Booked for 4 nights. The location was very good, the service at the reception was great, the rooms are excellent - very comfortable beds, great air conditioning, everything you need is there. The cleanliness was top notch. The hotel is not without faults, though: two of the 4 lifts were not working, so the waiting time for one was between 5 and 10 minutes each time. The bartender at the lobby bar was downright rude when it came to paying, demanding a tip (common practice in Romania, but the way he demanded it was unpleasant). The rooms allow people to smoke on the balcony, so if you stay higher up - you get all the cigarette smoke in the room. Bathrooms have no toilet brushes or bath plugs. The pool balcony was closed, even though the pool itself was open. Overall, the hotel is good - but it’s a 4 star experience rather than 5.

Dit was echt het meest luxe hotel waar ik ben verbleven. Het heeft wel de communist show off vibe maar het is goed onderhouden. De bedden liggen heerlijk, het zwembad heeft een mooi uitzicht en is lekker warm. De ligging is ideaal, twee van mijn tours starten direct ernaast. Een echte aanrader zeker ook voor de prijs kwaliteit verhouding

Pleasant 4 nights trip to Romainia. A little disappointed that the pool/spa/sauna were closed for refurbishment! However, the hotel was close to the Old Town, shops, restaurants and metro/buses for convenience travel around the city and further a field.

Trevlig vistelse. Men i min värld är detta dock inte tillräckligt hög standard för att uppnå fem stjärnor 2025. Men väl godkänt för en weekend! Spa-, och poolområdet var stängt till följd av renovering. Någonting som vi inte blev uppmärksammade på när vi bokade, så är besviken över det. Helt okej frukost. Något tråkigt bemötande i receptionen drar även ner helhetsbetyget. Rummen var rymliga vilket är bra och läget var utmärkt. Helt okej!

Centrale ligging , maar zeker geen 5 sterren waard . Spa/binnenzwembad (al?) gesloten .Voor kortere ( zeker oudere) mensen is kamer onhandig . Bed te hoog , kluis te hoog , en klimmen om te kunnen kunnen douchen in bad. Ontbijt redelijk en mogelijk tot 11 uur . Helaas wordt eea niet aangevuld .

I’ve stayed at this hotel several times in the past, but this visit was an absolute disappointment. It’s clear that the property has aged significantly and that maintenance is no longer a priority. From the moment I arrived, the issues started. The shower was broken, the magnifying makeup mirror light didn’t work because the bulb was burnt out, and the bathroom trash bin was damaged and dirty. The pedal you step on to lift the lid was broken, leaving only a sharp metal piece exposed — something you could easily injure yourself on. Housekeeping was another major problem. From day one, the shower gel dispenser had barely a finger of product left, and for two days no one refilled it. When I finally asked the housekeeper about it, she told me she had no product because the bottles had recently been changed, and that I should go to the front desk myself to request a refill. This is completely unacceptable for a supposed 5-star hotel. Throughout my entire 7-night stay, the room was never vacuumed even once. I had dropped some cookie crumbs the first day, and I watched them remain on the floor for a full week — being stepped on every day. Another inconvenience: the front desk never had change when I needed to break larger bills. Again, something that should not be an issue in a hotel claiming 5-star standards.And when it was time to leave, there was no bellboy available to help with luggage — not to bring the bags from the room, not even to assist with loading them into a taxi

First our towels had rust spots on them. restaurant on main floor was closed and the Bar & Restaurant on 21st floor had very expensive prices. We had to go out in the rain to find another restaurant to have dinner. Swimming pool closed at 9.00pm and at 8.30 we were told not to enter bc closing time is soon. Very low on the grade...I would suggest to be coted as 3.

Helpful front desk staff, room cleaning missed a few items, failed to refill Kleenex box, tea bags and shampoo and bath gel, soap, etc. shower door leaked badly, whole floor in front of bathtub got all wet! Handheld shower diverter didn’t work. Paid breakfast was good.

L’Hotel è sicuramente in una posizione ottimale per visitare il centro di Bucharest. Gentilezza ed educazione alla reception. Un bel bar e credo (ma noi non ci siamo stati) un servizio lounge bar con vista sulla città. Arredamento delle camere un po’ old fashion .possibilita di fare il caffè in camera, acqua e frutta di benvenuto. La Pulizia può essere migliorata, abbiamo soggiornato due notti ma non hanno rifatto la stanza. Le signore addette alla pulizia hanno detto che sarebbero ripassate visto che volevano farlo in un momento in cui noi stavamo facendo una pausa, ma non si sono più viste. Peccato!

Good location and was generally ok. Shower leaked over the bathroom floor so was like a swamp in there. The hotel also had an outside disco on that played loud music, not ideal if you have to wake up early the next day for a trip...

We liked everything about the hotel. The room was spacious with a balcony overlooking Bucharest which was lovely. The only improvement I would suggest is to change towels each day.

