Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya Adults Only All-Inclusive

The staff was awesome, especially Sandy, Omar and The Ferminator. Rooms were very roomy and clean. I liked the small size of the resort, very easy to walk around. The drinks were good and food also. The only negative was the pool needs to be refinished as it was rough on the toes. Would definitely go again

Elevator was down during the visit but minuscule compared to everything I was offered and the staff in general. Went above and beyond everytime.

Our room was described as ocean view but it was partial ocean view, which wasn’t great, but there were so many positives, we let that one go. Overall, the resort is top notch. The pool area is great. The beach is quiet and enjoyable although the water wasn’t great (a ton of sea weed). We believe this is the case all over Playa del Carmen anyway.

The fine dining food options lived up to expectations. Having delicious food in an all inclusive resort is key and their service, very friendly staff, plenty of food options, and high quality food was pleasantly surprising. Secondly, i cant talk enough about how relaxing and wonderful the Zen Spa is. I would recommend the check in package which gets a couple a 50 minute massage followed by hydrotherapy and a body scrub you apply yourself before doing hydrotherapy. We enjoyed it so much we went again at the end of our trip before we left. Would absolutely stay here again.

We really enjoyed how small the property was, and how good the service was at the bars, the restaurants, and the pool. Julio at Legends Sports Bar is a legend himself when it comes to cocktails, and his mezcal wisdom is unmatched. The mosquitos in the tropical view swim-out was a bummer, but other than that, it was a fantastic experience.

If I could give more stars I would. We did a lot of research before selecting this one. This exceeded all expectations. The resort was impeccably run. The quality of the food and drinks amazing. The beach was beautiful, clean and relaxing. We enjoyed a cabana one day by the pool. It was our first time at an all inclusive but from speaking with other guests this scored high on the list. The spa was also high quality and we loved our couples massage. But most importantly the staff is 10 star. Thank you ANTONIO, Irving, Alexander, Norma, Miguel, Adolfo, all the bartenders at the social, and really everyone who worked there. Just too many to mention. Your welcoming kindness did not go unnoticed. And of course the Expedia VIP access was appreciated. Thanks for a great stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hyatt Zilara Rivera Myan! 4.2 stars! This is a solid 4 star property! The rooms were super clean, cool and the beds were comfortable. The food was great and the drinks were delicious! The breakfast buffet was fresh and tasty with lots of traditional Mexican options as well as American foods. The juices and omelet station are a definite win first thing in the morning. Dinner was the best at Capri restaurant, and Tempest for hibachi. We went to each twice! The staff are kind and helpful, so bring you tip money became they deserve it. The drinks at the upstairs lobby bar were my favorite. They do it correctly! The coffee an ice-cream cafe are delightful treats. The only little area in need of improvement is the cleaning of the pool. I saw straws, bandaids, hair, black hair nets, unclogged drains and plastic items at the bottom of the pool. The young man cleaning was scrolling on his phone and missed the most important part, which is to actually Clean and remove debris. The old guys swept around the edges, but was not enough. They should increase the pool chemicals. The activity team is awesome! Each day there were fun water activities poolside. The music was upbeat and diverse for all to enjoy. The nightlife was a great way to end the evening. The magic show, dating game, and disco were a blast! Hyatt Zilara Rivera Myan is simply wonderful. Great value, great adults only vacation. We will visit again!

This resort is super special! Super clean, newer looking, fabulous staff, gorgeous pool, good food, and white sand beaches!

The property is immaculate and very well kept. The rooms are spacious and the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The check in process was very quick and efficient and we were upgraded to an ocean view room because we were Expedia customers. My only complaint is that the day before we left housekeeping did a horrible job with our room! They left us no waters or towels, and barely cleaned the room and all the other days the service was immaculate. This to me was unacceptable. Plenty of beach chairs but cabanas are an extra charge and so are the coconut drinks. Capri Grill has the best Italian food (the mushroom risotto is to die for) and the Baja fish tacos at Lola Beach are the best I’ve had anywhere. The staff at the Coffee Republic were very friendly and always made the best lattes! Overall we had a great time and the staff was wonderful and made our stay a memorable one.

