Great property with excellent location. The rooms will require climbing steep stairs and there is no elevator, so not a good option for those with mobility constraints. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable.

Parking was difficult and going up the stairs with heavy suitcases was difficult. Other than that, the room was nice and clean and comfortable.

The hotel is very clean and historical. The plumbing makes noise throughout the hotel when used. The caution I have about this hotel is that we were on the top level, and although we are in good physical shape was not prepared for 3 long flights of circular staircase. Was too much for our stay.

Séjour d’une journée dans le Vieux-Québec. La localisation de l’auberge est parfaite. Petite chambre simple et propre. Les consignes du self check-in sont faciles à comprendre. Seul hic; l’adresse du stationnement proposée semble erronée. Toutefois, nous avons été chanceux de trouver un des rares stationnement gratuit dans les rues environnantes.

Reservation through Expedia was easy. Received our access codes by email 2 days before our stay. There is no front desk for this facility--access us via PIN pad on front and room doors. Our room was 3 flights up a spiral staircase. Great location. Easy walk to many restaurants and the boardwalk in front of the Chateau Frontenac. We liked this place. Low price, great location, quiet, and nobody bothers you. With no front desk at which to check in you won't be embarassed by attempting to speak French immediately upon arrival!

The hotel is walking distance to old quebec city and other attactions. However, no parking spot provided unless parking on the street which need to download an app to pay for the fee.

Neat old building with several large rooms to choose from. It’s within a few minutes walk to the old city center and the lower town. In about 10 minutes walking you can board city buses to go to Montmorency Falls or nearly anywhere else in the greater Quebec City area. There is no elevator at the hotel - access upper floor rooms by spiral staircase

Didn’t realize there is no staff on site when I booked it, probably my fault for not fully reading, but it worked out fine. Was able to drop off luggage ahead of check-in using a luggage closet on-site with keyless entry. The location is the main advantage at a very reasonable price relative to other nearby options. There is no elevator, narrow hallways, and the spiral staircase is difficult to manage with luggage. So might not be a good option for anyone with limited mobility. But overall a good value and I would stay there again.

We loved this property. It was a large room and clean! The refrigerator was nice and the Keurig coffee wonderful! They even provided cream and sugar. The only negative is the parking situation. They did warn there was no parking on the premises but we had to park pretty far away. Otherwise it was a great experience!

Very nice property. We were on the 3rd floor. We stayed three nights. The room was very clean and spacious with hardwood floors. There was no contact with the hotel people and no room service. We did have enough towels and didn't need anything so that was ok. Parking is very limited curbside.

The property was under renovation. Every where was under dust. Even the washroom vent was in a terrible situation. The property should not be accepting guests under these conditions, at least the renovation is completed. Thank you.

Good things: Great location in walkable area, nice looking building exterior, quick response by sms with the property manager. Bad things: Room was cleaned poorly (used tissues under the bed, hair and dust on the floor.) Poorly functioning drains with bad smell in the bathroom. The air conditioner and refrigerator are just an old junk which not functioning properly.

I am basing this review on two rooms - we travelled with my 80+ yo parents, they were in one room on the second floor, my husband and I had a room on the 3rd floor. The second floor room was clean, bright, very well appointed, and a nice view to the park across the street. The room my husband and I took was awful. It reeked of old cigarette smoke that had not been adequately cleaned out of the room - obvious that it had in the past been a smoking room. Dark, older outdated furniture, rusty shower curtain rod, broken shower handle... I could go on but the ultimate worst part was the horrible smell. The only reason we did not leave was because my parents were settled into the very nice room. That being said, you cannot run a "hotel" with such drastic variations in quality room by room - rehab ALL of them before you open to the public. I would not stay there again due to the uncertainty of what kind of room you end up with. And there is NO staff on site - not sure the posting on Expedia really made that clear - no daily room service or daily cleaning or replenishing of items - there was a closet that had extra towels and Keurig pods, but it was for the entire place. Just bad bad bad - I will pay extra for the Marriott next time we travel to Quebec.

Room was clean until we dropped stuff behind the drawers and under the bed. Just needs to do a quick sweep but other than that spotless. Location is great though very close to the places we wanted to see. 30mins from airport

The hotel was located in an excellent location. Bedding comfortable. The bathroom had mold mildew. Would stay therecagain

Nous avons adorés l’emplacement, la chambre, la propreté du lieu. Le seul bémol, est que l’eau chaude prend beaucoup beaucoup de temps à arriver dans la douche… mais comme il faisait très très chaud lors de notre séjour, une bonne douche froide a fait du bien!

The room was very nice and clean. Yes you hear a little noise when people are walking around or up and down the stair, but it’s the charm of the old place. Very clean room. Check in went fine even though there’s no one there ☺️

Great location..Property didn’t look quite like picture on the site..Lobby felt old and stairs were dirty and carpet in hallway was dirty and smelled.

This place was average at best. Not really a "hotel".. no front desk, no lobby, no daily housekeeping. You enter the building and walk up a staircase and your at the hallway with the rooms. Our room was clean, but had no window which it made it feel even smaller and claustrophobic. The bathroom was clean but tiny. Simple things were missing like a suitcase stand. The pictures online were deceiving.

The location and price were ideal, and it's a quaint old building but it is old. There were dirty areas, damage to the unit, it's quite small, it takes a while for hot water to come, and it's a small unit. I had to crouch to access the part near the window.

Very good location. It would be nicer if the room had a sofa for relaxing. The shared laundry facilities would also be ideal. Still, this hotel is a great value for everyone.

