The beach was very dirty and nonexistent. Activities were very limited. Everything seemed to be broken as well, from the treadmills and equipment in the gym to ALL of the hot tubs on the property. It was such a disappointing stay for us!

We stayed on the adult/ LaPerla side this time after staying on the family side numerous times over the years. The hotel itself if BEAUTIFUL, especially on the adult side. However, the adult pool was a total no for us. The music/ DJ was so loud, we couldn\'t hear each other and the "entertainment" was pulling female guests up for a twerking contest. No thanks. The bartenders at the pool bar were just so unfriendly and the wait was way too long for a drink. And the pool itself looked worn and kind of dirty. So, while we totally loved the adult side atmosphere and lack of kids, we hung out at the family pool every day just to avoid that whole pool and scene.

The Paradisus La Perla experience was overall an 8 out of 10. Our primary interest to stay there was due to the Jr Swim-up rooms available. The rooms were nice, but the sofas were uncomfortable to sit on. Unfortunately, we were not able to fully enjoy the swim-up room capability due to the pool water temperature being extremely cold. Had the water been heated, it would have been a game changer for sure. The hotel catered to adults, but the music played all day by the DJ made it too loud for anyone to really enjoy quiet time. Even the quiet zones were not quite due to the DJ music. Too much party outside of our room. The gym was adequate, but the equipment was outdated, and some pieces were out of service. Finally, we did not like the sales pressure by the concierge staff to attend Malia Circle promotion meetings-seemed to pushy and could have done without that type of intrusion. Other than that, we will try a different Malia Property in the future and see how it goes.

Typical all inclusive. Older property that needs updating. Buffet was as expected but sadly the specialty restaurants were not good the steak house being the biggest disappointment. The swim out Reserve “quiet pool” was dirty & not maintained. The larger pools were so slippery and with that many people they need chemicals. Clear markings where they have not been scrubbed. Employees are so kind and friendly, housekeeping was amazing! NO FANS in any open air spaces or closed to circulate air so be prepared to be very hot, it was 92 daily. But plenty of chairs, clean towels and cabanas. Entertainment was cultural and so amazing (highlight). Low water pressure and we lost power several times. Honestly would not recommend & it’s significantly more money than other all inclusive for what reason we couldn’t figure out. Beach wasn’t available but that was nature not the resort.

Very happy I chose to stay at Paradisus La Perla. The property is clean and beautiful. The staff is friendly and professional. When I was unable to make my check in time due to a flight delay, the property went above and beyond to ensure my stay was top notch. This resort is great for couples wanting to relax. If you stay on a weekend there are many fun things like a pool foam party and karaoke night. Amenities: DEFINITELY use their spa. I booked a couples massage which included hydrotherapy at check-in. It was hands down my favorite day. Also loved being able to choose between the main Fahrenheit pool and Quiet pool. Dining: We stayed for 4 nights. Our dining routine was going to the Nespresso cafe for small breakfast, the buffet for lunch, and a dinner reservation in the evening. If I could rank the restaurants we tried; SAL is #1 and must, then Tokimeku (loved their sushi) then LemonFish. LemonFish wasn't my favorite. On one night we did order room service which did take a while but we did not mind. Pro tip: Definitely bring cash for tips. The staff deserve it. Also there was much sargassum on the beach so we stuck to the pool most days, but we did manage to have one fun day of kayaking and beach volleyball. The water just wasn't very clear. Overall I'd highly recommend staying here.

The property was beautiful and very relaxing. There is a family resort attached. It was nice because we stayed in the adults only and our younger family members stayed on family side and we could enjoy adult side as well as family dining and pools during the day with our younger family members. It was a long way out of town so nothing very close. A very hot long walk to 5th avenue snd port. Spent quite a bit of extra money on taxi rides to go anywhere. Resort is very amazing so you don’t need to go anywhere. But we like to get exposed to culture outside of fancy resort so we enjoy getting off property a little. Plenty of pools and dining. Gorgeous and tranquil atmosphere. Very spread out so be prepared to get your steps in which I loved but if you have limited mobility you need to upgrade to family concierge or reserve. I would definitely return. Due to time of year (May) beach and ocean was unusable due to sea weed. Overall a real jewel of a resort!

