Location - 10/10 - close to many sights. The hotel itself is a tourist destination! Room - 10/10 - gorgeous, spacious, elegant Service - 10/10 - excellent, above and beyond, front desk spoke good English Breakfast - 11/10 - incredible! Bed - 2/10 - my king size bed had two very deep, body sized indents that I unfortunately did not notice the first night of my stay because I was so tired. I woke up to tremendous back pain that lasted several days. If you require a firm mattress for comfort I recommend requesting a room with a newer mattress if it’s possible. Luckily the spa upstairs offers a great massage.

Beautiful hotel. Perfect location. Would recommend the Gold level. Very good Gold lounge. Good canapés, afternoon tea and breakfast. Excellent service. Evanta was lovely and Max really stood out helping us with our questions and planning. He spoke perfect English and was really helpful.

This hotel is a treasure. It is so well maintained . It has history and is preserved to showcase it. Staff is wonderful and professional. The Cathay room is outstanding and the views are amazing. The Jazz bar is so wonderful ! I will always return when I pass through Shanghai.

The location is perfect, right in front of the band. Even though it's right on a very busy street, once you step inside it's extremely quiet. The hospitality of the staff is truly outstanding, with a very sophisticated and comfortable atmosphere. The service is very good, including the attitude of the employees, the rooms are spacious and the bed is quite comfortable, check-in was fast. Some things that we didn't like I don't think we will return to the hotel; Between the bathroom tiles it had a black line of dirt, we were a family of 6, the elevator barely fit and the prices were exaggeratedly high for food, wonton soup that is commonly available for 20 yuan there, it was sold for 188, 5 yuan soda had it for 55 yuan, we know that because it is a 5-star hotel the prices are higher but to such an extent it is not justifiable. something that only happens in this country, wearing a cap to use recreation pool, hahaha (sorry but it's funny).

Best luxury hotel overall in Shanghai! Great location, next to Nanjing pedestrian street and the bund. Excellent restaurant; surprised it’s not a Michelin star restaurant. Lots of nostalgic themes but not a run down place. Very well decorated and clean room. Love to come back!

Staff provide good service, hotel room is big and clean. Must try hi-tea at the rooftop restaurant of the hotel as it provides superb view of the river and bund.

We stayed at the Fairmont Peace Hotel in a 'Fairmont Gold, 1 King Bed, Non-smoking, Executive Level' with access to the club lounge and it exceeded all expectations! It was such a beautiful hotel to stay in. A great location - everything in walking distance, if you want that - but also transport at your fingertips if you prefer that. As well as using the club lounge we dined at the Dragon Phoenix restaurant, which we also highly recommend. Totally recommend this hotel.

Excellent hotel with old world service. Excellent breakfast. The food at the "French" restaurant was awful. Food was not as advertised. The charcoal grilled veal rack had never been near any charcoal and was tough. Same for the rack of lamb. They should either hire a new chef or close the restaurant

Centrally located in the Bund, very convenient to go to any directions. The service is excellent staff pays attention to details. However there’s not enough dining places in the hotel and it’s pricey too. Fortunately there are plenty of restaurants around the areas.
