We stayed at VOCO for a quick weekend family trip as a family of four. Our room was clean, beds comfortable, and view was amazing. We spent time in the hotel pool which was a hit for our littles as it was heated ( a little too much for my liking) but the kids enjoyed it. It was close enough to a lot of things which was a big plus.

It was very nice. We loved our view from our room. The pool was nice and relaxing. Everything was good other then the parking. They told us that we would pay $61 per night (we were only there 1 night and we left 5 hours before it expired) and that we were able to come in and out of the parking. When it was time to leave the ticket was declined after we had already paid for it. We did call them and they let us out but it did take like 5 to 8 minutes for them to answer us. Anyways we didn’t let that minor issue ruin our stay at the hotel because we really enjoyed it!

I love the beautiful view over the river and city!! Everything was clean, bed was very comfortable, and the N'espresso coffee in the room is delicious--not the usual bland hotel coffee. I also appreciated the water carafes and filtered water station where I could also get seltzer and hot water for tea. This is my second time staying here, and not my last!

I enjoyed the property. It was very clean and it was all decorated nicely! We had an issue with the tv skipping which was annoying. The drinks were good but expect to pay top dollar for them. It was the perfect location. Be aware that it is two elevators so it does take a while to get out of the building. I loved the heated pool.

The only thing I liked about this property was the location and view from my room. Also, Heidi at the front desk was amazing! The renovations look half way done. The hallways are raggedy and smell bad. Only certain parts of the room was renovated. Shower was old and rusty. All of the towels were stained. Sheets were stained. Room smelled of mildew. The walk to your room takes forever. You have to take 2 elevators to get to your room. I would not stay here again.

This review is specific for the front desk staff* Room was filthy! The bathroom sink was dirty has mold all around. The shower wasn’t draining. The bath tub shower had very low pressure. The air conditioner unit was absolutely disgusting and full of dust grossly visible inside around the vent looks like it has not been cleaned in years. I asked twice to be moved to another room the front desk lady Lucila was very rude didn’t greet me and was giggling and talking to other employees. When I explained to her the issue she refused to change my room. They eventually sent someone to my room to fix the issue with sink and shower head. The sink issue still continued after he left. The following day I woke up coughing from the dust. There was also a large spill from a drink in my hallway I had stopped at the desk before I left for dinner and notified Lucila and also showed her pictures. When I came back 4 hours later the spill was still there. Had to notify the front desk again of course she wasn’t there it was another employee he immediately called someone to clean it. Front desk staff here does not care at all about customer service, customer concerns or cleanliness of the rooms. Staff at the bar/dining area were all great and helpful.

Didn’t love the multiple elevators to get to guest rooms. Booked at Voco and felt like I was just staying at HolidayInn. Walked into room to find a clump of hair on bathroom floor. Had to move rooms. Kids enjoyed the pool.

The staff here are kind and friendly. However, the severe water damage and large crack in the ceiling is a safety hazard and toxic. Damage to that extent indicates structural damage. There is no way that this is not already known by management, they are turning a blind eye and will continue to put guests in this unsafe room. Cleanliness was rated row because a few of our towels had a strong unclean stench to them.

There is a parking garage right across the street, it’s $62 a day. It may be cheaper to take the Metra downtown and walk to the hotel. The hotel is on the Chicago River and the area is beautiful. The rooms are nice, they have fridges but, no microwave. There are plenty of places to eat, all within a mile of the hotel. Midway airport is a 20 minute drive.

We stayed in the Grand Room and we really, really liked the wall-to-wall windows. It made for an absolutely beautiful view of the river and city! The room was also very spacious, especially for Chicago. It was plenty big enough for a king-sized bed, a couch, desk, and couple of chairs. I loved that it had an entryway with a bench. It was a great place to put luggage, shoes, and souvenirs; keeping the mess out of sight from the main part of the room. In addition to being large, the room was also very comfortable. The mattress and pillows were the ideal softness. And there were two separate AC units with two separate thermostats, which made it easy to keep the room at the ideal temperature. Checking in and checking out was also a breeze. We actually checked in about 45 minutes early with zero issues. The lady at the front desk didn't even mention that we were early, just checked us in like normal. And upon checkout, we asked if they could hang onto our luggage as our train wasn't scheduled to depart for another five hours. They happily obliged and retrieving our luggage was seamless once we were ready to go. Now the things that could've been better. The setup was a bit unusual. You have to take the elevator to the fifteenth floor, then walk across the hotel lobby to a different set of elevators to then go to your floor. Also, the ice machine on our floor was broken, we had to go to a whole different floor to get ice. We also didn't love the coffee pods provided.

Overall it was pretty decent. Room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Unfortunately on the first night, our television and safe did not work. They credited our room $50 for the inconvenience which we used towards the breakfast buffet, so that was nice! They ended up fixing the faulty accommodations promptly the next day. The location was perfect for the things we wanted to do too so we were pleased with it's accessibility factor as well.

