Hotel AMANO Covent Garden

This hotel is expensive, but located close to Covent Garden. My only true complaint would be for the price paid, we should have top priority access to the roof top prior to individuals that are not guest of the hotel.

Great location in Covent Garden. Nice hotel and the rooftop bar is a big plus.

This hotel is very expensive for what it lacks no refrigerator in the room just a shower and the toilet and a basin in the bathroom and a Juliett balcony which outdoors outside the window as a playground with yelling kids all the time on top of that above is the rooftop bar and they kept having Events up there into the night, very loud and noisy with young people. I will never stay at this hotel again, not worth it nearly $400 a night for such an inconvenience.

Our only negative on out total stay was that we were there for 3 nights and 2 of the evenings the rooftop bar was closed to us as it was booked for a private function.

The hotel is well positioned close to many attraction's and a two minute walk from Covent Garden. The roof top bar was unavailable on both nights we stayed due to private functions. This was disappointing as we were only informed of unavailability on one night and expected to use the facilities, as this was one of the reasons for booking the hotel. The hotel staff were apologetic about this.

Good value for money, good location, good security, friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Services tablet in the room didn't work.

Amazing location, very modern and contemporary. Check in area is fairly small so could be a wait and there is no key drop on departure. The room is small, but worth it for the location. Bed was super comfy, everything you need for a good nights sleep. The only down side was we had booked this hotel based based on the rood top bar as we wanted to use this after our evening out.. But we got an email 24hrs before saying that the roof top bar would be closed, this was most disappointing. we did get to go up before it closed and the views are amazing!

Fantastic location. Only a minutes walk from Covent Garden market. Lots of restaurants, bars and entertainment options near by. Incredible service and the room was both immaculate and incredibly comfortable. We had the best time and a lovely place to rest and stay in between all our city adventures. The bar on the roof is pricey, but has wonderful views that allow you to see many of London's attractions. Would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay.

Great location. However we booked for a birthday celebration weekend away, and I chose the AMANO as we wanted to finish our night on the rooftop bar with a cocktail. Unfortunately this was booked out for a wedding, and we weren’t told until it was too late to change the hotel without being charged, cute. Room was very comfortable, bathroom was superb. However there was a blood stain on the netted curtains, which was mildly off putting. Overall the hotel was fine, don’t be in a rush to leave if you’re leaving your suitcase with them, both times I was panicking one was lost as the tagging system doesn’t seem to work.

The staff were really friendly however, our room wasn't good. There was someone else’s hair all over the bed and in the hair dryer. There was someone else's hairbands on the floor and the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. Our friends were given their room key & the room was already occupied. The blackout curtains dont black anything out because they are fitted too far off the wall. The hotel is very overly priced for what it is. £300 for 1 night isn't what we received.

Rooms were a bit dusty and could use some cleaning

The location was superb. The rooftop bar was excellent. Hotel quality average - 3 stars. The rooms are tiny - hardly space to put a small suitcase. Most importantly, I wish they would keep the place in better shape. We had two rooms the cleaning staff was terrible. The rooms and bathrooms needed proper cleaning.

Great location, great staff however I found the hotel to be quite shabby. The room was dusty, the paint was peeling and not the standard you would expect. Upon returning from an evening event, I was disappointed to find marked bed sheets and duvet cover - dark orange and brown stains. The staff were happy enough to provide another room however having to move at 11pm and having a dirty room was extremely disappointing given the price of the hotel.

Hotel is really nice with a friendly, helpful staff. Rooftop bar is beautiful with great drinks. Our room was spotless, quiet and comfortable.

The good: wonderful city views from room and rooftop bar. Great location. Windows were sound proof despite being on busy street. Air conditioning was wonderful. The bad: upon check-in, there was pee on toilet seat, water stains on shower glass, lots of dust on side tables. Room look tidy but not sanitized. If you are a remote worker, there is no desk in the room and there are no areas to work. You will be kicked out of the rooftop bar and the bar downstairs is used for storage and to handle customer grievances.

Beautiful hotel, room was ready on arrival, reception staff very helpful. Room as expected however, as everything is grey or black very easy to spot a good layer of dust everywhere, tables, headboards, walls, kettle etc. Noticed shower waste grill was damaged and very dangerous exposing sharp edge this was reported to reception on departure. Roof top bar advertised as a plus but on visiting at 11pm on a Saturday with over 100 people there and 2 people serving not ideal, walked out, dont oversell and under delivery, fatal. Overall it was ok but for pricing you would expect more than adequate tbh

It was a beautiful hotel, perfectly located, lovely decor and very clean.