The resort is decorated with warm earthy tones which I find very relaxing. Pools are kept clean. Service is fantastic. Hadar buffet has a good variety of food. Lemon Fish, Tokimeku, and Teppanyaki restaurants have fantastic food and excellent service.

Most reviews I read before we came were accurate. We rate the hotel 3.5 stars out of 5. 1. Staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful 2. Buildings, restaurants, bars and pools are lovely 3. Rooms are very nice. If you are being picky, no usb charging sockets which seemed odd given everyone has a phone, ipad, watch, other items that need usb charging. 4. Double showers are great but the switch for hand held/ceiling shower didn't work in both our rooms on all 4 showers. 5. Rooms had a strong damp smell which invaded our clothes. Our first room was very smelly, on the ground floor with La Coate (large rodent/Mexican raccoon) faeces visible on the floor from its frequent visits so we didn't use our hot tub or sit in the chairs and we moved rooms after 2 nights. 4. Restaurants are as in other reviews I read. Breakfast buffet, Mole and Tapas restaurants were very good. Fuego was a bit hit and miss. Italian "Capone" was very poor food and service was slow. 5. Drinks are at the cheap end of the brand unless you upgrade for an extra $1000 a week. There are 4 wines - Merlot, Cabernet Sav, Sav Blanc & Chardonnay. All were drinkable but disappointing. Better to pay extra and order something nice. Not sure why $350 a night doesn't get you a decent glass of wine. 6. No entertainment to speak of but some activities around the pool during the day. 7. Guests are hijacked when they arrive with offers of discounts if they attend a Timeshare-esque presentation. We declined

Beautiful landscape and modern touches throughout property give a wonderfully romantic vibe without being overcrowded like most resorts. That being said, there are numerous finishes that are in desperate need of repair/updating (our room door had smudges all over it, the room numbers were falling off, the baseboards in many of the local restrooms were rotted, the finishing on numerous bathroom doors was peeling away, the telephone in our room did not work, along with a lamp, etc.), and there are ZERO fans in common areas to help keep the air moving so it will feel stifling hot even once the sun goes down (we went end of June/beginning of July) and prevent you from spending too much time in those areas even if you may want to. The mosquitos are horrendous (definitely bring bug spray, not the citronella wrist bands like us, which did nothing), and be prepared to see lots of random critters that may get too close for comfort. The pool does close early (7 pm) but that never bothered us since we did not come to hang out at the pool. The bar areas are nice, and there is even a winery we didn’t discover until our last day (bummer). This would definitely be a place we return to, as long as the price is right.

The staff are genuinely friendly and always smiling. Eduardo the reserve concierge went above and beyond our expectations and he made our short stay extra special. My wife and I will definitely go back to the reserve at La Perla. The restaurants were delicious and booking was completed prior to our arrival which was helpful. The room was cozy and the swim out was magnificent. Book It!!

We loved this resort, beautiful rooms and great food. Staff is above any I have experienced. Only issue was that our outdoor hot tub didn’t work. They did come to work on it, but I was unable to use it for two days .

Room had a musty odor. There were not enough chairs at the pool or on the beach for everyone at the property. I also didn’t realize that the adult and family resorts were connected and shared quite a bit of facilities together. Not a place to go if you truly want to be kid free.

The property is very clean, and the grounds are so beautiful with all of the green plants. You really get the tropical feel. Everything is easily accessible and there are bars and places to eat at every turn. The quiet places are a nice touch, and the pool area is fun and relaxing. Just a paradise .

La Perla was a beautiful place - lovely outdoor spaces and a nicer beach than we anticipated - very little seaweed. There were lots of dining options and a 24 hour coffee bar. The resort is quite isolated and it is a $20 taxi ride to town. The decor in the rooms with 2 large tubs was a little much, but the room was very comfortable.

This resort was great. We stayed on the adults only side, which I recommend. The food quality at the restaurants was amazing. The buffet was just okay. Excellent service everywhere. Room was gorgeous and the bed was comfortable. Room had a large soaking tub in the bathroom. And a jacuzzi tub on the balcony. The beach was okay, not as nice as other resorts but the pool was so fun. The drinks were good quality. Good selection of liquor.

