I just had the most fantastic stay at The Lazy Duck! From the moment I checked in, it as clear this place understands what travelers truly appreciate. They've absolutely mastered the art of paying attention to the small things that make a huge difference. First off, let's talk about the grills outside for guest use. This was an absolute game-changer! After a long day in the park, being able to cook our own dinner outdoors was such a treat. The grills were clean, well-maintained, and perfectly situated for a relaxed evening, with ample areas to eat outdoors also. It added a whole new level of convenience and enjoyment to our trip. And speaking of convenience, I have to give a special shout-out to their ice machine. Now, I know it sounds minor, but how many times have you encountered a slow, sputtering, or just plain sad ice machine at a hotel? Not here! Their ice machine was fast, efficient, and never ran out. It's a small detail, but it speaks volumes about their commitment to guest comfort. Beyond these standout features, every aspect of our room felt thoughtfully considered. The linens were crisp, the amenities were top-notch, and everything was immaculately clean. It's rare to find a motel that gets every little detail right, but The Lazy Duck has truly achieved it. I can't recommend this place highly enough and will definitely be back!

The room was wildly accommodating for our family of 5 and very clean. We stayed in room 30. On site ice machine for free and easy to get bags in and out. Picnic tables, grills, lounging outside. Great place.

The while family enjoyed our stay at the Lazy Duck Inn while skiing at Big Sky. Teenagers were very happy to not have to share a bed. Beds were very comfy. Lots of linens/towels provided. Very quiet location. The building is older but it was very clean and didn't feel "old"- we were very comfortable (new beds/bedding!). Great communication from managers and they even dug the grill out of storage so we could grill our steaks one night. Kitchen is small but it had everything we needed. The drive to and from Big Sky was light traffic (much easier than coming in from Bozeman). Loved this little sleepy town. Next time we will be sure to book a sled tour to complete our winter experience in West Yellowstone.

Had a great stay at the Lazy Duck. It’s a little on the outskirts of town, but the town is so small it didn’t matter, we still walked to diner one night. It was quiet and comfortable. We stayed Labor Day weekend and no AC was no problem we just opened the windows at night. We enjoyed the breakfast voucher but only used it once since most days we left for Yellowstone early. We liked the seating and picnic tables outside. We liked not having to “check in” and just getting sent a door code. We would stay here again.

This place was very cute. I liked that the check in process is very simple and they stock up for the length of the duration. It was very clean and well kept. Loved the vibe and grill areas they provide.

I love the check in process which was great when people are arriving at different times. The place is clean and super cute. We will definately stay here again. The doors could use some WD40 and the heater in my room needs some maintaince but other than that it was perfect.

Easy, quiet & clean

i can't rate this property high enough. everything was clean, tastefully decorated, and so many amenities. we were very comfortable as a family of 4. also close to yellowstone which was our destination.

The Lazy Duck Inn is conveniently located close to the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Also it is close to restaurants and shopping. The room was clean, attractive and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

The shower stall is very small. Very clean and convenient!

The room is clean but needs airing. My nose is extra sensitive and I can smell a strong scent/odour that I can’t describe. However, when I opened the door for 15 minutes, it became tolerable (could be a problem in the winter). The room is neat and tidy and the towels are fairly new. I like that there’s a microwave and fridge and a huge tv (although I don’t really like to watch tv). The walls are somehow thin and you can hear the conversation from the next room, and they were talking until past midnight. There is not enough parking for everyone but you can park at the side street for free. There’s no front desk, however they will answer your call right away if you need help. It’s not also that far from restaurants and shop, it’s about 5-7 minute drive. Overall, I’m pretty satisfied considering the cheaper prize that I paid compared to the other hotels that you can find in the area. I will surely come back to stay whenever I’m in Yellowstone. I would give it a 4.5 if there is that option.

Very clean, updated and cute! We loved the contactless check-in! The breakfast coupon was a very nice and unexpected touch! We really appreciated and enjoyed the restaurant! Would highly recommend and stay again!!

Wi-Fi signal is not good in room.

The room was clean spacious and had a very nice kitchen area with a dishwasher! Beds were comfy. No ac but had a fan and sleepy was pleasant.

Great little motel, very close to the West entrance of Yellowstone. Nice little kitchen was handy. Shower was a bit small but otherwise great base for seeing the park.

