Damon’s Hotel

Nice hotel, but no lift. Also nowhere to hang towels, bathrobes or dressing gowns in the shower room. A peg on the back of the door would be helpful. Unfortunately the room key was made void after our first day denying entry to our room. We had to contact the desk thereafter every time we left the room to get back in, which meant unnecessary trips up and down the stairs.

The suite with hot tub was amazing and was so clean and bright,modern and just ticked all boxes , was great at check in and out and very thorough about how to use the hot tub too . Friendly and helpful would definitely stay again in that room

All good apart from restaurant bar ran out of gas on beer pumps,hotel had no ice for drinks and ran out of vodka on first nite and still no vodka on second nite.

A very clean, well located, comfortable and practical place to stay. In easy reach of Lincoln and Newark. Pleasant and helpful staff. Next to its own restaurant if you sont want to travel too far.

We were looking forward to staying here as the reviews looked good, on arrival everything was fine however we noticed an awful smell between the beds, i mentioned it at reception and the said they would look into it, Day 2 the smell was still there and they offered to move us but only had a double bed as this was a trip with my son we were not keen on that, we were told it would be clean, day 3 the smell was worse as it was a hot day, it was so bad I couldn’t stay there and slept elsewhere, I found out someone was sick in the room yet they still decided to book it out to us, very disappointed tbh! After complaining I was offered 25% off a future stay, I explained that was no good as I don’t intend to stay again and that is it, hotel now gone quiet, tough!

The room was shabby and the bed was really hard and lumpy. Bedding smelt dirty and was scratchy. Horrible stay. I used to stay often and it’s gone really downhill. I won’t be back.

This is a good budget choice hotel but the sound insulation between rooms leave a lot to be desired. I could hear people talking, snoring etc. almost as if in the same room as me! The room appeared clean but on closer inspection I found hairs on the pillows which were certainly not mine as I'm bald! I will not return

Room clean and comfortable. Armchair looked pretty but was not comfortable to sit on. Staff friendly, professional and helpful.

Room was clean at first glance; Didn't realise the bed was on rollers and when tried to lay on it, it moved between the two bedside desks. The shower evac fan was clogged with dust clumps and the shower holder was broken and couldn't hold the weight of the shower head. They cleaned the evac fan after raising the issues and "fixed" the shower holder by..... shoving ALOT of paperclips in the shower holder so it couldn't move vertically.

Staff were friendly, the room was clean and the bed enormous! ( super king size?) The negatives were that, it waz a warm night so we had the window open and with tge hotel being on a busy dual carriageway there was a lot of traffic noise. The shower wasn't very powerful. The supply of tea and coffee in the room was poor ( one PG tips teabag) - we could have picked up more from reception presumably, but would have expected 2 teabags minimum! Power sockets on the desk weren't fit for purpose- too close to the desk to plug anything in. Damons restaurant next door was expensive and the food indifferent. We had breakfast elsewhere.

The room was comfortable & clean. The room Looked as though it had been recently renovated, the bathroom was nice but the toilet seat was not a great fit with water spraying your leg on flushing and a little mould around the shower tray made it a 4 star…but that’s the only issue with the room. The bed was so comfortable. Although the road noise seemed loud during the day the traffic calmed at night and didn’t disturb my sleep. I would definitely stay again. The bonus is that there is a fantastic restaurant on site should you choice to use it!!

WiFi was terrible and couldn’t carry out any work within the room.

The room was lovely exactly what we wanted. The only thing I would say is that the walls are very thin and you can hear people talking and slamming doors throughout the evening. The rest of the stay was exactly as you would expect spacious, clean and just a nice getaway. The staff were friendly at checkin and checkout.

It would have been better if the room had air-conditioning, I did have a fan but I was only able to plug it in round the corner were the kettle was so didn't get any air hardly. The bedside tablets should have been equipped with plugs or usb connections for phones, we had none. The rooms need to be updated so these things get sorted

Very noisy room

Good location for our needs, just off the main road. Great check in. Large room but the washbasin was in the bedroom rather than the ensuite which is very inconvenient. The bathroom was large so I don't know why it was done this way. We were given a room above a hot tub room with patio where they had loud music blaring out and we were unable to sleep in the afternoon after a long drive and it was back on at 8.00am in the morning. It was far too loud. We reported to the reception on our way out that evening who offered to move us but as we had arrangements we did not have time to move. I'm sure that this can not be the first time they have had a complaint about the music, it is a ridiculous situation. The parking was good.