We were definitely looking forward to our stay at the Hyatt Zilara. We picked this hotel because of the reviews and its walkability. We stayed in a swim out pool view room; which was a very nice room and a convenient walk to everything. However, we were disappointed that there was poop the whole week on the patio outside our room that was never cleaned; some of it getting into the pool. The swim out pool was also not cleaned every day and the water was a greenish color one day. Not sure if the filter was working. We wished the hotel paid more attention to the cleanliness of this area considering we paid much more for these rooms. We did call on our first day to have the chaise outside our room cleaned because they were also dirty. Unfortunately, the seafood restaurant was also closed the entire time we were there (due to renovations) which made our options of places to eat very limited. We only had the Italian and buffet which was also closed certain days. We were not crazy about the Asian food. Overall, the food was just ok. The grounds were well maintained and the view and breeze in the lobby was very relaxing. Our favorite part was lying by the beach every day and just enjoying the view. Not sure we would return, and if we did decide to return, we would not book the swim out and would confirm that the seafood restaurant and all the restaurants are open.

My husband and I stayed in a tropical view swim out room and it was worth the upgrade! The pool was very private, had a peek of ocean view and was perfect for relaxing. The room and bathroom were spacious with lots of storage. The mini bar was well stocked and we did get room service one day and it was quick and tasty. I found the bed really comfortable and you had the option to change pillows etc through their housekeeping app. The restaurants at the hotel were amazing (however it was confusing on when the buffet was open) and the food was fantastic. Lots of choice at the buffet at breakfast and Lola Grill and the beach bar were awesome for lunch. The desserts were all really, really good as well as the tacos! The coffee shop was a huge plus and we went there a couple of times a day! The bars were all well stocked and the employees at the bars and coffee shop were awesome. There were always tons of chairs by the pool and on the beach. The activities were fun, but not too crazy. The service by the pool and on the beach was excellent as well.The beach was gorgeous white sand with tons of space for everyone. The water in front of the hotel was a bit murky, but if you walked 5 minutes to the right, it was crystal clear, not too wavy and so warm and perfect! You can wander forever along the beach. We had an early arrival and weren’t able to get our room until 3:00, but we were able to use the facilities all day. Sales pitch at check in isn’t pushy, but did happen.

Everything was amazing until it rained one night. Was very unaware that the swim out rooms flood. I was standing in the walkway doing my makeup, thought I heard rain or even a waterfall, looked down and our room was flooding. Cleaned that up and used all of our towels, to only walk towards the back of the room where the sliding door is… floor full of water! Oh and the ceiling was leaking too!! Staff was quick to move our room and come in to fix the issue.

There are these animals that roam around and one got into my room and surprised me when I got out of the shower. It had gotten into my garbage because I had left my slider open about 3 inches. No one told us to keep our sliders closed, but these creatures roam around, then they took their time getting to my room to clean up the mess from the Animal. My AC ran nonstop and my room would get to about 50° through the night so I had to keep turning my AC on and off. I told them about this. They came to my room twice still couldn’t fix it when I told them About all of this, they offered to change rooms or offer me some kind of compensation. The eating situation did not offer a lot of options. Everyone there is very friendly and tries to help which I appreciate. I just would’ve liked to seen more action.

We just back tonight from Hyatt Zilara. Here is my review. Overall 4.5 out of 5 stars. The Good: VERY FRIENDLY STAFF. Our butler Sofia was so super helpful. But everyone on the premises were very nice. The property is very clean. The staff work hard to keep this way. The pol service waiters were great. The room was very clean and in good condition. The spa is next level good. Best experience of any spa ever for my wife and I. The Food overall was very good. All had great flavor and prepared wonderfully. So where is the other 1/2 star? As other reviews will tell you, the restaurant choices are VERY LIMITED! Only four on the property so if you’re thinking of going for a lengthy amount of time, it will be a problem. The Japanese place is the only required reservation and was a little disappointing but food was good. Portion size was not great. The other part is weather because…. It rained the entire time but they didn’t have really good indoor activities available. There are a few things to do but the activity people should be more proactive and they just weren’t. People that had been there for several days with the rain were clearly aggravated with really not much to do. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. We may not return soon but would consider it for sure.

