At Sonder by Marriott Bonvoy Court Square Apartments Long Island City, guests applaud the very spacious, apartment-style rooms with kitchens and easy subway access to Manhattan, but recurring noise from the rooftop bar and passing trains divides light sleepers.

The central LIC location and proximity to Court Sq station is ideal. The room is spacious, comfortable bed, and nice to have a TV with Roku for all app access. The biggest issue is the entry code not working every night. I had t9 call the help line and they had to change the entry code multiple times without it working multiple times. To not have any staff on property at night is unacceptable and unsafe.

I do not recommend this hotel. I arrived late at night, but there was no receptionist available for check-in. I found a poster with a QR code for self-check-in, but the QR code did not work with my hotels.com booking #. I had to call the property’s phone number for assistance, and was then told that I had to pay an additional USD 35 “utilities” fee before they would provide the access code. This mandatory fee was not disclosed in my Hotels.com booking details or receipt, which showed that the reservation had been fully paid. Requiring guests to pay an undisclosed charge after arrival and before providing access is not transparent or acceptable. The property should ensure that its self-check-in system works and clearly disclose all mandatory fees before guests book.

Beware additional nightly facility fee despite hotels.com listing price as "total with taxes and fees", technically listed but in confusingly-written fine-print. No-one staffing the property at front desk: instead, uses convoluted online check-in process that sends you keypad codes for property and room access; plus phone support for the hotel is an offshore call center.
