Highly recommend this hotel! Location can’t be beat being right behind the Zocalo. The staff and services were excellent! They were very kind and helpful with things like dinning experiences, taxis, etc. they have amenities daily including snacks, coffee, tea and free bottles of water. We will definitely rerun here when we go back to Mexico City.

I can’t find one thing to fault this hotel. It is as central as could be for the historical center. Great breafast. Bottled water and snacks in the lobby. Roof terrace with good views. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Wird gerade renoviert. Arbeiten haben nicht gestört. Wir waren im renovierten Teil mit Balkon und super Aussicht auf die Katedrale. Tolles Zimmer, etwas klein. Alle Getränke in der Minibar (nicht alkoholisch) sowie kleine Snacks inklusive. Minibar wird täglich aufgefüllt. Kostenlose Wasserflaschen im Kühlschrank in der Lobby. Bestes Frühstücksbuffet während 4 Wochen Mexico Rundreise. Der Vorteil, nähe Zocalo, ist auch der Nachteil. Leider ist es auf der Seite zur Kathedrale recht laut. Ab 6 bis ca. 23 Uhr. Trotzdem super Hotel und sehr gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis.

The location is superb. It's opposite the cathedral, a couple of minutes from Templo Mayor, and very close to great restaurants and shops. But it's very, very noisy. The hotel was undergoing renovations while I was there so there was a lot of banging and dust. I do recommend it for a first-time visit though.

Location is great, very walkable. We walked a few nights in the area and it felt very safe. Hotel all throughout lobby area was dirty, bathrooms in the lobby area needed attention as well. We were there 6 nights and no one ever cleaned those areas. Hotel staff is very nice and helpful.

Room was very clean and bed and pillows were comfortable. We had to change rooms after sleeping in a room with no heat. We moved from the old section to the new tower with no charge. Loved the fresh fruit, cookies, peanuts and potato chips and coffee, tea and bottled water always available. Front desk was wonderful and efficient. Hotel restaurant had good food. The hotel room was very clean and housekeeping did an excellent job. The hotel location was great - close to much of the historical sites. Parts of the hotel area on the main floor does need a bit of repairs nd maintenance.

Our room was newly remodeled. clean and comfortable… The complementary water every day and other drinks was much appreciated. The staff service was excellent, they were kind and very helpful. The only draw back was the close proximity to the Zocalo (main courtyard) which was a nonstop drum playing throughout the day and most of the night.

We had view of cathedral but it was very noisy all three nights, through the whole night. We couldn’t get our air conditioning to work and had to open window, otherwise very stuffy. N It was noisy even with window closed. Our room was very small. Breakfast very good. Otherwise a good hotel in Historico Centro.

Complimentary upgrade to the Pyramid Tower - lovely, very clean room with comfortable beds and luxurious bedding. Staff was super friendly and helpful at all times. Easy sightseeing in the area with tons of restaurants and Oxxos around every corner. Late night room service available at reasonable prices. Only issue was noise due to the seemingly thin walls - could hear hallway conversations easily and if you have loud neighbors with crying children could put a damper on your morning sleep-in, so bring earplugs. But this is a tiny blip in an otherwise amazing stay.

I was paying from $350-$450 a night for a room and it looked like it was from the 1980s when I walked in. Even had a broken bathroom sink. The hotel had to be half empty. There was hardly anybody in the hotel at any time of day. I don’t understand why they couldn’t have put us in the newly remodeled section of the hotel which is what was on Expedia. Yeah so definitely not happy about that. A lot of construction going on. The beds were pretty uncomfortable and the pillows were a three on a scale from one to five. I will say the Housekeeping staff did a great job in all areas that we encountered in the hotel. I wouldn’t say not to go here, but I won’t be making a second stay myself.

The only downside was the excessive noise throughout the entire day from the streets - whether it's music, drumming performances, cars, church bells, etc. - the noise was crazy and made it hard to sleep. From maybe 1 to 5am is when things are a bit quieter, but the walls are thin and you can hear everything in the hallway.

Very warm and courteous staff. We were especially grateful to Veronica at the front desk for helping us book our local tour. Thelma Gallindo made different delicious meals at the breakfast buffet everyday. Our room was always clean and the thermostat worked well. The moment we arrived at the lobby there was no one to help with our luggage. I have to dragged all my bags inside. Chek in was at 3 pm. We arrived around 1 30pm and was told our room was not ready yet, that it will be ready at 3pm. We went to eat and came back around 4pm and still the room was not ready yet. They said that it will be ready at 4 45pm so we had to wait.

We had internet troubles all four days of our stay. We kept calling to the front desk and they would tell us they'd be sending someone to troubleshoot it, but no one ever arrived. We had to ask for toilet paper because it never got replaced, again, the front desk said they'd be sending someone with it, but again, no one showed up. The staff was great, the view, and the accessibility to the city was amazing, I just expected things to function the way they should for the price I paid.

The staff were very friendly and attentive throughout our stay. When we arrived, our room was not ready yet, but they kindly provided us with dinner vouchers, which we really appreciated. The service recovery was thoughtful and professional. The location is excellent — it’s less than a 5-minute walk to the main attractions in the historic district. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and would recommend this hotel.

A fabulous stay. Carlos at Front Desk was particularly kind and welcome. I stayed a week and the hotel really did come to feel like "home." The absolutely MASSIVE bowls of potato chips throughout the lobby as well as snacks and free coffee... a delight. Of course, the pyramid ruin beneath the hotel? Exceptional. And the pyramid ruins just down the street, less than 200 metres? Amazing. Phenomenal location for everything. I also appreciated the gorgeous meeting rooms where I could work with a view. The rooftop bar is pricey but the view? Five star. I'd absolutely return and with a smile on my face. The breakfast was exceptional as well. Carlos and staff like him were kind and gracious, and eager to make me feel welcome and comfortable. The room was lovely too.

We stayed for 4 nights and everything went excellent. Hotel is clean, modern and service is excellent. Great location, we walked to el zócalo, palacio nacional, la cathedral, torre Latinoamericana and palacio de Bellas Artes. Very walkable. Most of the personal is very nice and polite (some not really, one lady, a waiver at the breakfast was just not happy working there) but other staff was really nice. Definitely we would back to this hotel.

Hotel Cathedral is a gem in the historic center of Mexico City. The staff is absolutely wonderful – very attentive, friendly, and always ready to help. My room was nice, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing after exploring the city. The location can’t be beat, right in the heart of the historic center, close to everything.