We enjoyed our stay. The food and drinks were great. Our only issue was that our tv would not power off, so it stayed on the entire trip. Also, the ceiling fan only has one speed, which is Mach 1. The property was. It overcrowded, which was nice. It is a small enough property to make getting around very simple.

We expected this hotel Zilara to be just as good as the one in Cancun Hotel District, but it fell short. The property is a bit dated. The hot water in our room did not work properly. It was reported twice and when the maintenance person would come they would temporarily fix the issue then go back to cold water. The staff was not as attentive as the hotel Zilara in Cancun are. The shows were very limited and not as enjoyable. The food was not tasty.

Staff was amazing

The staff was incredible. We had an emergency during our stay and it was all hands on deck. I’m so grateful for their help and beyond that the property is beautiful, laid back, and I will be back.

The Staff at the resort was above all others. I don’t even know where to start, on day one Daniel at the pool made us feel so welcomed. Daniel was absolutely amazing, friendly, attentive. We have never had as good of service by the whole crew there, Sandy, Omar, Adilita, Miguel, Viviana and the names go on. Every request was made with a smile. We were the celebrating my mother’s 90’s birthday and the went out of their was to make it special. Outstanding service. Food was delicious. 100% recommend this resort. It’s a smaller resort and that’s what we were looking for.

Great property and friendly staff. My only callout is the staff who try to sell you upgrades to visit other resorts. I don’t think it’s appropriate to guilt trip you and make you feel inadequate for politely declining the first 3 times. As someone in marketing, I don’t think this tactic is right at all. Thankfully the rest of the stay turned things around because that was my first impression of the resort.

Ok, so first of all I have been to other Hyatt location but this one is the worst of all. No customer service at all. The place is only 20% filled but they are running out of alcohol. Its really unheard of. We have been drinking one particular type of whisky from 5pm to 8pm and all of the sudden they said they dont have it anymore. I wanted some of my friends who were visiting another resort close by to just come visit us for like an hour or less without using any of the resorts accommodations, I was told that they have to pay $90/person to come in. This is not my first rodeo. I have been using Hyatts locations for many years. This is the first time I have experienced this type of service. If im paying for the something at asked pricing without any negotiations then I deserve the service. Please book other locations. Manager said he cannot do anything. Not even "Sorry"

Overall, we had a nice stay. The room was beautiful and we loved the swim out pool. Room service was amazing. We had the floating breakfast which was fun! My room was spotless and restocked daily. Couple of things: Luggage took 3 hours to deliver to room and they delivered to the room next door. We even called twice to ask why it hadn’t been delivered. We would’ve taken the luggage with us but they wouldn’t let us. Language barrier : a few employees didn’t speak any English but would reply Ok, I got you. But nothing would happen. This happened when ordering the floating breakfast, the luggage and the missing wine from our friends room. We asked multiple times for these items. We figured out later it was a language barrier. Missing wine : both our friends and us bought the VIP package from Expedia which included sparkling wine. Our room had a bottle but theirs did not. We later found out at the pool bar it went to another room and from a conversation with another guest. We asked 3 times for a bottle which was finally received. See comment above. Sunday evening, all of the restaurants were closed except two (even the buffet was closed) and the wait was 45 minutes. Minor things but when booking a Hyatt resort and the amount we paid, we felt these things shouldn’t have happened. Everyone was nice and friendly. Check in and out was easy.

The buffet for dinner was below average and for breakfast it was “ok.” We felt like the staff wasn’t as attentive. Very hard to get a cup of coffee in the morning at the breakfast buffet and getting drinks at the pool restaurant was also tough. Drinks are quite terrible. My husband was drinking and he couldn’t taste even a little bit of alcohol and I was pregnant and the mocktails were just pure sugar and not very tasty. The pina coladas tasted like bubble gum soap. I couldn’t drink it. The best part was the coffee bar. There was a morning barista and night barista. Both ladies were lovely and so sweet. One made amazing designs with the foam for cappuccinos. We ended up leaving this location early due to a promotion we received by going on a marketing presentation. Overall will not be coming back to this Hyatt location.

