GREAT LOCATION!!!! Can walk to xiantiande, the bund, and nanjing pedestrian street very easily. Very large nice rooms and bathrooms. Excellent gym and friendly staff. Definitely would stay again

Property is not well maintained and dirty. Very dated, different from pictures on hotels.com. Breakfast is bland. Only good thing is the location. For this price, can go somewhere else much better.

這次上海行陪家人來出差，在此住了一週。這個地點辦事、出遊、購物，和用餐都非常方便。我每天都在酒店內吃早餐。中午都會去健身房。每天也會和客房清潔及前台客服人員互動。酒店整體體驗，配合我與家人的需求，感覺都非常好，尤其是客房打掃人員，李荣女士，非常親切，熱心配合我的作息，我特別在意的浴室和廚房每次來都用心整理，讓我有回家的感覺。下次出差還會再來此酒店。

Very dated hotel that charges 4-star prices based on location and room size more than condition or upkeep. There are newer cheaper options in Shanghai that provide a better experience in my opinion. The hotel really has no areas for sitting and working with a laptop, and the patio seen in photos is part of a 2nd party restaurant that isn't part of the hotel and only accessible by a separate elevator and requires purchase to access. I had to move to a new room upon check-in due to broken door locks and bathroom fixtures falling out of the wall. My second room had a broken TV and needed a repairman to replace the cables in the back to receive a signal. I wasted several hours of my first day just settling into an acceptable room. In general, I wouldn't have been as disappointed if the price I paid was in-line with other hotels that have not been maintained and fallen to a similar level. The staff, however, were all friendly and extremely accommodating.

chambre pas tres propre, hotel qui m'a paru degrade, par rapport a l'ascott de wuxi ou de Hangzhou, on n'est pas du tout au meme niveau. en plus il y avait des travaux qui ont commencé le matin. bref,je ne recommande pas du tout cet hotel qui n'est pas au niveau de cette excellente chaine.

The apartment is excellently located and has easy access to everything you need shopping-wise. However, the property, other than its facade, is really dated. The hallway has a smell and the furniture is really worn. The facilities are in working condition but nothing close to the value of what you have paid for. I chose it because it’s a serviced apartment and the cleaning staff go out of their way to keep it clean, but all the amenities are just so in need an upgrade that there’s not much additional cleaning can do.

We are traveling a lot all over the world staying in many different kinds of hotels and apartments. This was our 4th hotel on this trip (Fuzhou Juchunyuan Yushan Hotel, -Meiyuan Hotel, Fuzhou - Wuyishan Tianxin Mingyue Tea Mountain Villa, Wuyishan). All other hotels were less than half the price of Ascott so we had expectations but still knowing that prices in Shanghai is higher than other cities. Arriving in the lobby being friendly greeted by the staff was a nice experience. The immediate impression of the room with a nice view over the city. From there… -the room was very humid with a smell of old basement. -The aircondition was very noisy and didn’t work as an aircondition. -Asking at the reception if they could set up a dehumidifier but they only opened our windows which helped a little regarding the smelll but didn’t help regarding the humidity… the outside air was very humid. -The outside was too noisy to have the windows open and the noise from the aircondition also too much so sleeping is not easy. -We didn’t much time in the room because of exploring the city but on day three I started to feel an asthmatic reaction kicking in when staying longer in the room. -Humidity made the bed linen damp when going to bed. -The room needed a makeover in general. Paint etc was worn out. -Foot trash was left outside our neighbor door for two days without being removed. All in all it has been a very disappointing and unsatisfying stay especially when paying so much per night.

We've got around 2:30pm and our 2nrooms were not ready aound 7pm. There were around 10 others who also waiting for their room. One of tge 2 rooms wasn't the one we booked. We booked a 2 twin beds and they gave one king bed room to us had to wait another hour and the room service came and split the king out to 2 twins. So the original king bed was a 2 twin beds put together. The room were dirty and small. Carpet was very old. All the bathrooms fixtures were old and outdated. Room service is terrible. Not vacuum during our entire stay eventhough we only request to have room service once every two day. We were sold by the front picture of the hotel when we booked and it is a total disappointed. The hotel front and the location are good. The rest are a one star hotel.

We love to stay here and want to make it our designated stay next time in Shanghai. Breakfast is just okay, services aren’t great as the front desk lady treats us suspiciously, after swapped our key and had us signed, a few minutes later she followed us to the table, interrupted our breakfast to ask us show who we are again. Other than that, overall experience is very nice. Clean, spacious, excellent etc.

