We appreciated how clean the room, kitchen and bathrooms were. We weren't able to enjoy the breakfast as we had an early morning flight and the breakfast was not open before we had to leave for the airport.

This was meant to be a convenient overnight before a return trip through Keflavik. It may be only a few kilometers from the airport, but in Iceland, it costs $25-30 USD each way. Food at KEF is very limited. A 15 minute walk into town is forbidding when the weather turns - it was quite stormy when we were there. A guest house is a different kind of accommodation than most in the US, a bit spare and utilitarian. We had the beds needed and a bathroom for our family room. We spent more time than planned in the kitchen area, as there was no common area with comfortable seating. Inexplicably, there was a jail cell at the end of the hall. We paid for breakfast, which was a Nordic-style buffet. Communication about shuttles was confusing. The main business is around long-term car parking. Only return shuttle to KEF was available. This stay could be a good fit for those that have a rental car and just need a bed for a night.

I was surprised that the building is literally in a large parking lot. The lot was quite full, and it took some time to find a parking place. The check in was easy, and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room was very sparse, but clean. The bed was not made, sheets and blankets were provided, and the bed was comfortable. This was a convenient place to get a few hours' sleep before our early flight.
