We loved the rooftop bar with the planted live wall, friendly service and great views. Our room was super cozy and the turndown service was a nice touch. I wish someone had mentioned at checkin that if we parked our vehicle at the recommended garage we needed to have our valet ticket validated and would have received 50% off the parking fee. $$ Convenient location and safe.

The room was good - clean, quiet, and comfortable with a great layout and a nice bathroom. Water pressure was strong, and we especially liked the body wash and shampoo provided. The building has scaffolding outside that stays lit at night, and unfortunately, the blackout blinds didn’t work, so it was a bit bright. That aside, it was a lovely stay. The rooftop is a nice touch, and the property includes a lounge, two restaurants, and a gym. Perfect for a one-night stay with solid amenities.

Excellent stay. The hotel is beautiful and staff is amazing. It was very disappointing that one of our three nights of stay, the entire 4 th floor and top floor were both closed for a private party. That was a selling point to us, but then not able to use it.

Amazing experience! Location is amazing, staff are incredible. Roof top bar experience was also amazing! The elevators were a little persnickety but nothing that was inconvenient. Thinking about staying here, i definitely recommend. You will not be disappointed!

Great stay ! We loved this hotel. Excellent location, extra clean rooms, friendly staff. Only thing you should know; at 150$/night parking is more expensive than most other hotels. You can self park not too far though for a more reasonable rate. Also, be warned that the hotel is located on the south side of 42nd street, which is a two-way street. Regarding the VIP status on Expedia, we had to ask for the vouchers to get free beverages and the person at the reception did not seem aware of it but upon showing her a proof of the status, she handed us two vouchers.

The rooms are nice and modern but the elevators are a pain, they don’t work properly and are slow. There’s good convenient access to Times Square but it’s also a bit noisy at night especially if you’re on a lower floor. They don’t create priority for their guests at their rooftop restaurant which is a bit strange. Overall I would not rate this a 5 star. It’s more like a 4 star

The way we were treated was unprofessional and unwelcoming. Overall, for the price, I expected a better experience. There are definitely better options in the area — and until the elevator situation is addressed, I wouldn't return.

The staff was so great and attentive. I had an issue with my credit card in the airport and they were so patient at check in while I was able to get it cleared up. The hotel is so clean. The housekeeping/turn down service was pristine.

Spacious room, nice features like central lighting console, very safety conscious in terms of access to the facility. Located right in the heart of NYC but in spite of location at 42nd and Broadway my room was totally quiet. Overall I really enjoyed this stay and would come back.

On arrival there was no one there to show us where to go we were just told to go to the back, when we got to the desk they took our card and charged us something like $500 more than expected just in case we used the in room dining. This felt very strange as there was no mention of this before our arrival and we’d planned our money for the holiday and would’ve preferred just to pay for the food as and when we purchased it. The room was nice, bed was perfect. Unfortunately there was some stains on the carpet floor and the blinds didn’t close properly. Also, a minor issue but the TV has no option for services such as Netflix so we were stuck watching basic tv channels or pay a frankly extortionate amount for ppv in the realms of $25 per film. Another issue with the room is the view, if you’re expecting a view of Times Square like we were you will be disappointed, all we got was a view of some offices and a concrete courtyard. The staff were lovely and made our honeymoon feel important with some chocolate strawberries and an extra drink. Location of the hotel is absolutely ideal, though its a shame the scaffolding is currently blocking us from getting a nice picture of it. Rooftop bar is really nice for a drink late at night but we would not have paid the prices if we didn’t have a drinks token. Is it 5 star? I wouldn’t have said so, the vast majority of the cost is purely for the location I think as the room/service is only really ‘okay’. Overall it was a nice stay.

Hotel location was very good. Centrally located close to lots of things. Room was dark and had horrible tiny windows. Rooms are also loud. I could hear guests walking, opening closing doors, elevators. Did not like the vibe of the rooms at all. Blank walls. No mini bar. Very gloomy room, this is NOT a 5 star hotel. Will not stay here again.

I loved the location! The property was clean. Service was good, except the lobby coffee was gone before 7:30 AM. The design of the rooms is terrible. There is no door to the bathroom. Glass separates the shower and the toilets, and the hallway door enters into the bathroom space. We stayed in a room with two queen beds, and if someone was in the shower, no one could leave the room without exposing the naked person showering to whoever might be in the hallway. People want real doors when they use the toilet. Is it really too expensive for nice hotels to afford walls and doors for bathrooms?

Only good thing about this property is the location, very close to all sights and in prime Times Square location , great restaurants nearby and most things are walking distance. Staff and service however is mediocre, very slow service and check in and check out is chaotic! Staff panic when busy, doesn’t make guests feel welcome. Overall an ok stay

We just returned from almost a week-long stay at The Knickerbocker hotel and loved our time there! Fantastic location with great access to main subway lines. The team at The Knickerbocker hotel was beyond welcoming and so helpful! A special shoutout to James who is part of the concierge team who provided excellent recommendations throughout the whole week and was so genuine and kind! We appreciated the exceptional service we received and can’t wait to go back. We look forward to another stay at this fantastic hotel.