Everything was great. The only issue we had was the air conditioning in our room- it stopped working the second night and the room was so uncomfortably hot. They fixed it in the morning, but it seemed like the temperature rose at night again pretty significantly, which made it difficult to sleep.

We had a wonderful stay. Upgrading to the Reserve was well worth it. Access to an additional restaurant, pool, and steak-house menu items were all valuable adds. Room was spacious and comfortable. Our experience at Paradisus La Perla was absolutely amazing. The moment we arrived at the resort, Denys, our concierge, greeted us warmly and immediately made us feel at home. Denys provided us with a clear and concise explanation of all the amenities and dining options available at the resort, taking our hunger and exhaustion into consideration. In no time, Denys was able to book us a table at Bana for dinner, allowing us to unwind and relax. Our stay would not have been as memorable without Denys's excellent service, and the food at Bana was exceptional. We had a wonderful time with all the staff, but we must mention the great poolside service provided by Elvis, the enjoyable conversation with Mago at Toji, and the fantastic massage from Barbara. We have been to many resorts, but Paradisus is undoubtedly one of the best we have ever visited. Thank you for making our week so enjoyable and unforgettable.

Went there three years ago, and returned just last week. Service and quality still remain impecable. Food is incredible, both at the buffets and the restaurants (had the chance to make reservations for two a-la-carte restaurants). Service is the one thing that makes this hotel well worth it. Wow! Where do I start? The room was amazing, the pools are awesome! Very well maintained grounds. Great dining and excellent room service. But, the true standouts are the staff. Everyone was warm and friendly, attentive to every detail. Roberto was our concierge and was absolutely the best! He kept in close contact and was very respectful and responsive. A truly wonderful human being. This was our second trip and we can't wait to return!

Not as it once was. The bell hop and restaurant staff, even by the pool are amazing, hardworking, and helped the customer experience. The Reserve concierge staff, are not a good fit for their roles. Luis is the one to welcomed us, thay really soured oir experience. He lacked enthusiasm and was rude. When you asked him for help, he was condescending and treated you like a bother. Cynthia, who was supposed to be our private concierge, lacked anticipation or the desire to even help you. She didn't give us a tour of the resort and had crappy attitude overall. We questioned what was the point of upgrading to The Reserve experience if the concierge staff have poor service, empathy, or desire to help give a warm and pleasant experience. Cynthia talked to us like we were being commmanded and she had zero hospitality. Her WhatsApp messages were very automated and she had no grace or consideration in person. She knew it was a family vacation and she ignored all the useful insights to help make our stay memorable. This is our 3rd Paradisus line booking and due to Cynthia and Luis, we will never book with Paradisus or Melia again. Why would you advertise a Luxury and memorable experience when you can't even have a concierge team that actually wants to help. They should promote the staff from the pool like Alfredo or servers at the Hadar loke Ernesto, Nelvia, and Jorge, as they know how to provide a great customer experience and makes you feel welcome.

The staff are second to none! Very courteous, extremely helpful, and very sincere about the service they provide. I had a question about their services, and contacted one of the concierges, who got right back to me on his day off! Very impressive going above and beyond. The food and entertainment was fantastic! The grounds were always being kept up, and everone was so accommodating to ensure our time was maximized for relaxation and no time waiting in lines for anything! Looking forward to going back!

We had a reservation with this property and due to travel documents not being ready in time,we tried to contact the property to see if we can reschedule our reservation. After calling twice they transferred me and it just hung up on me both times. After the third time calling, they gave me an email for a front desk help. I emailed on April 30. It is now May 16 and I still haven’t heard anything back. The communication on this property is almost impossible and you are thrown into a circle of endlessness. It’s very unfortunate because we really wanted to be a returning customer and wanted to plan our wedding at this resort and the fact that we got absolutely no help is very disappointing. Customer service is absolutely terrible and now we lost a reservation with absolutely no help at all. It seems they don’t care about people staying here and they just care about taking your money. It is now May 16 and I just called again and asked for an email or phone number for a manager and they just told me they couldn’t help me and I have to call back the most unprofessionalism I’ve ever experienced.

