Sara at Check in was very sweet and helpful when we arrived. She showed us the property and the amenities and gave great recommendations as well. We booked last minute and were very pleasantly surprised with the whole venue and staff. Dinner was fantastic at Porcini ! Will definitely being staying again when we return to Oban!

This is a gorgeous property. Fun interior design and great restaurant. The service the first night was unpleasant and slightly unfriendly with no help for baggage and no lift. The next mornings service was amazing with a great lady working breakfast.

View is beautiful as hotel is on the water. Breakfast is interesting in that you order the night before, but it works well and is excellent. Staff was extremely friendly. Parking is available but limited, so if the hotel is full you will pay for parking unless you arrive between 6pm and 9pm.

Fantastic weekend! Beautiful hotel with lovely attentive staff. We were thoroughly looked after all weekend. The communal rooms are so cosy and the sea view from the lounge and restaurant were stunning. Restaurant food was absolutely delicious and the drinks menu was wonderful. Loved the scottish gin menu. Would definitely come back.

Absolutely sensational stay in all respects. This hotel exceeded our expectations - the staff could not do enough to please and yet they were never intrusive. The hotel is absolutely stunning with amazing interior design and little touches that make the stay luxurious and relaxed. The food is also top notch and breakfast the best of anywhere we have ever stayed. On-site parking is free and easy.

Absolutely amazing service at this lovely boutique hotel Great lounge with an amazing view of the water where we enjoyed cocktails, fabulous breakfast, and lots of areas to sit and relax. Our room was a little small and at times we heard other guests in the hall, but we played white noise through the supplied Bluetooth speaker and had a great sleep. Lots of hot water. Just a fabulous stay - the service was beyond exceptional. I would absolutely book this hotel again.

This hotel is Fabulous, immaculately clean and modern with staff that cannot do enough for you nothing is a problem! The ONLY possible improvement would be air conditioning but in Scotland this is very really an issue!! Highly recommended and would definitely stay here again!

Every single staff person was friendly, helpful and worked hard to make my our stay wonderful. Breakfasts and dinner were excellent. Even the takeaway breakfast they supplied for our early departure was perfect. Our room #11 was spotless and plenty of room (contrary to other reviews). We did hear a lot of water noise from an adjacent bathroom which sounded like it was directly behind our headboard. Other than that, this was truly a perfect 3 nights.

Nice hotel with great decor, spotlessly clean, efficient staff. Sadly the walls in the exte sion are like paper and we could hear everything from the room nextdoor in the middle of the night which is not great when you have to get up early and drive 200 miles.

Clean, stylish. Great breakfast. If I'm nitpicking, the sound of the boiler in room 6 is a bit of a pain; it's really loud and you can clearly hear it rumbling away in the room. We didn't complain, so you could argue it wasn't that bad but if we were there any longer, it might have warranted a conversation with the staff. Despite that, it was a lovely stay and I'd recommend.

This is a wonderful hotel! Extremely friendly staff. Very nice breakfast, which is included in the price of your stay. The hotel is beautifully decorated and is very cozy. The beds were comfortable. Great shower with excellent water pressure. Our room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The hotel is along the waterfront and is a short walk away from shops and restaurants. The town of Oban is lovely! Overall, I highly recommend!

I enjoyed our stay at No.17 The Promenade. The hotel staff were very pleasant and the decor in the hotel was pleasing. Our room was clean and nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately there was a constant noise all night from the kitchen, possibly from a refrigeration unit, but fortunately I had my earplugs, which I wore most of the time, drowned out the noise. The evening meal my husband and I had was very nice and there was a good convivial atmosphere. We would go back to the hotel but would request a room at the front of the hotel.

It is an older hotel with a decor upgrade. If you have rooms above you, you will be able to hear everything including them walking around in their room. Do not recommend for light sleepers. Room and bathroom are more on the compact side. Wouldn’t recommend for a longer stay as there isn’t really room for suitcases.

