Lovely historic home, now hotel, in a beautiful quiet neighborhood close to downtown. Breakfast was adequate and we enjoyed a cocktail in the bar the night before. The dinner menu looked delicious but we had already eaten. The room was dated but the bed and coverings were comfortable and the bathroom was clean and large. All staff interactions were very friendly and helpful.

Lovely Victorian hotel. Restaurant on site in a glass conservatory. Great breakfast included which you could have served or continental buffet. Dinner menu also had many good options. Rooms were very quiet and it had a garden off of the dining room. Nice lobby and bar area where you could have drinks.

A very nice hotel. Had everything we needed except....air conditioning during some pretty warm times in Scotland. I did not want to open a window since no screen was present on the window. A fan was provided which helped some but a long hot night. I understand the air conditioning is not preset on most hotels in the Highlands. Everything else is fine.

We stayed in a suite in the extra building on the property, not the main house. Only there for a couple of nights but staff were efficient and friendly, the rooms very clean. However the suite was very warm and stuffy, with no sort of ventilation or AC at all, and our king bed was two twin mattresses pushed together. Hotel bar and eating areas nicely furnished and comfortable, but I’d recommend going out for breakfast. Although complimentary, the food was poorly prepared/appeared cheap and pre-packaged, and there’s no real coffee. They stirred a teaspoon of instant into some hot water. Was expecting better quality for price. Probably would look for another stay next time, but comfortable and clean overall.

Beautiful room on the garden. Close to Inverness center but out of the heart of the city. Quiet, more serene setting with free parking. Loved Miss Molly, the house dog with her ball.

Property was just okay. We booked two standard king-bed rooms on Expedia and one party in our group ended up in a room for disabled individuals and the hotel blamed Expedia. They did the same thing to the couple in front of us who booked a suite and got a smaller room. Additionally, one of our rooms had dirty sheets and comforter and we had to have it changed late at night. Staff was again blaming the poor quality on Expedia (which is ridiculous). I hate managers who cannot take responsibility for their mistakes. Would not recommend this hotel.

The staff was nice but not very professional. They didn’t give us any information about wifi or the property when we arrived they just handed us a key. The room was hot with no air and the bed spread was dirty. The carpets were also dirty and it smelled like smoke. Dinner was very slow and no one checked on us or tended to the bar. It is not a location I would recommend

Hotel is in a quiet area of Inverness, requiring a car or taxi to visit the town centre. The hotel itself is an older, grander building with a newer (2006), annex. We stayed in the annex, which had lovely big and clean rooms. Bed was very comfortable, with a fridge, tea and coffee. Bathroom was huge with nice products and a great shower. We had breakfast which was freshly cooked and delicious. Staff were all welcoming with a real family atmosphere and they couldn't do enough for us. We would definitely return and have no problem recommending the hotel to other travellers. Inverness is a great base to see the great glen and the north east coast.

Location is away from old town so you need to cab it if you dont want to drive. Also the room was not in the castle. Based on the pictures posted it seemed thar you'd be in the main castle but the room was actually in a very dated side building with dirty carpets and old smell.

Lovely inn- very clean and quaint. We were assigned the annex , which was fine. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Only issue- my husband had second shower and he ran out of hot water.

No hot water for shower. The boiler had to be reset and it was fixed. Breakfast service on 5/21 was slow and lacked the attention to details from the day before. Maybe they were short staffed? Staff in all venues were friendly, welcoming and helpful. We would stay here again.

Due to time of year (August), had to pay a premium to stay in Inverness for work. Have stayed in the hotel under previous ownership many times but dissapointed to see rooms have not changed at all. I stayed in one of the "Suites" in the outside wing. Same decor, same furniture, same carpets, same dated TV as when I stayed over 10 years ago. I realise you pay a premium for the time of year, but paying almost £250 a nights stay I would expect investment could be made in bringing the rooms up to a more modern standard.

Four of us (all adults) stayed here for our last night of a 10-day trip through England and Scotland. We couldn't believe how beautiful the exterior of the hotel was, as well as the lobby, and restaurant ... we felt like we were staying in a one of the castles we'd seen along the way. The staff were terrific, including Molly, an adorable pup who loves to play with the guests! Our rooms were comfortable and offered us a great night's rest before our journey back home to the States from Inverness Airport. The showers were a bit of a letdown, though, as there was very little water pressure. It's an old building, so perhaps that's to be expected? The breakfast buffet made up for it :)

Staff here was very nice. It is not walkable to downtown Inverness but if you have a car it works well. Good breakfast options and room was nice size. We stayed in the new building, only complaint was that there was a green safety light above the window that shown brightly the entire night and kept us both up. UGH!

