The area around the Hyatt did not feel entirely safe in the evening. We saw several cars with broken windows and a few strange characters. The hotel itself is ok but does not offer enough seating for breakfast, there is very little space right next to the buffet and they squeezed in too many tables and chairs. Come early for breakfast and bring a sweater the aircon is set really low. The gym had Peloton bikes which I really liked. Overnight parking at $65 is way too much and should be offered at a lower rate.

Only spent a night here with my husband and kids. Overall it was good. We were unaware of the 65.00 charge a night for parking until we arrived and found out the hotel sits on a very narrow street and you either have to download an app or use the valet, which is$65 a night. The pool was nice and the complementary breakfast was pretty good.

I did not like that there was no parking garage. Valet parking was extra. We had to park further and pay for parking and it didnt feel safe walking from parking lot to hotel. There was no microwave inside room. We couldnt adjust AC. And the curtains were too thin. Breakfast was delicious, tho. Check in was fast.

It was really hard to find the entrance. GPS took us to the NY Ave door where there is no parking or even a place to pull in. The entrance is on the other side of the building on another street. The area is very crowded and the streets are very narrow. It took us about 1/2 an hour after we found the hotel to find the entrance. AND the only parking is valet parking for $65/night.

Overall the hotel is good. 5 minutes walk to train station and a lot of different stores and food places to eat. Room was good, service was good. It was nice that there was a breakfast downstairs, just not enough sitting area to enjoy it. Would definitely come back if I happen to come back to Washington DC again. We didnt use the parking because $65 plus tax a day was too much where as t minutes walk its half the price which we used. Great tip (download spothero app)

This has to be the most badly run hotel I’ve stayed in. Individual staff were lovely, but the problems started as soon as I arrived. All doors are locked and require a key swipe 24/7, which tells you something about the location. Staff are meant to release doors using the intercom, but they were all so busy, it took a couple of attempts. The reason why became apparent at check in - the key writing system wasn’t working. I assumed this was an unfortunate one off, but when I sympathized with the receptionist who had to accompany everyone to their room, she said she was used to it, because it happened all the time. The other major problem was that I selected the hotel because it had a restaurant. I knew I’d be working in my room in the evenings, and didn’t want to have to spend the time going out. However, the bar/restaurant didn’t open for the entirety of my 5 night stay, and reception staff kept saying that it should be open, but it never did. They shouldn’t be advertising a facility like that if it’s not operating, and if an unexpected problem arises then communicate it with your own staff and customers. I would not stay here again.

The rooms were cleaned well every other day. The breakfast selection good. None of the ice makers on three different floors worked for over a week. Not much street parking around and no self parking at the hotel. I’m sure the booking mentioned $40 parking but all they had was $65 per night valet parking. Outrageous price for a paying hotel guest. Also I think the booking mentioned an indoor pool and a rooftop terrace but there were none. Just a closed outdoor pool that was closed for the season. I don’t even know where that would have been. No outdoor space in the hotel except the roof which was not accessible

Visited 7/1/23-7/4/23. Hotel is under construction. No pool/restaurant open. Very understaffed. Staff onsite was nice and did their best. Valet took forever as only one person for all guests. Room was never serviced. Breakfast was good.

Lobby was clean but room was not clean at all...hair in the shower blankets were nasty and there was a huge stain on the couch... breakfast was nice and man that took our bags was very nice! There was a domestic argument when we returned one night that resulted in them breaking a wine bottle...not in a great location for walking had to Uber everywhere....

Our bathroom door was broken. One of the blinds was broken. We saw roaches in the room. We had to request sheets for the pull out sofa bed…that mattress was extremely filthy. I wouldn’t stay here again.

This hotel looks nice when you walk in but the rooms are extremely old, the carpets are filthy and the bathrooms are dirty. There were dirty towels in the bathroom when I arrived and there were fake press-on nails on the floor. The last straw for me was a roach in the bathroom. I left immediately and went to stay at another hotel. I will never stay at a Hyatt ever again. A horrible experience!

The A/C was not great and it was one of the hottest days in DC. They brought us 2 oscillating fans to help but it could only do so much. No cold water for a cold shower either. The room also had a few outlets and lights that were not working correctly. The breakfast was really good and the lobby was always cold and welcoming after a hot day. The staff was good too.

