Modern en zeer net hotel. Perfecte locatie. Parkeren was perfect achter het hotel. Hadden alleen het idee dat de hotelkamer nog niet helemaal afgemaakt was; het plafond zag eruit alsof het zojuist was opgeleverd, betonnen platen met allemaal nog gaten erin.

Room was clean and ready on time. Nice sized room, and we liked having the toilet, shower and sink all in separate areas. Hotel had a modern feel, everything felt new. We got there early and appreciated the luggage storage so we could explore the town. Only issue was with check-in, as booking through hotels.com didn't give us their internal booking number which we needed for the self check-in, as the hotel is primarily set to for self check-in. Fortunately somebody did come by to look this up.

I really enjoyed my stay at VIC, rooms was very comfortable and the team was very helpfull. Femke and Rit were attentive and happy to help. Hopefully I will be able to return next year for another stay. Also the small store below was very convenient.

I arrived early in the morning. It was too early to get the room. So I just checked in and left my luggage in the locked luggage room. The staff kindly told me that I would get the key to the room when I returned in the evening. However, when I returned in the evening, the door was locked and nobody was there. The email I received confirming my reservation gave no information about closing times or entry rules. Another guest with the key opened the door and I was able to enter, only to find that no one was there and that my luggage was locked in the luggage room. Knowing that the breakfast room was shared with the nearby Tulip Hotel, I went there to ask for help. The staff replied in a very rude manner that I should know that the Vic Hotel is a self-service hotel. I had not read any information about this when I booked and I wondered how I could get in without a key. However, one of the staff came to the VIC, opened the door to the luggage room and gave me the key. The room was very dark, with not enough light. So: bad information, bad organisation, too high a price for such a non-existent service. All in all a pretty bad experience.

Small but very clean room. Across the street from the train station. This hotel has a self serve lobby with check in, snacks and coffee. Our room only had one pillow per bed (2 singles that were really long in length ) I asked for more pillows and they sent them up.

I love this hotel. Basically across from the train station. Adjacent to the Tulip hotels. Very easy to walk up into town. I love being able to self check in and out. Also love the self access area to buy snacks 24hours when jet lag keeps me up unusual hours.

Funky but in a fun and actually quite tasteful way, Hotel Vic is designed to be largely online and self-service, but in fact offers the best of both worlds since staff (based at the Tulip hotel nexdoor) are often present and will arrive within a minute or two if called for. Our superior room was quiet, spacious and bright. The sequence of light switcges takes a little practice and one of the light switches also controls floor level mains sockets. Room cleaning should finish at 3pm we were told, but on two occasions this was not done although we'd requested it before that time.

This is an outstanding hotel. The rooms are spacious and cute, and very clean. The hotel is right in the middle of Leiden, right to a very picturesque windmill and intersections of several canals. The management is excellent. I forgot a bag in my room after checkout, and right when I landed from my flight, they already had sent me a message discussing how to return it. So it's a safe and wonderful management as well.

Hotel room smells really bad — I have window open all day and it still smells like an uncleaned toilet (mold? Human excrement? Dead mouse? I can’t tell). When I first got in the toilet bowl is covered with feces from the last guest I assumed. I will never go back again. I stay in hotels 100 nights every year, this is the worst I have been in years. Stay away at all cost.

Hotel is gunstige gelegen t.o.v. het station en het cenrum van Leiden. Doordat kamer verwarmd wordt met een luchtverwarming ontbreekt een stukje comfort in de vorm van vloerverwarming. Tevens blijven stofdeeltjes constant in beweging. Het personeel is vriendelijk. Schoonmaak kamer gebeurt niet automatisch. Ontbijt in de vorm van een buffet heeft voldoende keuze. De ligging is zoals een ligging in het centrum van een stad normaliter is. De omgeving is wat verkeer betreft niet extreem druk.

Super leuke hotelkamer tegenover het station. We hebben geen geluidsoverlast van het station of andere hotelgasten ervaren. Het is heerlijk op loopafstand van de binnenstad en de mooie musea. De kamer is heel comfortabel en slim ingericht. Wij vonden de stijl heel gaaf. Onze kamer was voor mensen die niet als stel gaan niet geschikt, aangezien je douche in je kamer is en er een transparante deur inzit :) Fijn dat de toilet separaat is. Er hing een mooie televisie, alleen hadden we als we niet via de chromecast keken veel haperend beeld, want gewoon tv kijken niet fijn maakt. Het gebruik van de chromecast vonden we ideaal! De kamer is van alle gemakken voorzien.

Our hotel was new, modern and trendy. Check-in was online through an oversized touch screen in reception. We had to create our own door keys on a terminal attached to the screen although we could have chosen to use an app on our phones to access the room. The entrance to the elevator gave the impression of walking through the gently breaking waves on the seashore as the real thing was projected at our feet. Dim purple fluorescent lighting was prevalent including around the window in our fifth floor bedroom overlooking the station square. The room ceiling was industrial concrete and the floor was polished cement and wood strips. The terrazzo tiles in the shower and loo were straight from Italy. Modern and moody - so unlike the area just a few hundred metres away where one of the largest working windmills in The Netherlands stands tall, looking out at the new side of town. A great hotel in a marvellous location close to the main station and old town.

The location is excellent, the staff helpful and the rooms clean. The room itself however was the worst designed hotel room we have ever had. 1. The sink in the sleeping area, not in a bathroom, meant washing shaving etc. was difficult with no space around for essential items. 2. The huge mirror was poor for shaving as it was at an angle. 3. There were no drawers only open shelves and a rail for hanging things which did not allow a full drop for my wife's dresses. 4. The television screen was gigantic and totally out of scale with the size of the room. 5. There were no bedside tables only a 'charging station' which was no use for anything, such as a glass of water, a book, etc. Quite the least user friendly we have ever experienced!