Most staff was friendly. Some were not. We were referred to their app to reserve cabanas, but it did not work. Service at the restaurants were mid and not enough to accomodate the amount of people staying at the resort.

We were impressed from the second we drove up. Everyone was wonderful and very helpful. The pool is huge and you never have to fight over a seat or even sit next to anyone. The beach is easy and beautiful. The restaurants serve the best food I’ve had at any resort. We felt very centrally located. We were in Cancun and Playa De Carmen within 20 min. So easy to the ferries and shopping. I’m already looking at bookings for next year. Must mention Johanna was a great first impression helper without any push.

This is a wonderful property for some relaxing downtime. There are plenty of options for outside excursions, and Playa del Carmen is a short taxi ride away for shopping and dining experiences. The food available at the resort was decent. The food all had beautiful presentation but flavor was sometimes disappointing. Over all we would choose to stay here again! Wonderful beach area, pool area was clean and well maintained and the grounds of the resort were gorgeous.

Definitely not walkable and no shopping ot restaurants around. However, there is really no need to keave the resort. They have anything you could want. Safe, quiet. Staff were great. Pretty good alcohol selection. Food was good over all. Very nice relaxed atmosphere. We really enjoyed our stay.

The resort was ok. The drinks were good but the food was mediocre. Beach was unusable ( I recognize this isn’t the hotels fault) but the pool was fun. Never any issues getting chairs.

The hotel is in the smaller side. Not much to do in or around the hotel. However, if you’re looking to just relax and enjoy the beach, it’s perfect.

This hotel has everything you need for a relaxing experience. It feels secluded and intimate as it is off the main road and commercial areas. The staff works hard to pamper you. The beach is not the nicest, but not too bad either. Beware of jelly fish, they can hurt you seriously. Maybe it is seasonal. Lots of sea grass as well. We were there the last week of November. Other than that, had an amazing time!

Great relaxing resort. Only two problems. Only had one staff member checking in on Sunday around 5pm for a larger group. Drinks were not always consistent. Other than that, we would definitely go back. Food was excellent and coffee shop was amazing.

The all inclusive dining was below average quality with limited choices for room service. No beef or chicken tacos, nachos chips are too thick and hard. Strawberry tart is too hard. Hamburgers were tasteless and fries were greasy. I did not like the taste and texture of the fish or pork tacos.

The resort was beautiful and the staff were friendly and responsive. The food however, was not very good and there are not enough dining options. They have a buffet that is open daily for breakfast… it was what you would expect from a breakfast buffet. They had an Italian restaurant and let’s just say the food here was comparable to chef boyardee.. no I’m not joking. The seafood restaurant outside we only ate at once, we ordered surf n turf which was supposed to be filet and shrimp. The meat was horrible and had some kind of red sauce poured over it. I had to spit it out. The shrimp was not deveined. Our server here was horrible and rude. So, we did not go back. They have an Asian restaurant that requires a reservation for hibachi and sushi. And you can’t have sushi and hibachi at the same time … you have to choose one or the other. I thought this was ridiculous. I felt hungry all the time because there was no other options for food. The finally opened the buffet for dinner the last night we were there. In my opinion… they should have have more food options. I would not stay here again because of this.

To start I am writing this view to bless all the folks who don’t have the ability to see this place in person prior to visiting. I had to work off of the reviews prior to coming here as I was researching which resort to choose for my honeymoon while I was on deployment in the military. I will lay out this review plainly with pros/cons in a way so I would know the unseen thing/way things work prior to choosing to spend potentially thousands of dollars. Pro: the valet service was great if you had a rental car. Check in was smooth but a problem happened. Con: we upgraded rooms to an “ocean view room” for 20 dollars more per night equaling 80 per night but when we went into the room there was a structure overhangs in the way to block our view of the pool and ocean except the horizon line. Pro: the room was clean on the inside and met expectation. Con: there are raccoon like creatures called the “Coatis” that will come into your room eat your food, lay in your bed, pee and poop in the sheets and more if you leave your door open or your balcony door open so they tell you you have to keep it double locked closed which basically defeats the purpose of the balcony. Personally my wife and I like to have the door open to listen to the waves but you can’t or else a raccoon will ruin your life.