The front desk staff was friendly, but I was disappointed with the room arrangement. I booked a high-rise room, but when I checked in, I was told that there were no rooms available. I was assigned a room on the third floor. The air conditioner in the room was very noisy, which affected my sleep. The soundproofing of the room was very poor, and the sound from the next room could be heard completely. When I checked in, only the ice machine on the 12th floor was working. In the summer with a temperature of up to 100 degrees, this was really bad! In the morning, we had breakfast in the lobby. The food was rich, and the staff would replenish the food and drinks in time, but I was sitting for about half an hour for breakfast, and I was bitten by mosquitoes three times on my legs. This was not a good experience.

Parking was terrible. Struggled to find it (behind hotel) waited 30+ minutes for valet, had to circle block multiple times bc there wasn’t anywhere to wait. Neighborhood didn’t seem safe, sirens every hour all night long. Cost $65+ tax! AC didn’t work right. Beds were hard. Breakfast was barely warm. I would recommend staying a little further out of the city & using public transportation.

The Wi-Fi was very poor. I could not use my phone or laptop in my room. The room was clean, the bathroom shower needs an upgrade. I wish there were more food options, the menu at night was limited to a small pizza. The free breakfast was crowded and chaotic, but the kitchen service staff were wonderful.

Standard downtown hotel. Excellent free breakfast. Comfortable but not exceptional rooms. Big problem is noise. THere is road noise day and night. Adjacent building under construction with noise starting at 6 AM. Night time very noisy due to bars and restaurants nearby. Room has white noise machine, which allowed me to sleep. Area not safe for walking at night. good police presence, but armed robbery of a colleague occurred before my arrival.

Mixed feelings about this review. Took my family for a weekend in DC. It was busy, lots of guests checking in but did not have to wait long. The room was great except the temperature was a bit warm. As we headed out for dinner we requested to have the AC checked. Two hours later came to a room with a heater on blast. Had to keep the door open for some cool air to come in. The service attendant did very little to tackle the problem, he didn't seem very knowledgeable. I went down to the lobby to speak to the manager who proceeded to tell me that due to over capacity there was nothing he could do for me and my family. I don't blame the manager, they era thrown into these situations without much help from corporate, there's very little that they can do. After waiting for about 30 minutes as I was ready to cancel my stay, Jason, the manager was able to find a room with a working AC in which we stayed for the duration of our weekend as planned. Big thanks to Jason for all his patience and hard work this weekend while I was waiting I saw how hard he was working to meet guests' needs. As for the hotel administrators, you need to do a better job making sure your hotel is serviced by competent staff and there's spare capacity to resolve issues like this one.
Mixed feelings about this review. Took my family for a weekend in DC. It was busy, lots of guests checking in but did not have to wait long. The room was great except the temperature was a bit warm. As we headed out for dinner we requested to have the AC checked. Two hours later came to a room with a heater on blast. Had to keep the door open for some cool air to come in. The service attendant did very little to tackle the problem, he didn't seem very knowledgeable. I went down to the lobby to speak to the manager who proceeded to tell me that due to over capacity there was nothing he could do for me and my family. I don't blame the manager, they era thrown into these situations without much help from corporate, there's very little that they can do. After waiting for about 30 minutes as I was ready to cancel my stay, Jason, the manager was able to find a room with a working AC in which we stayed for the duration of our weekend as planned. Big thanks to Jason for all his patience and hard work this weekend while I was waiting I saw how hard he was working to meet guests' needs. As for the hotel administrators, you need to do a better job making sure your hotel is serviced by competent staff and there's spare capacity to resolve issues like this one.

Front Desk staff were friendly and funny. Enjoyed our interaction. Breakfast was super awesome in comparision to many other hotels I've stayed at. Quite the variety... pancakes, eggs, grits, fresh fruit, etc.. The room was great. The view! Everything was nice and clean. Spacious. Will definitely be staying here again for my random trips to DC.

This hotel does not represent the Hyatt name. Disappointed with the hotel condition. Our bathroom lock was not working and the bathroom door bangs to the wall when it slides close. Towels were so thin that you can use them as rags. Beds were not comfortable. Valet parking was the only option so we had to park across the street which is quite a walk. The only saving grace was the staff. Everyone was helpful especially Jerome.They are helpful and they follow through.