It seems there’s only 1 person ever at “reception” and there’s a “self check-in” process which is over complicated and needed the receptionist to complete for us (5). No USB ports in the room, just induction charging places which, unless you’ve got a device that uses that technology, you’re stuck. The coffee machine in the room was broken and reported as such. Nothing was done about it. The hotel design is modern funky Dutch, with a self service “honesty” shop in the reception area which included drinks, snacks & phone chargers/cables (I guess because most people brought USB charger cables for which there were no sockets in the bedroom ). Air con worked well in the bedroom, it was quiet, the bed was comfortable and the shower functional (albeit shower gel bottle empty…) No restaurant facilities. Location is a short walk from Leiden Centraal bus & rail… a 10-15min walk into the old city. Value for money…? average/OK.

De locatie van het hotel is goed. Makkelijk parkeren en in de directe omgeving mogelijkheid om iets te gaan drinken of eten. Kamer was schoon en netjes. Bed was fijn. Voorzieningen in de kamer waren prima in orde. Beetje vreemd is dat de wasbak in de hotelkamer staat. Enige minpuntje zijn de spiegels. Deze zijn wat vreemd geplaatst. Er is geen mogelijkheid tot privacy want door de spiegels kan iedereen in de kamer meekijken wat je aan het doen bent. Zelfs als je onder de douche staat.

This hotel was located very conveniently across from the train station. The self check-in system didn't work for us (it asked for a code that wasn't provided when our booking was confirmed online), so we had to call someone to help us. But, when there is staff in the lobby, they are always friendly and helpful. Our room was great--spacious, comfortable bed, nice view. Interestingly, the outside of the building is quite soundproof from the noise of the city, but the interior walls are not--we were able to hear sneezing, snoring, and the alarm in the morning of the people in rooms next to us. It was convenient having a mini fridge in the room, and the shower was really nice. Would stay here again, but will bring earplugs next time in case of noisy neighbors!

Some two employees opened our door midnight. At first I was scared it was somebody not working at the hotel, but luckily it wasn’t! They apologized instantly and left. We are two girls alone on a trip in Europe, so this got us really scared - we didn’t feel safe the rest of the night. Due that we didn’t really get sleep and the day after was horrible trying to stay awake in the train so nobody would steal our stuff. And no, we did not get offered any discounts - just a sorry, which is fine but still: how does this happen? Also it was a bit noisy at night, but that might just have been that we were so awake. However, nothing bad about the room, check-in or breakfast. Check in was very quick and easy.

Very functional (close to center and train station) and clean. Comfortable bed. Room layout was quite original (sink in the bedroom), but one element was not great : a large structural column right in the middle of the room, obstructing passage around the bed. Staff was extremely responsive and helpful when requested. However, the fact that staff at reception is "time-shared" with nearby hotel, and that a fully-automated station is in the main lobby made it for a slightly awkward check-in process.

Nice and convenient location. Nice and clean rooms and the breakfast at the nextdoor restautrant was nice too. There are, however, nicer hotels for the same price in Leiden. The check-in was a bit odd as it's unmanned and required you to use your booking code, which is NOT the same booking code as Hotels provides you with.

The property was in a very good location. The decor seemed a little on the romantic/sexual side of things, but it was very accommodating. The whole building was very clean and the staff was extremely nice. We arrived late and the door was locked and when we buzzed, we had someone come around and get us to get around. The staff was very nice and took us back over to the self check-in kiosks and it went very smoothly after that. We did not have any issues at all the entire stay.

When we arrived we found it was an automatic check-in which required a reservation number. I did not have one (found out later it had been emailed after I left home and I never check emails when away - that's why i go away - to leave it all behind!! A lady appeared and gave us the numbers and we then had to compete on a keypad all our details - it took forever and was far worse than just speaking to the desk clerk. Got there in the end with her help. so she could have done it anyway. Everything else fine - check-in awful!!

Hotels.com should be ashamed of the picture used for this hotel. This hotel is on a busy road junction close to the station not next to a beautiful waterway. It’s a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest canal. Nothing wrong with hotel/ room/ staff etc if you want to be close to station and don’t mind the loud traffic noise 24 hours a day

Great location for the train station and bus to Keuchenhof. Fun style, clean and safe and despite being outside a traffic junction we weren’t disturbed by any outside noise. We had a small fridge in the room, a decent hairdryer and the mini market downstairs was handy. We had a great stay; it met our needs for exploring Leiden, jumping on the train/ bus to go exploring elsewhere.

We selected Hotel VIC because of the proximity to Leiden Centraal. We traveled by train 8 of the 11 days we were in the Netherlands, so having the station so close was a big bonus. The room was all that we needed it to be and the bed was wonderful!

The accommodation was very modern and clean. The location of VIC hotel was amazing. Next to the station and we could walk to Naturalis and the centre of leiden. The breakfast was at Tulip Inn. This was very busy and there where not enough tables for everybody. We had room 107 next to the street, but there was no noise and we sleep very well.

Perfect location but not when there is a festival on so do not stay around 3rd October . Flashing lights & Ibiza music 🙈 Had 2 sleepless nights but were quickly moved to a room at the back of hotel once i mentioned it to staff . Also she put a kettle in room with english tea which was a nice touch . Complementary breakfast would have been nice as 19€ was a bit pricey