Took an hour to check in, staff requested a copy of credit as travler didnt have one, sent it, then requested copy of drivers license, sent it , then requested a copy of credit card with travlers name, sent it. Everything asked for was given yet they kept asking for more. Over an hour to check in. Only 3 travlers, one adult 2 kids

Was not informed at all about anything including $200 installment charge, $61 per night for parking and then had to find that out when I was checking out. Also I asked the front desk when I was checking in, if I had to pay for parking and she literally told me "Just bring the ticket and we will take care of that" which normally means that they will pay for that, and neither did I ever had to pay for parking in hotel in my life especially when it is $500 for two night stay. Also the key card to room just stopped working in the middle of the night, and I got locked out. When I went all the down to first floor to have it fixed, they didnt care at all. No sorry no nothing, just gave me new keycard and sent me away. So rude. And also they dont seem to inform the housekeeping about late checkouts because even though I had 1pm checkout, they were banging very loud on my door at 10am like they wanted to kick me out. After everything, i asked them if I can get the invoice of parking, so I can see exactly how much I have to pay for parking, they just slide me the paper without saying a word and gave me the annoyed look and said something in French between each other. What a professional and hospitable people! Never gonna come back here, ever!

The property is decent. However, the night manager/ comptroller who is horrible. He was verbally abusive and theatened me over an issue relating to our reservation and payment. He threatened to have security remove my family from our rooms because i wanted to go back to my room for paperwork from Travelocity to prove my point. He refused to let me go and said said the room door was aleady locked and i couldn't get back in. He lied. My son was in the room with no awareness of what was traspiring downstairs. I am a 69 year old woman who has experienced quite a bit in my life, but this kind of treatment of guests is unexceptable on any level. Neither I, my family nor anyone I know will never stay there. The rest of the staff was lovely and very helpful.

The woman at the front desk was awful. She was trying to double charge us as she seemed to have no knowledge how the pre-booking process worked. Since she double charged us, my credit card flagged it as fraud and we weren’t able to check in for about an hour, which caused us to miss our dinner reservation for a birthday celebration. Almost every time we talked to a employee they were unfriendly. I was highly disappointed.

Our stay was perfect. From the moment we walked in and were greeted by the staff, to parking our car conveniently across the street to unwinding in our room with super comfortable beds. No complaints on the hotel. The location was perfect- a quick walk to the train, easy access in/out of parking lot or walkable to any location- riverwalk across the street. Location was quiet safe and convenient! Thanks Voco for a memorable 4 day weekend!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and updated. Very enjoyable stay overall. The only complaints would be the lobby area had no air circulating so it was hot and the prices on the items in the market were outrageous! 3 cold cut sandwiches, 4 cans of pop, and 4 small bags of chips was $75! Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

We stayed here recently and were impressed by several standout features. The location is unbeatable, right by the Riverwalk, which made exploring the city incredibly easy and scenic. We were fortunate to get a room on the top floor with a gorgeous panoramic view of the skyline! The bath amenities were nice, plant based and domestically made. As many others have mentioned, the water machine in the lobby was surprisingly fancy, offering multiple temperature settings, including chilled sparkling water. The lobby itself felt upscale and well-designed, making for a great first impression. During check-in, the staff member was exceptionally warm and welcoming, even offering us locally made chocolates. However, there were a few service hiccups that detracted from the overall experience. Housekeeping accidentally let a fly into our room, and when we asked the front desk for a flyswatter or assistance, nothing was done. Also, when I bought a drink at the bar around 11:15 PM, I wasn’t informed of closing time, only to be rushed out shortly after by security.. awkward and avoidable with better communication. We also experienced some practical inconveniences: it took 2–3 minutes of running the tap to get any hot water, which felt wasteful and frustrating. Finally, checkout was a bit underwhelming. The staff seemed disinterested, and when I asked to retrieve our two small carry-on luggage, the bellman appeared annoyed and told me to go into the back room to get it myself.

Was very disappointed with the food options within the hotel. We tried both breakfast and dinner and paid over $100 for both meals and I’ve had better quality at a hole in the wall restaurant. The service at the restaurant was also sub-par. We are not the kind of family that can afford many vacations so I was severely disappointed to have wasted so much money at their “water view” restaurant. The room itself was nice, although the bathroom had a broken shower head and the shower liner and toilet had hair on them. We booked four guests but the room only had three towels. The hotel was quick to fix all issues within 20 minutes. There was also a stain on one of the mattress protectors which just wasn’t comforting. I won’t be staying here again.

Very nice restaurants like Hari Kari and Shaws. The Mart show for retail shopping is always great. The hotel cleanliness and comfort is always A+. I love their breakfast and bar area, it has a nice open space with a great view.
