Residence Inn by Marriott Harlingen

Couple things happened that soured my experience. 1) the airport shuttle promised was out of service, so I incurred an $18 unanticipated cost and 2) a cockroach came out to greet us upon our departure

They upgraded me (so they said ). Ended up in a handicap room with broken tiles and water leaking. room was loud and you could hear all the noise from the people smoking outside. They were installing new carpet in the halls and piled it in front on my door

I got an early check in which was good. I told receptionist I wanted a quiet room on an upper floor and asked if the construction going on in the rooms was nearby and he said no. I ended up being three rooms down from renovation in the rooms and the workers blocked the egress with a big chair. Heard them talking in the hall while they were working, but thankfully no loud music I departed the next day before breakfast, but there was a grab and go, which was nice. When I returned after a 12 hour day, key door malfunctioned and I was unable to unlock it until maintenance Came up to fix it. That required three separate trips down to the receptionist. When I went in the temperature was 80° and the maintenance man put the AC on cool which malfunctioned and sent the temperature up to 87. This required another call to the front desk, who sent the maintenance man back up but it was unfixable. The front desk was initially unable to give me a new room saying the hotel was full and they couldn’t accommodate me and I either had to stay in that room or they would try to find me a different hotel but I had to pay the difference. After calling three hotels all were full. After an hour I was finally given another room with AC. Despite offers of staff to help me move all of my belongings, nobody came to help me. This was very frustrating to say the least since I was in town that was new to me, and it was about 7 o’clock and dark out when this happened

The downstairs was under construction. There was limited seating for breakfast and no where to sit in the lobby, yet we were given no discount.

Clean rooms and hotel. Excellent breakfast, easy parking and great location. Staff were excellent:)

It was nice enough. My only complaint is that the pool was not very clean.

Love relaxing & having a small get away , it’s always clean & organizable

I recently had an awful experience at this hotel. Upon entering, the entire place felt incredibly humid, making it very uncomfortable. The receptionist was extremely rude and unhelpful, which set a terrible tone for my stay. When I got to my room, it had a terrible odor that made it impossible to relax. Adding to the frustration, they demanded a pet deposit after I had already checked in. When I stepped away to address this issue, they refused to refund me. Overall, it was a highly disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly and it is quite location- good for resting.

High regards to this Hotel for its cleanliness, location and comfortable suite. We will definitely stay here again!

Extremely clean !!

Staff were very nice. Breakfast was good. 1st room they assigned me (315) had an industrial fan blowing when I opened the door. 2nd room (314) was handicapped, which is no big deal. Room was fine, shower had very low water pressure and the hand held sprayer had broken away from the gadget on the wall and just hanging down.

I love the full kitchen. It made it easy to save a little instead of having to go out for every meal. It was nice and quiet and the bed was comfortable. We’ll definitely stay here again.

Room was lackluster. Handle broken on the toilet, shower held together with zip ties. For the money would not stay here again

We travel to Harlingen all the time, and this was our first stay in this hotel. The location is great, close to dining options and the highway without being too noisy. Staff was super friendly even when we had some issues with the booking, I truly appreciated their help. Rooms need to be updated a little bit, but they were clean and very comfortable. Our room in particular had a broken oven (door was falling off) which wasn't an issue because we didn't have to use it, and when we pointed it out to staff they told us they were already working on replacing it. The hotel itself is very clean and we were very impressed, we would definitely stay here again. Once again, shoutout to the amazing staff!

The fact that nothing is immediately around it besides the Outdoor World / Bass Pro shop, and especially that there is really no one parking for that store on this side of the building, means there is much less likelihood of random people walking around or checking out vehicles or people checking into the hotel, than if it was in a more dense area. Also, though, the rooms are nice, the place is clean, the breakfast is good with many hot and cold options, and the staff is friendy.

Stay was good, front desk was not kind

Property is safe, quiet and easy to check in. The person who checked me in made sure I would not be charged with 3rd party vendor. I appreciated she took the extra step and time to make a phone call at midnight.

Male employee in morning shift in reception and dining area was brry unprofessional. Cursing. Flirting harassing coworkers. Walking into breakfast area wjerr guests were cursing and neing loud. Too comfortable and obnoxiously behavior.

The entire staff was great.

Paul at the front desk was a fantastic host, and the breakfast attendant also was very nice, attentive, and kept up well with replenishing and cleaning

We travel to Harlingen all the time, and this was our first stay in this hotel. The location is great, close to dining options and the highway without being too noisy. Staff was super friendly even when we had some issues with the booking, I truly appreciated their help. Rooms need to be updated a little bit, but they were clean and very comfortable. Our room in particular had a broken oven (door was falling off) which wasn't an issue because we didn't have to use it, and when we pointed it out to staff they told us they were already working on replacing it. Paul and his team were very helpful and always greeted us as we entered or left the hotel. It was a little snug w 4 adults but we weren't in the room for long except to sleep and prepare to go out again. Would've liked to have protein (bacon or sausage) with the breakfast would be my only request.

Good location and nice spacious room. No cleaning service and breakfast is not worth waking up for. What’s offered is not good and very small selection. Coffee was either empty or cold every time we used it.