Just would have appreciated more accurate pictures. Nothing wrong with the hotel, but some rooms must be more modest/plain than others. Expectations did not align with reality. Perhaps they have some disclaimer on their ads that pictures might not match, but hard to fight the feeling that there is a bit of misdirection with some of the photos shown. Thought we would have a spacious stay in a room with rich wooden furniture and accents but instead ended up with a tiny, cold feeling space which felt like a small upgrade from a private hostel room. It was fine. Affordable. Great location. Wish the advertising was more accurate.

Amazing location and good room for the price. Only issue was the electical outlets were very loose, making it difficult to charge electonics. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent and quiet location with easy check-in. Room pictures are deceiving tho as this room had no window view for the price and this should be stated on the site.

The bathroom light was on a timer and twice the lights turned off while I was in the shower. The bathroom sink was small. The room was large but basic.

The Location was great ; that's the main asset. Shower was old, small and drain was very slow evacuating the water. Insonorisation was not the best. Bed was okay, place was clean overall but room didn't had space to lay luggage. Convenient for very short stays.

The room was great, clean, quiet. The location was perfect. My only complaint is that the bed creaked so much, so when my husband got up in the middle of the night he woke both me and my children up.

We booked on hotels.com but communication was through Expedia. We got no check in instructions and waited over an hour in lobby until I found a Spanish shaking employee who called our contact for us.

Support services are very slow and no one is on site. We had issues with the key pad upon arrival. It took 2 hours and the manager finally getting involved to get in our room…in the middle of the night. We then had issues with losing power in the bathroom and all but one plug in the room. It took two days for them to move us to a working room. Otherwise it was a perfect location, very clean, and quiet.

It’s impossible get in touch with someone at hotel. Send multiple message but no reply. There is no reception and only allow to connect via virtually. I wish there is someone to talk to if there is emergency.

The room was in excellent condition but check-in was a stressful ordeal since the information wasn't forwarded from hotels.com to me how to check in. The Auberge reservation contact said they never received my email or phone #. That feels like the responsibility of Hotels.com. In the future I think I will avoid booking with any self check in that doesn't have a LOCAL contact to help with various matters. We didn't feel like we had someone to guide us in parking when we arrived and our car was towed due to not understanding the snow removal policy. We didn't like the feeling of having ZERO local support.

It was clean and nice. Easy to check in. They answered quickly to any matters we had.

The biggest "wow" factor for me was having the host reply to me within less than 1 minute! What amazing customer service, a rarity these days, it seems.

Excellent location, nice accommodations. Totally automated is convenient until your phone dies and all the numbers to access the hotel and your room are stored there. No one around to offer a personal touch. Luckily I remembered the pattern and was able to access the room, phew!

The property itself was a nice old building and kept up pretty well, but the person that was managing the phone calls for the people staying wasn’t answering calls, or getting back, and as the hotel is an unmanned location it’s very difficult to have a problem solved when someone doesn’t get back to you when they lock you out of your room!

Great location, easy to walk around the Old Quebec City area. The building is nice, seems like a lot of the original architecture has been maintained. The rooms were sizable and beds comfortable. Definitely recommend if you're looking for something that can make you feel a bit like a local.

Location was perfect. Walking distance to everything; lots of restaurants cafe near by. Located within the walls of Old Québec, the iconic Fairmont Le Château Frontenac was 4 to 5 blocks away. the best location to discover Quebec City on a budget. 2 blocks from Quebec Parliament; Touring Quebec Parliament was free and lunch was amazing at the Parliament Restaurant.

This is a no frills hotel. It was clean, comfortable and in a great location. However if you are coming in by train and plan to walk to the hotel , know that is a vertical walk up a mountain. They communicate well and we were able to store our luggage.

There was music in the park all night long really loud. I did not like the contactless checkin. I prefer to talk with people.

Walk out the front door and cross the street you are at the city walls. A short walk south and see the sunset and get great pictures of the Chateau Frontenac on one side and the Plains of Abraham on the other.

This place was terrific. Clean, attractive, location is amazing. We had a wonderful time and loved our room.

Liked the old world style and quaintness, the on-site restaurant, and the staff who could speak my language. It was difficult to work the HVAC for the room. Window frames showing rot. Window blinds could not raise and lower easily.

Perfect location. Walked to all the “must see” old city sites. Took ferry over from Levis. Great way to enter Old City. Hotel is so cool. Super clean and turn of the century elegant. Parking & a.m. continental breakfast added to positive experience. Best perk of all is the beautiful, caring & kind owner. Like any travel adventure, it is the people who make (or break) a getaway. Owner definitely made our stay - special.

Fantastic service and excellent breakfast. We only stayed for one night but we wished we have stayed longer. Location is excellent and extremely walkable to all the famous spots. We would stay here again if we visit Quebec city again.

Merveilleux hôtel. Très bien situé, belle vue (côté rue). Agréable et confortable. La famille gérante et les employés sont tous absolument charmants. Le petit déjeuner est excellent et à un prix imbattable. Bref, à choisir sans hésitation!

Lovely small old boutiquey almost B&B style hotel which doubles as a vietnamese restaurant in the evening run by same family owners. We didn't experience any noise problems from restaurant or the location as hotel is on a quieter street looking onto a small park area around the corner from a busy street. In fact location is excellent just inside old city walls very close to the main sights. Very flexible and friendly hosts who accommodated late check-in. Basic but good breakfast of croissant, toast, yoghurt and banana brought to your table rather than buffet style self sevice. Comfortable bed. Nice view over park from (room 2) window. I would happily recommend staying here.

The best hospitality experience so far. I loved my stay at the hotel. Location is perfect for old town & coffee/restaurants are 2 mins away. The host family were phenomenal & very accommodating. I will return and recommend others to stay. Breakfast was simple and coffee was really good.
