The Montauk Soundview

This was a great place to stay because of the proximity to the beach (Sunset Beach), the pool, and all of the amenities in our studio. We were surprised to find a fully stocked kitchen, a full-size fridge, and a deck with table and chairs for our unit. The bed was pretty old and seemed in need of repair, but otherwise the room was fine. No coffee creamer for the free coffee in the lobby was a disappointment. Office desk has limited hours and they didn’t provide much info at check in.

Very nice and comfortable stay with pool, parking, BBQ area, and access to a rocky beach on the property. Staff was also very nice with good recommendations.The shower was just so tiny and I found strands of hair in the shower and bedding. I Would still stay here again.

The Soundview’s 2 bedroom cottage was great! Perfect for a family of 3-4ppl. Had all the kitchen essentials, ideal for a meal out on the open porch. The beds were okay, could use a little improvement. The property has a nice pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The complex itself gives off beachy family style vibes, perfect for a short getaway. We loved the property’s own private beach. The beach gave off a secluded european vibe and was perfect for sunbathing, swimming, walking or finding little treasures in the sand. The waves were not too harsh for swimming. Lastly, the property is very nicely located, away from the touristic scene of Montauk town. We enjoyed morning walks on the beach or down the road, admiring the astonishing private beach homes! The sunsets from the property are incredible, some of the best in town! Great property right on the water with a pool overlooking the water. Patrons are friendly and it is convenient to what Montauk has to offer. This was our 5th stay and we will be back. Excellent for families

This hotel is so beatifully located right next to the beach. I really enjoyed looking out my window and having a BEAUTIFUL view of the ocean. However. I was very disappointed with the service. There is absolutely no vending machines, the staff stated they cannot supply us with just 2 bottles of water. In a place with barely any service and being in a remote area, i found this very inconvenient. Additionally, the ice machines are locked and was advised by staff that we have to pay for the ice. For spending nearly $600 a night, this is just ridiculous. Oh, and the bed was by far the most UNCOMFORTABLE bed ive ever slept on. The floor wouldve been more comfortable. It was hard as a rock and i still have really bad back pain from this bed. Also, there is no cafeteria, no breakfast. No place to eat on campus. If this place wants to charge $600 per night, they really need to have the BASIC necessities available for their clients. The only reason this review has 2 stars instead of 1 is only because the view to the ocean was absolutely beautiful. I will not be revisiting this hotel in the future.

I loved that we could see the water from our cabin. I also liked the pool area. It was a great place to watch the sunset.

My stay was terrific. The only issue is that there are steps and no elevator or staff to help with bags. So if you cannot handle baggage and steps, best to ask for a first floor apartment.

We really wanted a relaxing day with no need to drive anywhere. This property gave us exactly this. The property is situated in a perfect location. The room we rented was very clean and perfect for a party of two. It is a beachfront property with excellent views. The sunset was breathtaking and early morning weather was perfect. The beach was beautiful with waves that were gentle and meditative. The pool was refreshing too. Restaurants were walking distance.

I liked that there was easy access to a beach area, not quite swimmable but very nice to walk along the shore. They had a nice little bbq area where yoi can bring your own items. I loved the pool. Very clean. Would go back!

Loved Soundview. It's in a great location and the views are amazing. My only issue is parking. There were blue cones that were for owners everywhere and at times hard to find a decent spot to park. But, it wasn't too bad. Highly recommend

We’ve stayed at the Soundview with our family several times, this was the last time we will stay there. We planned on cooking in the kitchen, swimming in the pool and weren’t able to do either. I called a month before we stayed, I was told we had a kitchen & the pool was to be closed after the weekend after our stay. Our room was small, no kitchen, no pool, there was mold on the shower curtain and dark hair outside the toilet. When we spoke to the manager, he was unprofessional and rude. We were hung up on but I learned later his name was Richard. Unfortunately, Soundview will never have our business again.

Clean room and excellent staff, lovely stay!

Great views. room was in poor condition. pretty sure there was feces in the shower. Red wine was spilled all over the dresser when we checked in. Cleaning between bookings was terrible.

Although the property is beautiful our cottage was not. Aside from the rooms needing TLC the kitchen was dirty. Coffee in the pot from the previous guests, the mirror in the room was also filthy. Hair all over! Upon check in I requested ice (as stated on their site) but was told they no longer see ice. Needed towels….they cane 5 hrs later. It’s frustrating when you save money to go away for a few days yet can’t stand the rooms cleanliness. Requested maid service and they came at 5pm when we returned from being out all day. The outside seating area for our cottage was also left in disarray by the previous guests. Solo cups all around porch.

Overall the air conditioning did not cool the room on the coldest setting. The bathroom had a terrible odor. No pool towels when needed. Room didnt feel clean. Crumbs on floor, refrigerator/freezer was defrosting with water leaking. Microwave had rust. No utensils- but plates were available?

Very clean room. The moment I walked in I could tell it was thoroughly cleaned which was wonderful. Nice view of the water and easy to walk to nearby restaurants.