The room was clean with a comfortable bed. I had a balcony along with a nice view. The hotel lobby was nice and staff were helpful. What i didnt like was the tub in the bathroom as it was deep and high which made it difficult to shower. I slipped when climbing out. Also the checkout process was terrible and I had to pull out my credit card again to complete payment, sign a document and then was able to leave. Why isnt this done up front when you are obviously in a rush at checkout if you are headed to the airport. At 4am, i was not in the mood to go thru all of this and I just wanted to drop the key off and leave. Please improve the checkout process.

This is not a 5* hotel. I had very bad experience with the hotel tech. The WiFi in my room was not working. It took me 4-5 times throughout the day to complain about this. The staff said eventually it’s my fault. Only then to find out that the router installed in my room was broken and needed to be replaced. I was not offered any apologies or compensation for my misery. Furthermore, the rooms are totally outdated. They are clean and well-maintained. But very old and not good for modern business travelers. In the bathroom is only a bathtub to shower. And the shower head did not work. The trash bin in the bathroom has an open wire sticking out and you can hurt your toes. The gym and sauna were closed for renovation and I was not informed of that beforehand - no information of that sort anywhere: to the contrary - the websites states how nice these facilities are. In the public areas there is a really oppressive smell of room deodorants - like the plan is to cover some bad smells. The whole building and access to rooms is not secured. In the elevator I was hackled by two prostitutes. The staff was nice - but eventually not helpful. My decision: never again this hotel.

I had dropped some cookie crumbs the first day, and I watched them remain on the floor for a full week — being stepped on every day. Another inconvenience: the front desk never had change when I needed to break larger bills. Again, something that should not be an issue in a hotel claiming 5-star standards.And when it was time to leave, there was no bellboy available to help with luggage — not to bring the bags from the room, not even to assist with loading them into a taxi

The room was clean with a comfortable bed. I had a balcony along with a nice view. The hotel lobby was nice and staff were helpful. What i didnt like was the tub in the bathroom as it was deep and high which made it difficult to shower. I slipped when climbing out. Also the checkout process was terrible and I had to pull out my credit card again to complete payment, sign a document and then was able to leave. Why isnt this done up front when you are obviously in a rush at checkout if you are headed to the airport. At 4am, i was not in the mood to go thru all of this and I just wanted to drop the key off and leave. Please improve the checkout process.

No value for money I paid over $200 a night and did not see the value. Check-in & staff: First impression was poor. The front desk staff were dismissive and unhelpful, refusing to answer simple questions like whether parking was available or how much it cost. Instead, we were told to “ask outside.” When we asked where to pay, the answer was “with me,” but still no clarity about parking. We arrived at 2:45 pm and were told we could not check in until 3:00 pm. The agent refused to even take our passports or process the information, even though the room was clearly ready. Everything was about passing responsibility to someone else. Room condition: Very old, poorly maintained, and not worth the price. The AC didn’t work—we had to call maintenance immediately. The phone never worked, and no one followed up after we reported it. The TV menu and QR codes for room service and property information didn’t work, leaving us with no access to basic services. Only 2 of the 4 elevators were working. The building feels like it’s falling apart. Amenities: Towels were worn out, some with holes. Bathroom amenities were minimal: just one small bottle of shower gel for two people, no shower cap, no cotton swabs. For a property marketed as 5-star, this is unacceptable. We had a room on the 17th floor with a spectacular view from a large balcony. The hotel is within walking distance to Old Town with its many restaurants and bakeries. The staff is very friendly. Room clean. Only improvement for me would be breakfast. The eggs and such were cold.

Ett rätt trist hotell för att vara 5-stjärnigt. Frukosten var inte bra och när det gick upp för mig att vi betalat 130 Lei (26,5 EUR) påtalade jag att jag fått uppgift om att det skulle kosta 15 EUR (vilket hade varit dyrt det också) möttes jag bara av en axelryckning. Slitna rum och SPA:et som visserligen ingick i vårt rum (annars 30 EUR) var rätt tråkigt. Överlag tyckte jag de hade rätt konstig prissättning i baren, restaurangen och roomservicen, dvs mycket hög för att vara i Bukarest. Och det är på grund av detta som vår upplevelse av hotellet dras ner rätt ordentligt.

Hotellet ligger sentralt med gå avstand til det meste. Hyggelig personal som hilser og smiler. Fin utsikt fra rommet med balkongen og spaavdeling. Hotellet er noe gammel og det lukter ille på toaletter og bad. Frokostsalen ligger i 21. etasje som har fin utsikt men dessverre dårlig plassering av mat, lite spennende utvalg, bråkete og kaos rundt buffé og eggstasjon. Ikke verdt 5 stjerne.

Enjoyed a 5 day break in Bucharest in the Grand Hotel. Very good location close to the Old Town. The 100 airport bus stops across from the hotel. The room is adequate, very comfortable twin beds, although the high bath/ shower may be difficult to access if you have mobility issues. large tv in the room. No table or chairs on the balcony. Very good indoor pool and gym. A poor point is the breakfast.... Minute plates, grilled breakfast was mostly cold each morning. Staff were very helpful and resolved a noise issue to my satisfaction. All in all, a very good hotel, but I wouldn't say 5*.