Good location near places to eat from. BUT the best of this hotel is the staff, from management to maintenance to the Chef. Andrew, Kanisha, Kaylin and Gunay at the front desk were professional and attentive. Devonte and Daniel were always polite to assist my needs. Mr C, Mr Jo and John in the kitchen were extraordinary with the breakfast, not only with the presentation that made it attractive to our eyes, but the hot and delicious variety they placed every morning that really got our tummies happy and full. Thank you to everyone involved with the service provided, even Emmanuel at the valet parking and we didn’t have a car LOL. This is our second home to stay for our future vacation. We recommend it.

Didn’t like the attitude of the staff at arrival.. also I requested maintenance in my room and never came, I book for 5 people and requested extra sheets that never received .. Room not very clean and window shade broken. Even for one night the experience was not very pleasant.

This has to be the most badly run hotel I’ve stayed in. Individual staff were lovely, but the problems started as soon as I arrived. All doors are locked and require a key swipe 24/7, which tells you something about the location. Staff are meant to release doors using the intercom, but they were all so busy, it took a couple of attempts. The reason why became apparent at check in - the key writing system wasn’t working. I assumed this was an unfortunate one off, but when I sympathized with the receptionist who had to accompany everyone to their room, she said she was used to it, because it happened all the time. The other major problem was that I selected the hotel because it had a restaurant. I knew I’d be working in my room in the evenings, and didn’t want to have to spend the time going out. However, the bar/restaurant didn’t open for the entirety of my 5 night stay, and reception staff kept saying that it should be open, but it never did. They shouldn’t be advertising a facility like that if it’s not operating, and if an unexpected problem arises then communicate it with your own staff and customers. I would not stay here again.

We arrived early in the morning and were checked in by a very rude girl at the front desk. She did not advise us that there was an early check in fee of $100 but instead just gave us our keys and said our rooms were ready. There was also a problem with the nightly rate because our rate was different than that of the rate she saw on her screen. She was not helpful and said there was nothing she could do about it. We later found out about the early check in fee but it was too late since we had already checked in. We also had a problem with a homeless man chasing us from the front entrance of the hotel and we had to run down the block to get away from him. The area is very dangerous and we did not feel safe! There were many other issues with our room rates and getting charged the wrong fees and extra fees for our rooms. There were four rooms in our group. Will NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN

Breakfast was great! The staff were friendly and helpful. But we got locked out of the hotel twice due to an upgrade in the hotel's internet network, while feeling unsafe outside. It was our first visit to Washington, DC, traveling from Florida. My family and I were disappointed about how dirty the city was. The fact that we had to use our room keys to go in and out of the property gave us a feeling of being unsafe. Parking was not only very limited and expensive but totally unsafe as each morning when we got out of the rooms cars parked outside had been broken into. Also, there were lots of people walking on the street using and dealing drugs without hiding it. There were people sleeping in tents in the middle of the city and lots of people asking for money to use drugs. There were also several very large signs posted downgrading the country's President (however we feel about politics, I think we should always be respectful to a country's Commander and Chief, especially in the nation's capital). The hotel is walking distance from the U.S. capitol, the White House, the National Mall and many monuments; also, there are lots of eating options nearby, and the city is pedestrian and bikers' friendly. Although we had those outing options, we felt unsafe to go eat or walk, so we limited our stay to daytime hours during busy times.

The hotel itself is ok but does not offer enough seating for breakfast, there is very little space right next to the buffet and they squeezed in too many tables and chairs. Come early for breakfast and bring a sweater the aircon is set really low. The gym had Peloton bikes which I really liked. Overnight parking at $65 is way too much and should be offered at a lower rate.

The property we assumed would be central, as it said near Union Station. But unfortunately this was not the case. Nothing around, you have to walk some distance before you get to the shops. Overall the hotel is good. 5 minutes walk to train station and a lot of different stores and food places to eat. Room was good, service was good. It was nice that there was a breakfast downstairs, just not enough sitting area to enjoy it. Would definitely come back if I happen to come back to Washington DC again. We didnt use the parking because $65 plus tax a day was too much where as t minutes walk its half the price which we used. Great tip (download spothero app)

It is at nice place and have so many nearby places to eat.. walkable to metro.