All great EXCEPT that the comfort double room we booked and assigned Room 610 was incredibly small !! It’s two grades above comfort and economy so I can’t imagine what those are like. There is not wardrobe, just an open rack, no safe, no luggage space even . I think the hotel should really re-assess if this room qualifies as comfort double room

I paid for a double room, there was no acutal bathroom, toilet in one room, shower in other and sink by the bed Very bad lay out and unhygienic

Great location..Within walking distance to most theatres. Friendly staff. Rooms could be better lit. Smart TVs in the rooms woukd be good!

The room we had contained very little storage. Just a couple of hangars above the kettle. No dressing table. Poor lighting. Poorly ventilated. Had to move kettle to plug it in which was dangerous due to there only being a tiny bedside shelf to use. After showers the bathroom floor was soaking despite us being careful. And the room was steamed up as no ventilation. Basic drinks supplied. Our cups had dried lip skin on them yuck! Bed was comfortable and the pillows are great but the matress moves so they fell down the gap by the headboard. Nowhere to store cases and bags.

Arrived at hotel and couldn’t work out where entrance was. Was told our room was ready. A cozy room! Arrived to room on 6th floor and could not believe how small the room was. Could only just walk around the bed. No wardrobe. Just a small rail over the small drawers. At 7pm the roof bar starts with thudding music and doesn’t stop until after midnight. No mention of this on checkin. At 6.45am the staff are then dragging furniture around above our heads. Would not return!

The rooms could be bigger. Efficient use of space. The AC wasn’t cold. Beds very comfortable. Great location. Quiet at night.

Quite a disappointing stay tbh for the price of the hotel. I stay in a lot of hotels with work, prob 50 nights in London last year. And I wouldn’t rush back to Amano. Bedroom with a frosted glass toilet cubicle 5cm from the bed. Only for married couples who are fine with their partner taking a dump next to their head. A shower cubicle with a blocked drain that floods the bathroom floor if you shower for more than 2 minutes. Lack of a full length mirror in the room?! The stained pillow cases. The cigarette ends out the window that people on the rooftop bar have thrown over. And the worst Margarita I’ve ever had for £18 in that bar served by a really unhappy person Room design is the biggest crime. A high end hotel without a proper bathroom is just foolish decision making from the business owners

Lovely hotel but room lighting was far too dark to be practical. Everything in the room including the floor is black and lighting is dim and moody and very pointed with small spotlights. Had to pack my bag in the bathroom. Even with the curtains open in the morning the room was so dark!

The hotel has a bar/nightclub on the top floor that plays loud music until midnight, which disturbs the rooms below. We stayed on a Tuesday and couldn't get any peace until the bar had closed. From our room on the sixth floor, we could hear people peoples feet dancing directly above our ceiling which added to the disturbance. The music could be heard from the lift on the ground floor. Rooms are clean and modern with comfortable beds (after midnight!), the layout of our room was a little odd, the TV is at 90 degrees to the bed and there is no plug for the kettle in the tea area, so it needs to be placed on the floor. The location is great, but you'd get a better nights sleep in the premier inn or Traveloge up the road, for just under half the price.

Lovely hotel, excellent location for Covent Garden and the Theatre District. Staff were lovely - every member of staff from customer facing to the housekeeping team. Hotel reception staff were excellent at dealing with forgotten keys in the room safe after check-out. Make a potentially tricky situation very easy and reassuring.

Should have been a relaxing evening, and the roof bar was ok, not great, but attentive staff, decent view, nice atmosphere. But the the stay dipped when the lights in the room couldn’t be switched off. And the Android tablet didn’t work so couldn’t even contact reception…. Had to get dressed, go downstairs and speak to a glum reception staff, who grumpily came back up to the room, tried the switches to no avail and then just told me that they would offer me a complimentary breakfast instead… Had to put the room in darkness with the door cardkey out of the override switch. Checking out the following day, I was not initially offered anything, despite the fact that the lights issue and complimentary breakfast offer was noted on the account; I mentioned the lights issue and was again offered breakfast; I didn’t want breakfast, which was clearly no extra cost to the hotel from a buffet service, so the manager had to be found; the manager offered me breakfast, I declined, and the manager offered to cover the bar bill… The issue isn’t the lights not working - the issue is the staff response. Offhand, grumpy, little effort to fix the problem, no offer of an alternative room, a nonchalant offer of a buffet breakfast that carries no cost, no apology, no empathy, no “how can we put this right”…no, “here’s a discount for your next stay, we’re really sorry, shouldn’t happen,”, just grumpiness.

Highlights included friendly and helpful staff, clean, comfortable accommodation with modern decor, views from upper floors including the roof top bar.