The property is set in a residential area, so not right off a major transport road, but quiet & safe, which was great. The main building is beautiful with lovely common areas & a gorgeous dining conservatory serving a really nice breakfast. The welcome upon check-in was warm & accommodating, with the manager taking us to our room in order to deliver offered milk for hubby’s morning coffee. Our room was spacious with a lovely little table & chairs on a small porch out a door, overlooking a serene garden area. The bed was an actual American size king, which was great for us after a week of sleeping in beds smaller than what we’re used to! An added surprise, which brought a smile, was the sweet dog in the lobby. I’d not hesitate to recommend Lochardil House Hotel & would stay again if ever in the area in future.

Nice place, a bit dated but large and nicely appointed rooms. Great breakfast and wonderful staff at check in and for breakfast service. Caroline at check in and Andrew in the dining room were outstanding. Service in the bar to have a drink was slow, seemed that when bar manager was busy the two young ladies helping were clueless and were unable to communicate to senior staff that we asked for drinks. Overall nice place to stay and nice walk to Inverness town Centre.

The staff was nice but not very professional. They didn’t give us any information about wifi or the property when we arrived they just handed us a key. The room was hot with no air and the bed spread was dirty. The carpets were also dirty and it smelled like smoke. Dinner was very slow and no one checked on us or tended to the bar. It is not a location I would recommend

Excellent service and management. The staff was helpful, accommodating, and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The location is very convenient if you want to stay in Inverness but not right in the busy city area. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful old manor house in a quiet old neighbourhood. We really enjoyed the half hour walk along the river into town. Had dinner in the restaurant the first night and it was excellent. Delicious breakfast and very friendly staff. We were quite happy that we chose this hotel rather than a location downtown.

Hotel is in a quiet area of Inverness, requiring a car or taxi to visit the town centre. The hotel itself is an older, grander building with a newer (2006), annex. We stayed in the annex, which had lovely big and clean rooms. Bed was very comfortable, with a fridge, tea and coffee. Bathroom was huge with nice products and a great shower. We had breakfast which was freshly cooked and delicious. Staff were all welcoming with a real family atmosphere and they couldn't do enough for us. We would definitely return and have no problem recommending the hotel to other travellers. Inverness is a great base to see the great glen and the north east coast.

Staff here was very nice. It is not walkable to downtown Inverness but if you have a car it works well. Good breakfast options and room was nice size. We stayed in the new building, only complaint was that there was a green safety light above the window that shown brightly the entire night and kept us both up. UGH!

Staff was very friendly and informative. The room was very comfortable and spacious. We did not get to explore much around the property beside walking in the garden but the area felt very tranquil. A bit of distance for walking to town.

Beautiful room on the garden. Close to Inverness center but out of the heart of the city. Quiet, more serene setting with free parking. Loved Miss Molly, the house dog with her ball.

The property is set in a residential area, so not right off a major transport road, but quiet & safe, which was great. The main building is beautiful with lovely common areas & a gorgeous dining conservatory serving a really nice breakfast. The welcome upon check-in was warm & accommodating, with the manager taking us to our room in order to deliver offered milk for hubby’s morning coffee. Our room was spacious with a lovely little table & chairs on a small porch out a door, overlooking a serene garden area. The bed was an actual American size king, which was great for us after a week of sleeping in beds smaller than what we’re used to! An added surprise, which brought a smile, was the sweet dog in the lobby. I’d not hesitate to recommend Lochardil House Hotel & would stay again if ever in the area in future.

This was by far in all my travels to the UK (this was my 4th) the nicest, most comfortable, best all around hotel I stayed at. Staff was so incredibly friendly! Food was delicious (we had three breakfasts and one dinner there). In three nights I got hooked on the heated towel rack and now I’m looking to get one for home!

No hot water for shower. The boiler had to be reset and it was fixed. Breakfast service on 5/21 was slow and lacked the attention to details from the day before. Maybe they were short staffed? Staff in all venues were friendly, welcoming and helpful. We would stay here again.

Loved everything about this hotel. Fantastic staff. The rooms were quite luxurious, with the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on. Restaurant food was great, and the grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Could not recommend more!

This hotel ranked as my favourite during my trip around the highlands. Staff were so welcoming, attentive and friendly. My room was perfect for my one night stay. Food was delicious as were the drinks!! Big thank you to Gordon, the night manager, whose suggestion for my route to Kendal was spot on !!! A very interesting character too. I will 100% return to this hotel, when next in Inverness.

Lovely hotel approx 10/15 mins from middle of Inverness. Staff were great, very polite, friendly and professional. Dinner in the bar was good, value for the money paid and didn’t need a dessert afterwards as full. Breakfast was good but maybe (if had to be critical) the Scottish breakfast could have been a bit more than 1 of each item - but maybe that is because I like a good Scottish breakfast 😆. Overall deffo a hotel I will be staying at again when next in the area
