I regularly stay in hostels and have never had such a bad experience with shared bathroom facilities. The bathroom on my floor smelled absolutely terrible 24/7 — not simply dirty, but strongly of sewage and human waste. The shower was also extremely unpleasant: you have to press a button every few seconds to keep the water running, the shower area constantly smelled bad, and in the mornings the water was cold. The room itself was okay, but unfortunately the bathroom situation completely ruined my stay. It was so uncomfortable that I couldn’t even stay until the end of my reservation and ended up leaving early and paying for a hotel instead. I understand that shared bathrooms are part of staying in a hostel, and I am completely used to that, but these conditions were simply unacceptable. Definitely the worst bathroom experience I have ever had in a hostel.

I normally enjoy staying here but on this occasion after booking late checkout which is 1PM, the cleaner pulled back my curtain at 10:45 asking if I am sleeping. I informed her I have late checkout and went back to sleep because I was travelling so wanted to rest beforehand hence booking late checkout. Then an hour later at 11:45 another cleaner entered and asked why I was sleeping, I then told her I have late checkout at 1PM. After being disturbed twice I then got up because I couldn’t get back to sleep and was annoyed and then a guy from reception came to my room and said “you do know checkout is at 11am why are you still here” despite me paying for late checkout which is 1PM. Anyway I was disturbed 3 times and my privacy violated yet when I requested a refund for the late checkout fee I paid they said no. Very unprofessional and considering the amount I book and have never complained or left a bad review I expected better. It’s also not the first time this has happened after booking a late checkout, I just never normally complain but after how I was treated I’m complaining.

Very nice place and cleaned almost daily which is truly appreciated. Only downside is the lack of AC in shared rooms as I was in Paris during the heatwave and sleeping was unbearable. Otherwise nice, clean and very well situated!
