Super 8 by Wyndham Charleston WV

I paid and reserved my room thru the Hotels.com app around 4pm that day and I arrived at the hotel around 5:30pm. Upon entering the office to check in the girl at the desk pulled up my reservation and proceeded to check me in and after finding my prepaid room reservation I was told that I would need to supply her with a different credit/debit card so she could place a $100 hold on for “incidentals” as she said. So I did as requested (actually had to give her 2 different cards because she said she was having problems processing my cards). After about 15-20 minutes of her trying she was finally able to process the hold fee. Later in the evening around 9 pm she shows up at my room door to say that the room was non smoking and if I was smoking in the room I would be charged an additional $100 charge. I assured her that I was not smoking in the room and after a 10 min back and forth about the situation she finally left. It made me uncomfortable and did not want to stay there any longer but because my reservation was nonrefundable I had no choice to stay. Hotel was going thru renovations and was a little dirty and clustered in parking lot. I did get a newly renovated room and was not impressed at all. The bathroom doors were banged up and broken and fhe bathroom was dirty with muddy foot prints and dirty washcloths and towels thrown around. Would not recommend

The property well well maintained, but there was a off ramp for the highway within 100 feet of my door. The room was well insulated against the noise though

Didn't know that the super 8 motel was 3rd floor only. Wish we had known that prior. My mother in law was having surgery and we would've liked to have been on the 1st floor. Only saving grace was the elevator. Super 8 is not a bad place, however we would've looked elsewhere.

After ringing the bell and shouting through the security slot for five minutes, I finally needed to call the front desk to get the attention of the apparently sleeping staff member who was rude and dismissive. The room says non-smoking, but someone definitely smoked in this room sometime in the last week or so. Still smells stale. Everything about this building is seedy and dirty. I thought I was going to get stuck in the elevator, which makes a disconcerting clunk as it goes up and down. A sign taped to the front door said “no breakfast to due to renovations.” Looks like it’s been there a while, making me wonder about these so-called renovations. I’m guessing I’m not getting a discount for that unprovided service. But honestly, I don’t think I would eat anything this place provided. The lighting in the rooms is horrendous, bright fluorescent, with no bedside lamps at all. If I hadn’t gotten in as late as I did, I absolutely would have demanded a refund and found another place to stay. Avoid this place.

Hotel is runner down badly

The room was updated, clean and pleasant. The overall property could use some updating. Its a good value, if you’re looking for a cheap, decent room.

The first room was full of dirty linen, the second room smelled as if it was just painted and the three room was dusty, toilet is to low for a tall person, the loony looks nothing like the advertising picture. The railing all around the motel was spiderwebs and spider and wall has spiders and bugs. The lady in the Lobby was nice. Advertisement say the motel has a pool which is not true.

It advertised free breakfast but we didn’t get any. Most of the room was clean just some stains in tub and towels that didn’t make it look clean! There were no bugs!!😊

If you like roaches, water-damaged floors, old towels, broken lamps, broken towel racks, broken AC vents, dirty walls, uncomfortable beds, cold showers, and an exit ramp off the back door this is the place for you. Not worth more than $25 a night

The trim was falling off the walls, the bathroom had rotten drywall, the sheets were stained and had to peel off the top sheet because it was stuck to the bed. The room wreaked of smoke. I woke up to a bug crawling on me. The floors seemed like they were sticky and had spots of stuff all over them. The shower had no hot water and when told they said ‘oh well it takes a REALLY REALLY long time to reach the ends of the building.’

The room smelled like weed and I dont do that stuff. They refuse to put us in another room. The room was not clean even had food in the ice bucket. You can tell someone used the shampoo that is for individual. The desk people was very rude they will not be willing to help yoh unless you get an attitude. There was bed bugs all between creases of bed and curtains. I will never stay here again.

Took the front desk lady 30+ mins to check in. Got there by 4pm checked in be 4:30pm checked out by 5:30pm. The room smelled like cigg smoke, there was ants on the floor, dirty towels, no toilet paper, dirty counter tops, door were broke and would not open or close properly.

The gentleman who checked us in could have been a bit more friendly. I'll give him the benefit the doubt because we did check in at 2 AM. On a good note the bed was really comfy.

We were pleasantly surprised when we checked into our room as the rating for this hotel wasn’t very high. But we were ready to crash for the night. The rooms have recently been remodeled and the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The woman at the front desk was very nice and overall we liked our stay.

They advertise Queen beds in the room they only have double. Not comfortable for 2 large people. Did not even apologize just blamed other people. Morning manager rude and insulting. Said beds the same size. An apology and a small discount would have been nice. Only stayed because night employee said couldn’t refund what we paid when I said beds were not what was advertised. First room had outlets not working. Second had outlets hanging by wires out of the wall. Did not seem to care when told. Don’t stay here.

Phones didn't work got a double instead of a king

Door did not have inside lock. Dogs barking, cat noise, sounded like room above me was throwing a bowling ball around

The room we had the first time we stayed was freshly renovated, This one needed painted and upgrades. Bed was comfortable and very friendly staff.

Staff was very friendly and helpful with my reservation.

They made us wait over a hour to check in with 2 babies waiting

They are not truthful with their financial transactions. When traveling everyone doesn't have extra money to be charged and just be told oops.

Everytime i co.e here super friendly staff and very helpful especially the guy who usually works morning. Only thing is they do hassle you in the am about chexking out wven walking in your room just because you knock and no answer doesnt mean nothing if theres a guest there i couldve had my dick and balls out maam. Its a great place though honestly

I arrived after 2am and no longer had a room because there were no rooms available and it was overbooked. I never received a call or anything notify me of this issue prior to arriving. Fortunately Expedia was able to solve the issue, but the hotel was not helpful.

Nice staff

We arrived around 12:45 in the morning. Sign on the door said they’d be back in 10 minutes. We waited about 25 before ringing the bell. And the gentleman was right inside the door. But he got our paperwork processed into our room quickly.

Stay was good and the staff friendly. Some take away can be provided for breakfast in addition to the coffee