We've been to several all-inclusive resorts in Mexico (including Fairmont Mayakoba).. and this one has been our favorite! Upon our arrival we upgraded to the "reserve" area for a very reasonable cost and it was well worth the price. We truely can't say enough about the quality of the staff and food. We loved everything about this trip! To name drop Carlos (our concierge) and Alejandra (front desk) really made our stay extra special --- THANK YOU!

This property is beautiful and I’m hard to impress. Everyone there was extremely nice. I only had one concern about this property which many people have stated: the dinner reservations. They really need a better way of scheduling. So when you check in they say call guest services. So I called them and for five minutes no one answered. I was then instructed to walk to the concierge desk by check in so I did that. I was then instructed to call and I informed her we just tried. So she called the family side and handed me the phone. The lady said there was 10-15 people in front of me so I need to walk over there, so I did. When I arrived 4 minutes later no one was there and her and her coworker were just talking and playing, no line or anything. Took 10 seconds once there. Imagine having to do that everyday for dinner. Other than that it was good.

Excluding the amazing price for this level of all-inclusive resort, this place is a no-brainer for those who know that this part of MX (Cancun-Playadel Carmen- Tolum) has the safest tourist areas in all of Mexico. This all-inclusive resort is high-end all the way, and “The Reserve” adults-only section and the family side is as well. The location of this resort makes it the perfect place for any gringo who can also speak Spanish because instead of having to pay the mini Taxi mafia that charges the high fixed price for every ride, you can use the InDriver app and avoid dealing with the Taxi mafia that runs the tourist area in the central part of town. Taking an Uber driver to the airport will only cost you $35 instead of $100 through the taxis. So I definitely recommend this place. It’s the best location for an all-inclusive hotel, beautiful beaches lots of stuff to do and just in perfect condition.

Roulette Room SCAM -- If you book a Roulette Room at La Perla (Adults Only), you may be placed in the Family Side! Fortunately, our group was placed in the Adults only side, but we could have been on the family side even though we booked in La Perla. This is an issue with the Travelocity booking -- Not the property. The hotel was very clean & rooms were large, the staff was very helpful and friendly, the pool & pool bar were great! A very nice property! The beach had a lot of seaweed, so if that's what you're looking to do you likely will want to book elsewhere.

My fiancée and I stayed at this property for 4 nights this week and we absolutely loved it! The resort is beautiful, the food is by far the best we’ve ever had at a resort, the staff are kind and helpful and there is a great vibe by the pool with the DJ. Freddy and Ulises were amazing to us and always took care of our every need! The only negative would be the piles of seaweed that they left on the sand. As a result we didn’t spend any time on the beach.

La Perla was a beautiful place - lovely outdoor spaces and a nicer beach than we anticipated - very little seaweed. There were lots of dining options and a 24 hour coffee bar. The resort is quite isolated and it is a $20 taxi ride to town. The decor in the rooms with 2 large tubs was a little much, but the room was very comfortable.

The property was beautiful and very relaxing. There is a family resort attached. It was nice because we stayed in the adults only and our younger family members stayed on family side and we could enjoy adult side as well as family dining and pools during the day with our younger family members. It was a long way out of town so nothing very close. A very hot long walk to 5th avenue snd port. Spent quite a bit of extra money on taxi rides to go anywhere. Resort is very amazing so you don’t need to go anywhere. But we like to get exposed to culture outside of fancy resort so we enjoy getting off property a little. Plenty of pools and dining. Gorgeous and tranquil atmosphere. Very spread out so be prepared to get your steps in which I loved but if you have limited mobility you need to upgrade to family concierge or reserve. I would definitely return. Due to time of year (May) beach and ocean was unusable due to sea weed. Overall a real jewel of a resort!

This resort was great. We stayed on the adults only side, which I recommend. The food quality at the restaurants was amazing. The buffet was just okay. Excellent service everywhere. Room was gorgeous and the bed was comfortable. Room had a large soaking tub in the bathroom. And a jacuzzi tub on the balcony. The beach was okay, not as nice as other resorts but the pool was so fun. The drinks were good quality. Good selection of liquor.