The TV volume was turned down so low that you could barely hear it even right in front of it and it took a good ten minutes of fooling with it to get it to where you could hear. There was no staff on the property to answer any questions and of course, no breakfast. For $310 a night, I would expect better. $109 of this was taxes and fees. I would never stay in West Yellowstone again. Cody, WY by the east entrance to Yellowstone is much more tourist friendly.

While we like the no contact check-in and out, the property did not live up to the advertising. There was no AC, only a fan. The shower stall was tiny, and we're not big people, maybe 3ft ×2ft. The breakfast voucher was a nice touch but the restaurant's menu left little to be desired. The town of West Yellowstone was fun. Nice shops that stayed open late. Great proximity to Yellowstone NP entrance.

Tara looks sketchy but it’s not, just the looks. Bed is super comfy. You won’t ever meet any staff as I never saw one person. Don’t expect any morning service, but the bed is insanely comfortable. You are safe on that area

Area around hotel was very dark at night and run down but did not encounter any safety issues. Minutes drive to the west entrance of park! No staff on site but they were relatively responsive via text if needed. We only stayed two nights but for longer stays, would want a clean and fresh supplies. At 350 a night, would maybe stay again since all hotels and motels in the area charge very high fees due to the proximity to the park. Cute updated style motel over all. Had all the supplies needed, bottle water for one night, wine and coffee glasses, coffee and plasticware and plates.

This is a quaint hotel located on the western side of town. Overall the room was good. It was clean and even had a small kitchen. The bathroom (especially the shower) was small, but functional. They do leave you a little goodie gift of a rubber duck, taffy, and water. Check in process was simple and easy. They were very communicative with emails up till the time of check in. I had a hiccup with the room when I first checked in. There is a number to call to get a hold of someone; and they responded very quickly to take care of the situation. Admittedly, I was a little apprehensive about no front desk; but everything was great. I would recommend this motel.

Property management folks that came during the day were very friendly and accommodating. Room overall was very mice and the decor was very nice. Mostly quiet in the evening and easy to sleep.

I liked the easy check in process! Though wasn’t a real check in, the host just texted me the code to get in the room. The door wasn’t secure when we arrived so that was a little strange. Room was decorated nicely. Clean.

The property was clean and new, and staff talked to was excellent with information, but during my 3 day stay, hosekeeping NEVER checked in with me to empty garbage or ask if I needed more towels. They were on the property each day but only seemed to clean empty rooms and then left. Still a pleasant stay at a reasonable rate but a little weird about the housekeeping.

A very nice stay at a very nice place that exceeded our expectations. Easy chec in, responsive staff and an incredible property that made our Yellowstone experience all the more special. Hope that we can bring the grandchildren back for more fun.

Its a renovated Motel at the far end of town thats maybe 4 or 3 blocks from main street. The pictures are exactly as it is with neat touches like an airbnb. Its very comfortable. Sweet place.

If you are staying here in the summer be prepared that the rooms have no AC units. They give you a fan for the room that does not cool the room at all. Honestly, if my stay wasn’t 14 hours away from home I wouldn’t have paid the amount I did for a place like this. They did provide coffee in the rooms, 2 waters, and some candy that was very kind of them. It is located in the back of the town which is very nice to get out of traffic but still within minutes of town square and the West Yellowstone entrance.

Our stay at the Lazy Duck was comfortable with easy access to Yellowstone park. Plenty of dining options close by. The only drawback was there is no AC although you don't need it at night and you should not be spending much time there during the day so it was fine with just a fan. We would stay there again.

quiet place to stay, bed is a little small for two people. Breakfast isn’t on site, you have to drive to a different place to eat and they only provide a voucher of $10.95 per person, you still need to pay what’s over and tips.

It was a pleasure staying at "The Lazy Duck" during my recent visit to West Yellowstone". The location was easy to find and Check-in was seamless. The room was clean, cute and well stocked for morning coffee. We appreciated the breakfast voucher to the "Old Town Cafe". Breakfast was great! We recommend "The Lazy Duck" for all future guests! Thank you so much for your hard work! The room was lovely!

Clean. Quiet. Comfy. We booked our stay for a last minute trip at the Lazy Duck and were not disappointed! A great spot as a base camp for Yellowstone National Park. No breakfast on property—-but you do get breakfast vouchers at a nearby cafe. We would definetly stay here again and look forward to how the property evolves as it is under new management.

I had low expectations for this motel but it is actually very nice and comfortable. Note: they say that breakfast is included, it’s not. They give a voucher for a local restaurant that will cover about 1/2 your bill. The room has a very good coffee set up and smal kitchen. We bought food and ate in.
