reviews have mentioned the same issue so I would suggest finding another hotel.
