St Charles Inn, Superior Hotel

A very comfortable hotel with a unique New Orleans flavor. The staff people were professional and friendly. Our dog was welcomed but there is a pet fee.

Great stay. Out of the high traffic areas but close enough to grab a ride on the street car and go on an adventure. Very neat and comfortable hotel. Street car stop being near by and a gas station within walking distance was great. Easy check in and secure parking.

Free gated parking is basically unheard of in New Orleans, then the hotel was clean , rooms nice and st Charles is such a cool street to stay on . I’ll be back

We had a wonderful stay, will definitely be back again. Price and convenience to the street car where the draw for us, we really enjoyed being away from all the noise of the French Quarter. My only complaint is the elevator broke during our stay, this is to be expected in an old hotel. Carrying our heavy suite cases down 3 flights of stairs was no fun at all.

The carpeting was in poor condition and had a bad smell. The elevator was not working.

Came to NOLA for the 1st time. We picked the St Charles Inn due to its location, away from the downtown area, & its proximity to the trolley system. We used the trolley system for our traveling around. Very convenient. Elevator was broke on our arrival reflected in the 4 stars for condition. Breakfast was basic but filled the need. Parking was secured behind locked gate. Bed was comfortable. Water pressure was excellent. Wish bathroom was a bit larger but it’s an older hotel & it had what we needed. Great stay!

We chose this hotel because it had free parking on site and was convenient to the streetcar, and we were very happy with our choice. It was clean and comfortable. A nice continental breakfast was available. I would stay here again if ever in New Orleans.

Hotel was pretty nice and a good value for the cost. Deep in the heart of New Orleans but half the price of nearby hotels. Good food options nearby and on site. The only drawback was the parking garage was full and we had to park on the street. Nothing happened to the car but we were expecting secured parking.

Staff was friendly and the location is perfect. The added benefit of parking in a secured lot is rare in this area!

Such a cute property with free parking located in the beautiful Garden District of New Orleans! Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a good selection of grab and go items. Rooms were clean and inviting. This is on the street car line, so can be a bit noisy, but that adds to the charm. It was a nice change of scenery from Bourbon Street/French Quarter...

I had to live with a toilet plunger in my room and paint and chips in the tub granted they offered to move me but I was lazy! There was also something on the carpet I don't know what it was!

Very clean older hotel. Rooms were nice and great location for us. Great price point on the room and has free parking. Nice continental breakfast that was free. We highly recommend and will stay there again!

We were very pleased with our stay at the St. Charles Inn. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly.

Check in was fine. However up on getting to the room, immediately I noticed there were two full sized beds as opposed to the queen size beds posted in the listing and reservation. Then the towel rack in the bathroom broke as soon as I touched it. It just fell off the front of the sink. The bathtub had a bunch more of hair left in it. And finally we were told we could have a 12pm check out. Then the morning of we were called and told we had to be out at 11:30. I know it’s only 30 minutes. But it made a difference.

staff were very pleasant & helpful. The elevator had been broken for weeks, yet we were not notified until arrival for our non-refundable room (shouldn’t we have reasonably been notified so we could cancel our room?). The carpets on stairs & hallways were never vacuumed over 4 days, despite visible debris on the carpet the day we arrived. Would not stay there again unless cleanliness becomes a higher priority.

Continental breakfast was good, including bagels, toast, hard boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt. Nice and lite before mufaletta at Central Grocery for lunch. Room was spacious and comfortable. Full bathroom with sink, plus a vanity with sink outside the bathroom is nice for two people. Very close to streetcar stop. Daily maid service. Highly recommend.

Easy options to travel to French Quarter. Trolley and Uber are easy. Our room had two sinks - very convenient.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is beautifully decorated and very clean. It is incredibly convenient. We walked to excellent restaurants easily from the hotel. Though we chose to walk, the street cars in front of the inn would have been another great option for getting around. The fenced in, gated parking lot behind the property made us feel very safe during our stay. And though we were close to everything, it was very quiet in our room, so we got a good night’s sleep. Our only qualm with the inn was that the two beds in our room were small full beds rather than queen sized. They really weren’t big enough for two adults, even teenagers like our kids. So our boys slept on the floor & let my husband & me each have a bed to ourselves. This was probably in the property description, but we missed it until we got to the room. Even with that, though, our kids were fine & we enjoyed our stay. There were plenty of extra blankets for the boys to make pallets on the floor. The rooms are well laid out & well stocked with soap, shampoo, clean towels, etc. Having an extra sink at the entrance was nice for 4 people getting ready in the morning. The mini-fridge & the coffee maker (well stocked) were both really nice. The furniture was very elegant and gave off a New Orleans vibe, and it was nice having a desk in the room. We would stay here again.

It's a nice hotel. The rooms are a very good size. The only issue is that the smoke detectors have a flashing light that flashes every few minutes all night long. Other than that, a great stay.