The waiters, waitresses, and customer service was amazing. Room was clean but a lot of things that were not in the roon were not in the best shape. The food was really good at most of the restaurants we tried. The downside is that there isnt much to do at night. The bars don't have a lot of sitting areas. The club is a sports bar that turns unto a club. Also does not have a lot of seating as well. We had some issues with our rooms and consierge were not able to help but customer service sorted us out on day 3 right away. They dont have many double bed rooms even though expedia sells it like it does. Expedia needs to fix their hotel information. Be aware that the steak restaurant is not included like the other resorts. You have to pay extra. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing time, this will work for you. If you need more things to do at night, this is not the place.

Went there three years ago, and returned just last week. Service and quality still remain impecable. Food is incredible, both at the buffets and the restaurants (had the chance to make reservations for two a-la-carte restaurants). Service is the one thing that makes this hotel well worth it. All the staff goes above and beyond trying to help you. Will surely be back for a third time.

Food was excellent. Facilities were excellent and clean. We were not expecting such a high quality experience. Our second Paradisus experience (last year in Cabo - also great). The brand has strong offerings.

Typical all inclusive. Older property that needs updating. Buffet was as expected but sadly the specialty restaurants were not good the steak house being the biggest disappointment. The swim out Reserve “quiet pool” was dirty & not maintained. The larger pools were so slippery and with that many people they need chemicals. Clear markings where they have not been scrubbed. Employees are so kind and friendly, housekeeping was amazing! NO FANS in any open air spaces or closed to circulate air so be prepared to be very hot, it was 92 daily. But plenty of chairs, clean towels and cabanas. Entertainment was cultural and so amazing (highlight). Low water pressure and we lost power several times. Honestly would not recommend & it’s significantly more money than other all inclusive for what reason we couldn’t figure out. Beach wasn’t available but that was nature not the resort.

Overall property was nice and clean, however the dining was horrible and the service was not very fast. Food options were minimal, and you had to make reservations to eat dinner anywhere but the buffet. The buffet was small and not good protein options. Also the American food options were just bad - they had a lot of Indian and bizarre foods available. Room service food was also bad and actually made us sick. We paid for an upgraded room but our provided concierge wouldn’t book reservations for our whole group. There were times when our room wasn’t cleaned until 3pm and there were not even that many people at the resort. Also, they wouldn’t serve us Baileys with our morning coffee until 10am but they were okay with giving us mimosas with alcohol - which doesn’t make sense. None of these have ever been issues at any other resort we’ve stayed at. Overall not impressed

Very happy I chose to stay at Paradisus La Perla. The property is clean and beautiful. The staff is friendly and professional. When I was unable to make my check in time due to a flight delay, the property went above and beyond to ensure my stay was top notch. This resort is great for couples wanting to relax. If you stay on a weekend there are many fun things like a pool foam party and karaoke night. Amenities: DEFINITELY use their spa. I booked a couples massage which included hydrotherapy at check-in. It was hands down my favorite day. Also loved being able to choose between the main Fahrenheit pool and Quiet pool. Dining: We stayed for 4 nights. Our dining routine was going to the Nespresso cafe for small breakfast, the buffet for lunch, and a dinner reservation in the evening. If I could rank the restaurants we tried; SAL is #1 and must, then Tokimeku (loved their sushi) then LemonFish. LemonFish wasn't my favorite. On one night we did order room service which did take a while but we did not mind. Pro tip: Definitely bring cash for tips. The staff deserve it. Also there was much sargassum on the beach so we stuck to the pool most days, but we did manage to have one fun day of kayaking and beach volleyball. The water just wasn't very clear. Overall I'd highly recommend staying here.

The property was lovely and the staff were friendly. The biggest issue was with the food. The only restaurant that did not require a reservation was Hadar and it was a buffet that served all three meals. The food at Hadar was barely adequate at times. Occasionally we found a tasty dish there. All the other restaurants on the "Adult Only" side were lacking in flavor and variety. The best restaurant was Mole (family side). There were inconsistencies with the Melia website and the actual restaurants within the complex. When we asked about the type of food served at each restaurant we were told conflicting information. Sol (the steakhouse) was a huge disappointment. We knew we would have to pay for this restaurant, but never expected to pay $9 for a $3 bottle of water and $52 for top sirloin that was tough (cooked medium). The biggest shock was the $108 for a ribeye!!! I am gluten sensitive and the options were extremely limited and thank goodness I do not have Celiac. Because of the difficulty with reserving restaurants and the mediocre food we will not be going back to Paradisus again.