We drove past it at first as it’s hard to tell it’s a hotel from the outside. Inside the place is immaculate & feels new & fresh. On entering our room we were impressed by the decor & large roll top bath in the room. It’s only when you start using the facilities u realise wow does not equate with user friendly. The tea/coffee facilities, with a very loud kettle, are directly under the mirror so it’s not hygenic or safe doing your hair & makeup over it. There’s a long shelf on far wall with 2 stools crying out to be the dressing table but it’s neither use nor ornament. There’s nowhere to put a drink down when you’re in the bath. The shower is terrible, trickle of water and no pressure. I had to move around to try & get wet and I’m not a little lady. No toilet roll holder so one is reaching around them trying to locate it amongst the folded towels, plastic cups & toiletries. I feel as with a lot of hotel rooms the person who designed the rooms is a man & has not stayed in them. I feel bad picking out the faults as the room was spotless, the bed was very comfy and everything I’d need (fan, slippers, robe etc) was provided including a complimentary bottle of fizz. If I was in the area I would stay here again as, for what you get v what you pay, Damon’s is amazing

The only thing that I noticed was the road/traffic noise from the A46. I would like to suggest they invest in some double-glazing as a way to mitigate this.

Booked the hot tub suite and when arrived was told they didn’t have my booking or the room that we booked, when he looked at computer he found my booking and said ‘whoops, sorry’ he booked us a standard room and yeah refunded the difference but this spoiled our birthday trip so will not stay here again.

Staff extremely friendly and helped us switching to a ground floor room without being asked.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Room very clean. Had a dripping tap notified the desk and they said will sort it. Only recommendation to put a sign at the bottom of the stairs to tell you the room numbers would help people funding their rooms without going back to reception would stay there again

Unfortunately the people in the next room decided to have a very noisy conversations with numerous phone calls - Dom Joly style - for about three hours until gone midnight. We could hear every word… Mentioned it to the receptionist and she really could not have been more understanding and helpful and would have changed rooms for us if requested - will bear that in mind next time, but when you’re already in bed, not something you would think of doing especially when you think the folks next door might go quiet soon!!!

Upon arrival the staff were very friendly. Greeted and explained everything including how if I take my card over to the restaurant I will get a discount on food, I have been many times before but never been told this. The card didn't work at first and the lady at reception worked quickly and efficiently to solve the issue and gave me a working card. The room was lovely the only gripe I would have is the shower was leaking where it connected so wasn't as nice as it could be but that would have to be the only gripe with the room at all. I told the receptionist upon leaving and she apologised and thanked me for letting me know. It was a nice cosy room for a couples get away. Perfect and just what we wanted it to be.

Good hotel on edge of Lincoln. Good facilities and great restaurant next door. Only issue is not being advised about car parking registration, would definitely stay again when in the area.

Great location own restaurant petrol station good position for trips out

It's a place to stop in a retail park. Once you get past that staff are helpful and friendly. Rooms are clean and have everything. So would give it four and half stars.

Place is a bit outdated. There is nothing around except a petrol station. Limited breakfast menu.

Hotel was lovely although bed a bit soft. Also window was a bit worse for wear. But restaurant was a bit pricey as two normal glasses of coke was £9. Food was good

What a find!!!! Never come across Damon before but very impressed with hotel and room (comparable with Premier Inn). Cost of double room very competitive with Travelodge and Premier Inn. The Damon restaurant on site served up a good range of American inspired dining at reasonable prices (with hotel stay discounts). All staff well trained and very attentive.

The restaurant is good for people who love eating meat But there seem no options for those of us who avoid meat and dairy. Absence of fresh veg and salad. We had fish and chips. Fish Ok but chips AWFUL

Location was perfect for my business trip, but Lincoln is very beautiful. Food in the restaurant is fantastic. Highly recommend.

Stay of two halves, the hotel was excellent, the restaurant dreadful.