The room i booked on Expedia was a Premier Room, 1 Bedroom. The room displayed on the website is with a spacious layout and modern decor. However, upon check-in, I was allocated a room that significantly deviated from the display in terms of quality and layout. Upon my protest, the hotel reluctantly switched me to a room with the desired layout, claiming that such rooms are usually reserved for long-term guests and thus were not earlier offered to me (but that's what shown on the Expedia website despite the lease term???). Also, even the second room has disappointing furnishings compared to the display on Expedia. Upon further inquiry, the hotel staff said the showcase on Expedia are those recently renovated rooms (Still WIP), there are only a limited number of innovated rooms available and THEY CANNOT OFFER TO ME. I booked this accommodation based on the representations provided on Expedia, expecting a room of a certain standard, only to be met with an experience that fell significantly short of my expectations. My booking was severely misled by the Expedia display and I demand a prompt response to this matter. Thanks.

Very dated hotel that charges 4-star prices based on location and room size more than condition or upkeep. There are newer cheaper options in Shanghai that provide a better experience in my opinion. The hotel really has no areas for sitting and working with a laptop, and the patio seen in photos is part of a 2nd party restaurant that isn't part of the hotel and only accessible by a separate elevator and requires purchase to access. I had to move to a new room upon check-in due to broken door locks and bathroom fixtures falling out of the wall. My second room had a broken TV and needed a repairman to replace the cables in the back to receive a signal. I wasted several hours of my first day just settling into an acceptable room. In general, I wouldn't have been as disappointed if the price I paid was in-line with other hotels that have not been maintained and fallen to a similar level. The staff, however, were all friendly and extremely accommodating.

We stayed at Ascott Huai Hai Road for 5 nights and it was 1 of the best so far, for the amount that we paid for. Service has been top notch from the moment we stepped in. We had to change rooms once as the room below us had a burst pipe, we appreciate that they personally informed us of the issue, and managed to find us a similar room 2 floors down almost immediately. We had left behind my daughter's camera upon checkout and only realised it late that night. When I messaged the hotel via this app, I got an immediate reply from Ethan Chen. I still preferred to talk over the phone and managed to get through, afterwhich he offered to send the lost and found item via package delivery to our new hotel within a day. I offered to pay for the delivery service, but they waived it and said it was their job. Really touched by their actions and it is not something that we take for granted. We will reocmmend this hotel to friends and family who visit Shanghai in future!!

We've got around 2:30pm and our 2nrooms were not ready aound 7pm. There were around 10 others who also waiting for their room. One of tge 2 rooms wasn't the one we booked. We booked a 2 twin beds and they gave one king bed room to us had to wait another hour and the room service came and split the king out to 2 twins. So the original king bed was a 2 twin beds put together. The room were dirty and small. Carpet was very old. All the bathrooms fixtures were old and outdated. Room service is terrible. Not vacuum during our entire stay eventhough we only request to have room service once every two day. We were sold by the front picture of the hotel when we booked and it is a total disappointed. The hotel front and the location are good. The rest are a one star hotel.

The stay is fine. The staff is not as helpful as expected, e.g. seldom able to answer questions effectively and correctly. There is one exception though, whose name is Ethan Chen. Ethan is very professional and friendly. Once hearing my complaint about iPhone charging in my room, he immediately act to quickly resolve the issue. Definitely a special thank to him.

We had parcel delivered and the staff who was a handy man Mr Gaven Tan was very helpful to assist with buying strings and bubble wrap sheet for us to repack. The reception staff were helpful to book didi card for us and we were able to give him cash and he paid for the ride.

We love to stay here and want to make it our designated stay next time in Shanghai. Breakfast is just okay, services aren’t great as the front desk lady treats us suspiciously, after swapped our key and had us signed, a few minutes later she followed us to the table, interrupted our breakfast to ask us show who we are again. Other than that, overall experience is very nice. Clean, spacious, excellent etc.

The Ascott may before my default stay when I visit Shanghai for work. It’s really well equipped and excellently located. The cooker, microwave and washer make the stay so convenient and the ginormous bed is super comfortable. The check in was super smooth and an early arrival was no problem. Bad experience. The sheets and pillowcases had stains and hair. This was confirmed by a hotel front desk staff member who came to the room. I also took photos. The mattress was very old and had lost its elasticity.