Many parts of the room didn’t work. The door didn’t close all the way, the toilet seat wouldn’t stay up, and the AC didn’t cool properly unless it was turned all the way down.

The hotel is right next to the streetcar line which is very convenient. The rooms are nice and homey with a large bathroom and very comfortable beds! The breakfast items are limited, but it was nice sitting outside on the patio with our coffee and muffins watching the streetcars go by. I'd definitely stay there again when visiting NOLA!

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was very nice though the bathroom felt a bit cramped. We liked that gated parking was included.

Big spacious room, great bed, nicely located but noisy - you can hear everything on the street! That said, I really enjoyed the stay - so fun to look out your window and see the trolley go by!

Hotel room was to be a view of the city, but ended with view of a tree by the window. Bathroom heat was not working. Overall a good place.

Our stay was wonderful! Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. They remained calm and focused on making sure customers were safe when an unscheduled power shutdown happened in the city. Fantastic staff!!

Very cute little hotel right along the St. Charles streetcar line, which is very handy; we stayed with our dog for four nights and paid a little extra for a "City View," which was worth it, as we had a charming third floor view of the streetcar and dramatic trees on St. Charles. The hotel and room were not new, but are well appointed and very comfortable. The room size was plenty, and it was very convenient to have an extra sink area near the entryway. We loved having wood laminate floors (preferred -- especially in a pet friendly hotel!), a microwave, and a decent sized in-room refrigerator. The staff was all very lovely, efficient, and on hand for any needs, and there is a record player in the lobby and frequently music playing when we walked in, which we liked. The free parking lot behind the hotel was gated and required a "clicker" for entrance, and we were grateful that our vehicle was parked somewhere safe enough my husband felt comfortable leaving his golf equipment in the car at night, so we didn\'t have to lug it to the room each day. There is a cute Tex Mex restaurant attached to the hotel that was yummy, and seems very popular; you can enter the restaurant through doors in the hotel lobby, which was nice. We also ate a block away at a little neighborhood Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant, August Moon, which was fresh, cheap, and decent, and we enjoyed walking a few more blocks south to Magazine St. to check out some boutique shops and get Thai food a different night.

We stood at the counter and the staff proceeded to ignore us standing there waiting to check in. Finally checked us in and we got stuck in the elevator! Called for help and there was no answer. A poor experience.

The lobby is average (and the hallways look worn) but the rooms are really quite nice!….there is also a connected dining option to hotel, away from it all, but close to everything. Overall YES I would stay here again!

I enjoyed my stay and found the Inn very convenient for my needs - friendly and helpful staff, steps from the street car and walkable to many amenities. My room was very quiet at the end of the hall, nice clean bathroom and the bed was super comfy! The only negative I can say was my view -a roof of ductwork and pipes out one window and a wall of the adjacent hotel out the other. A small consolation for the positives of my stay. I am definitely booking here again!

Great location. It is away from all the hustle and bustle, but is a short trolley ride to Bourbon Street, and the trolley picks you up a half block from the hotel.

The hotel is located in the garden district and with the St Charles streetcar right in front you can get to any part of the city by streetcar or bus.

Wonderful location on Saint Charles Avenue, with the street car running in front. Located next-door to a fun Mexican restaurant, Superior Grill. Beautiful uptown/garden district neighborhood.

Gated parking with key fob for entry made me feel safe and relieved that i didn't need to unload the entire car upon arrival, as we were on a road trip. Lovely and helpful staff. Short walk to a market, and short Uber to downtown.

Very good location. Streetcar stop across the street. 10-15 minute ride to FQ. Go to Magazine Street this is a must see area of shopping and dining. Very safe and Cool.

Good value, easy access to tram, prime location to visit New Orleans Garden District, free parking. Each room has microwave oven, refrigerator, safe, coffee maker, shower heat lamp, etc. continental breakfast with bottled Tropicana juicy, activia yogurt and Jimmy Dean biscuits, etc.

Nice option away from French quarter, but easy trolly or taxi to get there. Restaurants within walking distance, trolly runs in front. Limited parking in secure lot. Clean rooms, Mexican restaurant/bar attached. Great ambiance, uniquely designed rooms.

this was my first time going to New Orleans and it definitely hit this hotel was perfect. It was beautiful because it was so vintage breakfast was included. I did not enjoy it that much because it was microwavable stuff. Other than that. It has a very nice restaurant. attached location was pretty convenient for us even though we had to drive but it wasn't a long drive and parking was included. It was full. We had to park outside, but there was always guards outside watching. Very good.

The property is clean and the staff is friendly and personable. Jasmine was an excellent source of reference for us during our stay! The continental breakfast is basic but free toast, fruit and coffee is always a plus. We would stay here again.

This hotel was immaculate and quaint and right on the trolley line. We really appreciated having a locked private parking area. However, the breakfast was on par with Motel 6. The Mexican restaurant in the building was excellent for dinner.

The hotel was very nice, very clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a great place to stay. I would not recommend the restaurant though. It was expensive and the food wasn’t very good.