Highly overpriced in my opinion. The room was so small that we could barely walk, AC extremely noisy, Wifi only worked like 50 percent of the time and on top of that we had as neighbors a crazy family that had 0 respect or education for others and since day one they were yelling in the middle of the night and listening to music at very high volume.

There was a mouse in our room. The bed was like cardboard and the ac unit didn’t work

The place had terrible furniture. The sofa in the living room was in terrible shape, the beds were mattresses on frames and not at all comfortable. The bathroom is in immediate need of an upgrade. For $700/night this place is not at all worth it.

The air conditioner didn’t work in the blinds in the room were all ripped up. There were ants in the room

A bit disappointing for a 3 star hotel. The room had very cheap furniture. The bed and couch felt like it could break if we didn’t gently sit on them. The bathroom could only fit one person at a time and the shower was about 3 feet by 3 feet, which was incredibly uncomfortable. The staff is inattentive. They didn’t change our bed sheets or towels. When it came time to check out, there was no one at the desk. They don’t even have one of those bells you can ring to get the attention of the staff, so I had to yell towards their break room to get their attention. This place is really just a motel with a good location.

This property was very nice but I wouldn’t recommend booking off season. We booked for Mother’s Day through Expedia and although we arrived prior to 6pm, there was nobody onsite to check us in. When I called the number for the property I was connected to an answering service that did not have direct access to anyone from the property.I was fortunate to find someone who was staying at the property that had a contact number for one of the employees. I finally got a call from Mark (who was very friendly) who told me I should’ve received an email with after hours check in instructions.I did not receive that email until 9:45pm the day we checked out! Mark gave us our unit number and passcode so we could get into the room. Once inside we discovered that we didn’t have any towels nor the WiFi password. This made it difficult to get a hold of Mark again. When we finally did he had someone deliver towels. You’d think with all this trouble he would honor our request for a late checkout but he did not. Pretty disappointing. Perhaps they run better during peak season.

I've stayed at the Montauk Soundview 3 times during the last 3 months and it is a wonderful getaway from city life. Whether you stay in a studio or a suite, you get water views and the rooms are clean. The staff is also professional and helpful. I would definitely visit there again.

Very nice room and property. Staff was lazy and ignored my phone calls and stared at their phones when I tried to talk to them.

Property was clean and centrally located. Front desk not staffed 24/7 so no access to extra towels. No complimentary ice. WiFi password was posted on an office door but not in the room. We were located in a room next to a very busy family that was up before 6:00am. Asked to move rooms but front desk did not have authority to do so. Contacted reservations who promised to "see what they could do" but never called back. Room was also extremely small so entire stay was like luggage jenga.

Our stay at The Montauk Soundview was perfect in every way. The room was clean and perfect for our family of 4, the views were breathtaking and the staff was phenomenal.

Great place to stay. The hotel property is a great place to kick back and relax. The cheapest rooms are small, the bigger rooms have porches and better views.

I stayed recently at the Montauk Soundview resort and it is very quiet, clean and you have a good view of the water. There are good seafood restaurants nearby and the staff are friendly. I would recommend this resort for people that want a convenient place in Montauk that is close to Montauk Lighthouse and State Park.

Beautiful place to stay. Great location with a beautiful view of the water. Really enjoyed our stay here this past weekend.

You cannot charge $350-$400 a night and not have coffee or coffee pods the room or an ice machine on property. There was a dead bug in the envelope for the cleaning service. Also, there should be a time - 8pm where children cannot screaming in the pool and running around the property loudly.

I stayed here from August 14-16th 2024. There are pros and cons of my visit. The room was clean and well lit. I love that they had a swimming pool plus we had access to the actual beach. One of my cons is the bed is right under the air conditioner which ended having my eyes being red. I felt there was reasonable enough space in the room for the bed to be at a different angle. They do not serve breakfast and most of the restaurant/eatery around the area do not serve breakfast. I ended up going to Tony's that has a delicatessen. In the past i have stayed at similar establishment as Montauk Soundview and they offered breakfast. Although I came with a teenager son I can only imagine family with smaller children having to find and travel for breakfast. They do not have a 24 hour concierge the person leaves at 9pm which i can understand to an extent but was still nerve racking. They have a number to call after 9pm if there was an emergencies. A coffee machine in the room but no coffee come to find out i had to get it from the office. There is not even an ice machine but the room does have a little refrigerator and stove. I do not know if it was an accident but there was no wash rags when we signed in. I did not make it a big deal since we were there for such a short time. The housekeeper came the second day and we requested it and was giving the wash rags. Overall the visit was good/reasonable.

Nice pool with a view. Great girl at check-in handled our comedically delivered request for a room with a better view with returned laughter and attentiveness. Freshly remodeled exteriors look great. What seems to be lacking at this property, however, are the small management details (perhaps because it's the end of the season approaching???), ranging from a complete lack of silverware in the room's kitchenette to the absence of towels in the bathroom to the last three creamers by the Keurig machine during the morning "rush hour" and the disaffected explanation of "Oh, sorry, they're on order."