Our recent experience at this hotel left us deeply dissatisfied, and I feel compelled to share our unfortunate encounter. To put it bluntly, the room we were provided was a minuscule. A bed and a narrow passage were the extent of the available space, leaving us disheartened and claustrophobic from the very beginning. Adding to the disappointment was the unpalatable demeanor of the staff. A gentleman named Jeremiah, in particular, left a lasting negative impression. We were taken aback when he abruptly called us to demand a 15-pound late check-out fee, citing a policy that was never communicated during our check-in. This lack of transparency was disconcerting. Rather than offering a solution, he insisted that it was our responsibility to familiarize ourselves with Expedia's T&Cs. When challenged to provide evidence of this policy on their website, he fumbled, failing to locate the information he claimed was readily available. To add insult to injury, his response to our urgency, as we had a flight to catch, was callously dismissive "you will lose your flight." Seeking intervention from Jeremiah's manager, Svetlana, proved equally fruitless. Instead of addressing the unprofessional conduct of her staff, she chose to defend Jeremiah's aggressive behavior. Her unwillingness to acknowledge the hotel's failure to communicate essential information and her redirection of blame onto us for not meticulously reading Expedia's T&Cs was disheartening. Cannot recommend regrettably.

The hotel was in a beautiful location. The room was clean and lovely view but when it came to helpfulness of staff it was subpar. For example asked for 2 wine glasses to be delivered to my room and they said they where 2 busy to deliver them and I should come down to get them and no available wine openers for guests I had to go to bar to have them open it. When I arrived to retrieve my glasses 3 people standing around desk with no one in lobby. I asked for a turn over of my room and they said they would send someone up in 10 min while we left for the evening and no one ever came and room was still dirty. Overall the hotel was new and nice but for the price the service and staff needs to be trained better on how to be more accommodating and attention to guests.

The perfect place to stay for your trip in London. Would highly recommend. Room was extremely clean, staff were pleasant and the location is amazing. Only comment would be rooms were a little small, but didn’t impact our stay at all. 10/10.

Responsive and friendly staff. Very quiet rooms .

This hotel was located in a perfect area for exploring the city by foot or quick access to the Underground. The rooftop bar was so cute and our room had a cool design (although small.) I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is in the middle of everything. The first night we found ourselves searching around the city for nightlife. The second night we realized we were right in the center of it! The hotel is very modern/ boutique style. Loved every minute of it

Great location 2 minute walk to the heart of Covent Garden..

Lovely place, really convenient for Covent Garden, restaurants, theatres, pubs. Generally a great location. Hotel has nice sized rooms, beds possibly a little hard for some but if you’re only staying a couple of nights this place is perfect. We were too tired to sample the roof top bar (maybe next time) but the restaurant for breakfast was great. Food was tasty, service was very good and fast. Really enjoyed our stay and will return.

Comfortable and convenient location. The room was small but I knew that when I booked the room. Loved the staff, rooftop bar was fabulous and the restaurant was delicious.

Room was small, but comfortable. Shower was nice. After adding breakfast on to the booking, if you want breakfast and just fancy continental then ok. Extra charge for small cooked breaker @ £15 each. Asked for soya or oat milk as dairy intolerant in the evening for a tea but they said they couldn’t accommodate.

The location was excellent and the staff were helpful and polite. However, it was unbelievable for this price that Room service ended at 10 pm, and the rooftop bar closed at midnight. The bedroom was minute with no carpet, and no desk / table. The buffet breakfast was lukewarm / cold. All in all, not good value, in my opinion.

The hotel is in a great location in the heart of Covent Garden. The hotel is clean and staff are friendly. Our room was very small which wasn’t of too much concern. The breakfast was quite a let down after having paid over £20 per person only to be told that it was for a continental buffet only which was quite limited. Hot food was an additional charge on top of this.

We loved our stay at the Amano. The hotel is very stylish with a lot of on site facilities. It is in a perfect location to walk to local shops, bars and restaurants. The roof bar and Penelopes restaurant in the hotel were also excellent.

Room and staff were great. Highly recommend. The breakfast at the attached restaurant (Penelope’s) was not good. Eggs and sausages in the buffet were cold, not even warm.

This hotel was clean and quiet. Staff seemed a bit stressed on check-in as there was a computer issue, so may not have seen them at their best, but mostly they were friendly and helpful. Room was fairly small, but adequate. Bed nice and comfortable. Bathroom not too small and toiletries provided. We had paid extra for breakfast (£30 per head) so was a bit disappointed to find that a hot breakfast was a furhter £7 extra each. The continental breakfast was nice enough, but a fairly small selection of food. I would recommend not booking a breakfast and going to one of the many nearby cafes instead for a third of the price.