Nice renovated room, but service was awful. A very pale bellman yelled “Get in line!” when I asked for a quick key reset, even though I was late for a meeting. Housekeeping ignored my privacy sign and entered the room, leaving my confidential work papers exposed. Manager Kevin was defensive, offered no apology, and dismissed my concerns. Definitely not 5-star—avoid.

Excellent! Clean. Peaceful. Staff is exceptionally attentive and accommodating. Brandon was wonderful to watch out for our luggage lost by the airlines to be delivered to us at the hotel. Many thoughtful gestures made by the staff throughout our stay. We’re grateful.

What a disappointing stay. Really feel there should be some refund. Arrive at 11am. Pre checked in and was told I’d receive a text when the room was ready. Normal check in time is 3pm. Never received text so called at 3:05. Took 4 calls to get someone on the phone. The woman who answered was so rude. But she said my room was ready so I proceeded to the check in area. After standing in line for 20 minutes the male clerk then says my room isn’t ready. I told him I didn’t need a particular bed just a room that was available. I was given 923 and not sure if it was intentional but no sleep happened because you could hear the crappy elevator run all day and night. Then at 7am the carbon monoxide alarm starts going off for short bouts of time. Tried calling the front desk and the guest service button goes no where. Call hotel directly and no one answers.

From the first person who checked us in (Lucy) to Jay, the concierge to Andre, one of the excellent bellman our stay was perfect. Will never stay at another place in New York. Rooms were great, rooftop bar was beautiful and had great cocktails. Great location especially if you are theatre people. Walked everywhere easily! 5+stars

Front desk sometimes doesn’t respond. Or took more than half an hour to get something delivered to guest room. i asked for a cutlery over the phone and nothing happened more than 30 minutes and called them again, then took 10 minutes from there… just for some forks though. And at the frontdesk, one guest was complaining that pillows which she asked for via phone never comes so she finally come down to front desk to directly urge them. Apparently they are luck of resources or nonprofessional service. Location was perfect for shoping and dining.

When I booked my stay I chose the Knickerbocker for the location, I had no idea the incredible hospitality and accommodations we’d receive. My family and I were treated like VIP guests, something I haven’t experienced in other similarly priced hotels. The gentlemen at the door were very attentive and Diana the concierge went out of her way to help us with everything from dining reservations, subway directions, and even teaching us how to confidently cross the street. During our 6 day stay we were warmly greeted and offered help every time we stepped into the quiet lobby from the bustling street. I’m sorry I didn’t catch his name, but one of the gentleman that helped us with our luggage was so kind to listen to our very talkative little one and gave me invaluable tips for our trip to the Brooklyn Bridge. I highly recommend staying here to anyone who is visiting NYC for the first time because the staff will help you navigate the city like a local.

Hotel is in great shape. Rooms are nice, large and comfortable. Only thing to keep in mind is that by being so close to Times Square, you'll likely hear a lot of street noise until fairly late at night.

The room itself was not great, poorly designed, and obviously not well-maintained. The location, while convenient, was chaotic. Of course, its Times Square. But the whole hotel is covered in scaffolding and the area around it is just dumpy.

Great location but does come with the noise and crowded lobby. Getting an Uber or taxi out of the middle of Times Square will also cost you. I’d love this place if it were 3 blocks off in any direction.

Location, location, location. Close to Times Square. However this property is not one of the "Times Square type of hotel". It is part of The Leading Hotels of the World group. Very nice breakfast. Great bar. And a very cool rooftop. I've been staying in this property for more than 7 years, and being happy so far.

Rooms were ok but ours was very noisy until 2 am every night. Our room was small, asked for a cot and got a baby crib instead. Ate at the steakhouse and paid $600. Our waiter was terrible and rude. We notified the manager but never heard back. Bathrooms in restaurant were dirty - it was a group of us there from various places and wanted an enjoyable evening the server ruined it for us although the food was very good. Concierge and everyone else was excellent. If I stayed there again I’d skip the steak house although the food was good the service was terrible.

My husband and I stayed and went to a Broadway show. We were upgraded and the room was spacious, had robes and slippers, great shower with toiletries, etc. In-room dining was available. The rooftop bar was so trendy and I had the best cocktail ever. We also had dinner at Charlie Palmer. Everything in one place. Awesome!

Our second stay, and again an exceptional experience, Charlie Palmer restaurant again was excellent, for dinner and breakfast, the staff was very attentive, steaks cooked perfectly, even a well done filet was perfect. The restaurant is a large part of the criteria I use for my hotel selection, location also, The Knickerbocker has been excellent the entire stay each visit.

Perfect location for a Christmas Holiday NYC getaway! Only downside was scaffolding obscuring the full grandeur of this historic hotel. All the hotel staff were excellent and extremely accommodating! A special shout out to Juan at the 4th floor bar for his hard work and conversation during the hectic holiday season.

Our room felt luxurious, especially the bathroom. The shower was amazing, great water pressure. The customer service was perfect. The restaurant was expensive, but the lobster bisque was delicious. The hotel is in the theater district and it was easy to walk to see Hamilton. Times Square was super close, also! I would stay here again.

The staff were fantastic. Answering questions, offering suggestions. Hotel is beautiful, clean, beds were comfortable and the ammenities were fantastic. The cafe, resteraunt, and rooftop were all excellent! Beautiful hotel with a cool history. Enjoyed the book in our room to learn about the area.
