I enjoy staying at this hotel. Its location is good. The setting is peaceful; so is the hotel itself. Before my stays (happened a number of times) the hotel can be difficult to contact via the hotels.com site. They tend not to reply. The hotel is generally clean, but this trip, my room was only thoroughly cleaned after 5 days. Not sure why. But the difference was noticeable. Generally, I enjoy staying here, but there are some relatively easy fixes that might make it much better.

Checking in and checking out were both slow, only one person working and multiple people waiting. You have to pay for car parking. The restaurant is not big enough for the size of the property. No tables available when I went down for dinner and had to wait 20 minutes at the bar. I then heard a staff member telling the bar staff not to take any more food orders for at least 10 minutes because the kitchen had too many orders.

My stay at the hotel was an absolutely excellent and memorable experience. I was at Keele for the International Association of Byron Societies' conference, held this year in Keele Hall, and everyone who stayed at the hotel equally shares my sentiments of this being a full five star stay. Most impressively, every single staff member went above and beyond for each of us. They constantly showcased exceptional hospitality, kindness, and warm professionalism. Many of us enjoyed dinners, lunches, and breakfasts, and the menus offered great options for all. Lovely food every time. At every meal, or just time sitting and enjoying beverages and bottles of wine together, we were always impressed by every employee, who were gracious and generous. In particular, Marcin was our constant benefactor in service. So helpful, patient, and kind. And while we didn't see the kitchen staff, we certainly appreciated their flexibility and willingness to meet everyone's requests. The property itself is very beautiful, and the rooms and amenities were lovely. Outside seating and indoor dining were both fantastic. As the campus is quite large, the location of the hotel is convenient for walking, and the staff made it very easy for those needing a taxi by arranging the orders for us. I highly recommend this location. Many of us commented on how we had never thought of Keele and a holiday destination outside of the conference, and now each of us would happily look forward to coming back!
