Continental breakfast was great and fabulous pet amenities and area for the pets to play in.

Room was okay and staff was all right. However, breakfast was a joke. There is no active kitchen or restaurant - they just delivered to our room some prepackaged boiled eggs, yogurt packs, string cheese, cheerios box and milk, all prepackaged. Only consolation was a single pastry person from Olsen's, which was not bad. Had I known how the breakfast experience was going to be, I would have booked any of the numerous inns which were less expensive that did not offer breakfast.

Royal Copenhagen Inn has become our go to place when we stay in Solvang twice a year. Our room is spacious and comfortable with two easy chairs and a desk. When weather is good, we sit outside on the sheltered balcony and people watch. The sheets are soft as are the four generous pillows and if you need extra towels, as I always do, they are happy to provide. Breakfast is dropped at your door every morning. Depending on what you check off, expect two hard boiled eggs(and peeled) eggs, yogurt, two cheese sticks and a large Danish pastry as well as canned orange juice and tea or coffee. I appreciate the shower includes a floor mat so you don't need to worry about it being slippery and the hair dryer does an excellent quick job. The Inn's location is perfect! Turn right, cross the street and dine at Osteria Grapolo for excellent Italian. Turn left and walk to the end of the park into Fitzpatrick's Tavern for good pub fare. Lots of good restaurants all around. For shopping a must is Fairy & Frog, where you walk into an enchanted wonderland of figurines, hair wreaths, enough rocks and crystals to stock a lapidary shop, dragon figures of all sizes, decks of affirmation cards and if you want to buy something for a child you are so, so lucky! I also enjoy Pickett Fences across and down a bit from the Inn and the newish SYV Thrift Shop at the corner of Mission and First Street, near Fitzpatrick's. It benefits local nonprofits like Meals on Wheels and is a treasure chest of finds.

This place was ideal for us- we did the annual Santa Barbara half marathon & Wine event.. and the location was perfect for it! It’s steps away from all the festivities and the place is super clean and has all the important amenities covered.. There’s a nice sized fridge, no microwave, which is fine. And the coffee in the room is loose coffee grounds that get poured into a filter with steamed water from a kettle. TASTED GREAT!! If you’re needing an elevator ASK FOR ONE! Not sure there is one in the place. The steps led to our upstairs room and the room was great! ZERO complaints, super roomy and comfy! I will make sure and do my best to stay here moving forward anytime I’m in Solvang. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
