Residence Inn by Marriott New Orleans Metairie

A relaxing stay for a family of five. Everything was clean and all of the staff were kind (front desk, dining, housekeeping, maintenance). Breakfast offered a variety of delicious options. The heated pool was relaxing. I really liked a quality hotel away from the hectic New Orleans tourist areas. Thanks for an amazing stay!

This hotel used to be so much nicer. Maybe the pandemic really took a toll on the cleanliness and overall care staf / ownership put into it. Don’t get me wrong it’s still a nice place to stay but the age and lack of overall upkeep is evident. Specifically our room had chips in the table, unknown black/brown splatters on two walls (one in the kitchen by the sink and another on the wall going into the bathroom) which I was able to easily clean off with a wet cloth. The shower at one point had shampoo, conditioner and body wash in refillable dispensers mounted on the wall. They had sense fallen off and were now placed on one of the shelves with the double sided tape still showing on three bottles and on the wall where they used to be. The common areas are also showing lots of wear and tear that a fresh coat of paint could fix up. One of the security doors which should have required a key to enter was broken and could easily be accessed by anyone outside. The hot tub was also broken and didn’t say when it would be operational again. All that said, this hotel is still a fine place to stay, it just used to be nicer. The rooms are all spacious, well furnished and having a real stove, sink and fridge is fantastic! The hotel is dog friendly and they provide plenty of bags and trash cans around the property. Additionally it’s nice the individual buildings all have their own luggage carts! Everyone we talked to who worked there was kind, friendly and helpful as well.

Hotel is under renovation but they didn’t begin too early, noise wasn’t bad. Great little hotel in a nice neighborhood. Clean pool and outdoor amenities to enjoy. All areas maintained well, maintenance guys always around keeping grounds spotless. Front desk was welcoming and available to answer questions. Rooms are very clean with nice towels and toiletries, clean sheets on comfortable beds. Great stay

The outdoor pool was dirty. It seems like the hotel was being renovated, and the staff wasn’t very friendly. And the breakfast choices were terrible.

We enjoyed our stay. Room was clean and well appointed. We thought the breakfast was good. It is located behind a surgery center and we had very little traffic. The outside pool area is nice, they supplied the towels and the grandkids liked it. My only complaint was that the bed in room 106 is on the same wall as the exit and it is a very heavy door. Luckily, there was not much late/early traffic, we we endured.

Always love staying at Residence Inn. This facility was far below standard compared to other residence inn I have visited in the past. Old broken furnitures, old smelly carpets, and couch lopsided stained. Definitely need renovations. Breakfast was very good, great location and several parkkng spaces for guests.

The property is old & under construction. Once it’s updated it will probably be better

My family and I stayed here for spring break in the two bedroom suite. It was comfortable and clean but the smell in the room was something we couldn’t get used to so we purchased a plug in. The breakfast was good they changed the protein every morning which was nice but everything else pretty much remain the same. The grounds were well kept pool was nice although the water at the time was cold, basketball court and the little area where you could grill was comfortable to just sit outside and enjoy the breeze. The drive to everywhere we wanted to go except the swap tour was less than 15-20 mins away which was great. It’s only 15 mins away from the French quarter, 5 mins from Mr Ed’s, 10 mins to the mall. Just all and all great place to stay with the family especially small children.

Servies were lacking. No luggage carts available at check-in. Phone in room did not work and was not repaired during stay. One of the bedside lights did not work and was not repaired during stay. Request for dish soap was not handled during stay.

This property is decent. We had a 2 bedroom suite for 6 people and slept comfortably. The property and our room was well maintained. The breakfast was nice. They had fixings for waffles but there was no waffle iron! Sausage, scrambled eggs, mini quiches, toast, hot & cold cereal, yogurt, bagels & cream cheese, boiled eggs, coffee, orange juice, apple juice was served. The swimming pool is heated. The staff is friendly.

Staff was excellent and helpful. Unfortunately the rooms needed updating and had a dirty smell.

Check-in was easy, the staff were friendly and responsive. The rooms were clean. Perfect location. Near restaurants, entertainment, mall, and a quick drive to Bourbon St.

Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable!!

Overall the stay was good. I think more attention to details is important. For example the body wash was out in the shower, completely out. We did not have extra toilet paper in one bathroom. These things should be looked at each and every time a room is cleaned.

Was nothing like pics room was dirty and smelled like smoke waste of money

The rooms with the oven weren’t cleaned so I had to get a regular room

The halls were in poor condition and had a bad odor. Our room also had the smell of cigarette smoke coming from who knows where. It was really bad and could only guess that an adjoining room had someone smoking in it even though the building is smoke free. That was very disappointing. Even though thr halls were dark, smelled bad and were kind of depressing, the room was in better condition. I expect more elegance from a Marriott property though.

The staff was very friendly, the room was nice and clean. The only issue was the sofa bed was broken!

Really everything and everyone was really perfect. The only problem was there was no free wifi it went out and couldnt get anyone out until after our stay. Which is really out of their control.

Comfortable clean room. Good breakfast but no pastries. The bathroom is very close to the bed and there is no door to the sink area.

The room was nice, but layout was a bit odd, with a desk and a flat panel TV rather in the middle of the room, and a locked closet in the middle of the outer wall. Windows only open a few inches, and no insect screen. The hallways are very ... very ... gray. There was no sign or distinguishing feature to mark the location of the elevator in the monotonous hallways. I guess it's a little late to edit the floor plan now, but turning one room into an open lounge on each floor would have made a big difference in the feel of the place.

It was amazing re: cleanliness and convenience. It was a little understaffed in the evening and the sofa bed was uncomfortable. Except for this I would have given it an excellent.

Overall, my experience was pleasant. However, we had to keep putting water in the back of the toilet to flush. We did not inform the front desk because we did not want to pack our things and move to a different room once we got settled and noticed the issue. We only stayed in the room to sleep so we just dealt with it. Everything else was great, including breakfast which was the best part.

Front desk lady was polite enough ! No washing soap in kitchen . Only dishwasher soap so if u drink a cup pf coffee or use a plate your only option is to run the dishwasher to wash it . Also at 9.15 a lady loudly bangs on our door like theres a fire . We were jolted out of our beds as we arrived super late the night before . Kindly train your staff to not enter or knock like there's a fire prior to check out at 11 AM . Was a rude awakening.

4 star only because I book it with $5 more per night for drink package but never get it. I talk to the front desk and they said they never offer it. 😳

Quiet and safe. A good place to stay. Staff ok. Too few breakfast staff. WE pay a premium rate to stay over Thanksgiving weekend, and there's no staff. Go figure. Breakfast adequate. Not very friendly or informative about area.

Staff was very friendly and considerate. My car battery went dead and the hotel staff so kindly gave me a jump. They were just like family!!

Great Hotel. Great Price. Great amenities. Full Kitchen. Can't be beat in the area. Short drive to Bourbon Street and the French Quarter.

Shopping and dining options were across the Causeway Bridge (not walkable) about 3 - 4 miles away, an Uber ride away.

close to city and the airport. avoided the craziness of downtown New Orleans. Great staff. Really enjoyed a double suite with two bedrooms.

We were very disappointed with the quality of the breakfast. The selections were limited but the food was acceptable. The coffee however was awful, it was more like weak tea. We were in the hotel for 4 nights, by day three we had to go outside the hotel in search of a decent cup of coffee. I think at minimum the hotel should offer it‘a guest a decent cup of coffee in the morning

Full kitchen with a comfortable queen bed, desk with lots of plug-ins for computer work. Full breakfast buffet style. Perfect for me.