I only stayed one night, so can only speak to my experience in room 11. 11. I advise to never stay in room 11:00. Basically it's like sleeping in the shower of the adjacent room. 12. Not especially noisy neighbors, but every move, every gargle, every sentence, every sneeze was amplified by my headboard being 6 in from their bathroom. Number 11 should never have been a room. It was simply impossible to sleep. The next morning they apparently lost my breakfast slip and so there was none. I was very happy to leave.

Really enjoyed our two night stay. Staff was excellent, food was incredible, restored Naval hospital to hotel created excellent ambiance....the only down side was the lack of air conditioning during a hot season. We were reluctant to open our sliding glass door since there is no screen to keep the bugs out. Otherwise a very nice stay.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Very nicely decorated. Room was small but very comfortable. We had dinner & breakfast in the restaurant and both were excellent. The location was fantastic. It overlooks a beautiful bay - great sunset. Easy, safe walking to the busy downtown. Highly recommend.

No17 The Promenade is a lovely boutique hotel. It is located just outside of the center of Oban, a brisk 10 minute walk along the boardwalk from the downtown. The views of the harbor from the lounge and the restaurant are great, the furnishings are colorful and with lots of character and the hotel staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. The restaurant is fantastic—we loved both our dinner and our breakfast the next morning. We’ll be certain to return!

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location to walk into Oban. Beautiful decor and excellent staff and service. The Porcini restaurant and the included breakfast was wonderful. Only matter was our room and bathroom were fairly small. But overall it was high calibre lodging!

This is a wonderful hotel! Extremely friendly staff. Very nice breakfast, which is included in the price of your stay. The hotel is beautifully decorated and is very cozy. The beds were comfortable. Great shower with excellent water pressure. Our room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The hotel is along the waterfront and is a short walk away from shops and restaurants. The town of Oban is lovely! Overall, I highly recommend!

Sara at Check in was very sweet and helpful when we arrived. She showed us the property and the amenities and gave great recommendations as well. We booked last minute and were very pleasantly surprised with the whole venue and staff. Dinner was fantastic at Porcini ! Will definitely being staying again when we return to Oban!

The town itself is wonderful, and the hotel was quite attractive. Unfortunately, there were two serious issues: 1- There was a strong oil smell in the room from cooking, which was off putting, and it seemed as though we were sleeping in a deep fryer, and 2- we were made to feel very uncomfortable during breakfast. We were unaware of any rules to do with ordering, which we had done the night before with no comment from the hostess, so we hoped to share several entrées for our table. Rather than explain in a way that was kind, the hostess repeatedly said that she would have to “drag another table over”, and that she did not want to “food waste” which was heard by other guests, and was embarrassing. In the end, we changed our order, and she no longer made contact with us to ask about our experience, or offer more drinks or additional food if needed. The portions were actually relatively small, but were placed on massive plates, which we were easily able to remediate by putting similar orders on the same plate, for example. We had no problem finishing what we ordered, and we would have been more comfortable had she given us the original order. It was a very uncomfortable experience and we would not return.

An absolute must! The decor is absolutely stunning, and the service is the best I ever experimented. Sara, managing this place, was lovely, caring, and amazing on all front. The food at the restaurant Tbe Porcinni was excellent but the breakfast was out of this world.

Absolutely sensational stay in all respects. This hotel exceeded our expectations - the staff could not do enough to please and yet they were never intrusive. The hotel is absolutely stunning with amazing interior design and little touches that make the stay luxurious and relaxed. Very nice old building that has obviously had a lot of money spent on it recently. The facilities were also of very good quality. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Dinner time food was very tasty and the breakfast food was also of a very high standard. Service was also of a very high standard.

Unfortunately, we had a room over the kitchen, and as a result it warmed to 30 degrees and there was little way to cool down and meant we struggled to sleep. The warm weather wasn’t the fault of the property, but unfortunately we couldn’t spend any time in the room due to the way the hotel was laid out. Would return, but would probably specifically request a room elsewhere in the property.
