Busy new build hotel. Clean and functional Not a fan of self check in on iPads. If staff do show face you are fighting with the iPads in your way on the counter during check in. More customers than staff to deal with them. The business is getting run lean on staff for profit IMO. Resturant is pub food that is good enough but is costly for what you get. Again not enough staff to deal with customers. Customers seating themself and sharing menus between tables as no one is there to keep order and explain what to do. Then staff asking people to move table as seated at breakfast tables. Customer’s rightly pointing out that no other tables are available as the empty ones are not cleaned or set from previous customers. Staff are fire fighting constantly trying to manage the situation. I never used the pool or gym but is available. There appears to be a lot of non hotel residents using these facilities again taking the time of limited staff members. The hotel looks good with nice facilities if only there was skilled people to coordinate the service and keep the younger members of the team focused. Again at breakfast it felt like the few staff members were unable to deal with the work load. Breakfast food did not arrive when finished and lacked a leading person to keep order during my 30mins. Room is functional and clean with location perfect for my needs. Could be easily improved with a few key staff managing the limited team.

The hotel is good but some facilities were poor. The jacuzzi was out of order & the sauna had broken seats. Also our room had limited plus points, making it difficult to iron while others were hetting ready.

Hotel was in a good location and the gym and pool were both amazing, they gave me chance to maintain my training program even away from home. Way better than the usual hotel Gym which is usually a single treadmill in the basement and a couple of weights. Quality of food was good the night I ate there and the breakfasts each morning were to a good standard

Staff could be a little more attentive to customers. Pool and gym are always crowded as it’s not exclusive fly for the use of hotel guests but open to genera public. Other than the science museum there is not much to do around that area. Overall the experience was OK

Really nice big room. Bed was comfortable. The only issue I had was the outside patio area. From our bedroom window we could see a couple having dinner about 6pm the night before. That night their table still hadn’t been cleared at 11pm, then the next morning at 10am the table still had the dirty plates and the condiments sitting outside, obviously all night. Not hygienic and poor cleanliness.

Swimming pool area wasn't clean, 2 mugs and 2 glasses provided for a 4 person room. Breakfast ran out of food well before end of breakfast service and other customers turned away before end of breakfast. One woman had all the milk taken away as she was filling her bowl with cereal. Cleaner walked in on us in our room using her master key well before checkout time. Staff at front desk and in restaurant were lovely though and very helpfill and polite.

Had to be moved room as the shower tray looked like it hadn’t seen hot clean water for some considerable time. The room we got moved to had old sweets and sweets wrappers under the bed that is actually on castors so it can be moved easily. I’ve stayed in Village hotels up and down the country for work and this is by far the worst for level of cleanliness

Clean room, except dirty stain on carpet (room 313). Gentlemen on reception was very friendly and checked us in early. Disappointed with the food in bar as for £53 we felt dissatisfied. Potato skins were rock solid and fish was soggy and tasteless. No staff came to check on us to see if we were okay and bar was swamped so couldn’t pass on concerns.

A grubby room (dirty cup with a hair in it, hairs in the bed and dirty (used looking) shower tray. There was a prom in the hotel so it felt impossible to relax in the lobby. Young boys and girls throwing things etc and v loud just horrible. You might accept this if the price reflected it but £230 for an outside central location basic room is unacceptable.

It was just ok. For £170 per night you would expect better standards. Staff was nice but the room had a mould on a silicon bath seal. There was a spider net in the corner of the window. The carpet was quite dirty in one area of room. When we entered the room it was colder than on the main corridor. The temperature was showing 18C. It took good few hours to heat it up to 21C. The lightning was also poor. It was just too dark in a room and no way to make it any brighter. Swimming pool was very nice but it was crowdy when we were there. Swim line on the left was next to people’s flip flops so you could smell people’s feet when swimming. Guess this one is not hotel’s fault. On the bright side the view from the room window was great. Seeing Scottish Hydro at night is truly something. All in all we will not be coming back. Not for this price.

Okay, Here goes. We requested and received an accessible room as my wife has mobility issues. The room smelt of mould and drains when we arrived. The hotel was full so an alternate room was unavailable. Housekeeping shortly arrived with a plug in glade air fresher to mask the smell which it did for the room but not the bathroom. The bathroom was nice and large, ideal for a wheelchair. Too dark however with just 3 led bulbs illuminating the sink, toilet and shower in an otherwise all black tiled room. The bathroom light switch was at the front door and it was so dark I mistook the emergency assistance cable for the light switch. The staff were lovely and obliging (best part of the stay). The Full size bed was very comfortable but too small for my wife and I who are used to a California King type bed. We were aware of this in advance so can't be annoyed. There was no fridge in the room. A mini fridge is a must even if just to keep your bottle of water cold. No ice maker on any floor, Ice was only available in the bar. No proper furniture in the room. A small box type cabinet with two drawers one housing the hairdryer and a single chair completed the furnishings for the room. The carpet was badly stained most likely due to the lack of furniture. The internet was great. Nice and fast at around 200mb download speeds. No difficult passwords or setup required but maybe a VPN would help against any bad actors here. The pool was excellent with a perfect water temp of about 30C or 86F

the pool clean room, nice shower and comfy bed - the location 2 miles from city centre and very few local amenities - had to pay extra for the pool - no fridge in the room - view from back of hotel was the corrugated plastic of the vast pool roof! - wanted £33 a day for 2 breakfasts!! I arrived late to the hotel and I think they were about to stop serving food in about 1/2 hour which was fine but I'm a vegetarian and didn't see a lot of veg options on the menu. I settled for a dish of fries. The room was okay, very cold when I entered it and looked out onto a room space. It was clean enough. During the night however my door kept rattling. Not sure if it was wind rushing underneath it or if it was someone trying the door but it was a little annoying other than that it was an okay hotel. Didn't have breakfast so can not rate it.

Good hotel, easy to get to and good parking. Food was good but the service was a little slow. It took nearly 40 minutes for my main course to arrive that I had to chase up with staff and didn’t get an apology about it being late. My room was also really noisy even though I had the air-conditioner turned off. It sounded like the condenser was right above my room (420) on the roof and it kept me awake most of the night. I also didn’t find the bed particularly comfortable and woke up with a really bad back. I think it was just too soft. Not sure if stay again because of this.

The staff at the hotel couldn't have been more accommodating, special mention for all the grill restaurant staff, they were very helpful especially with our two young kids, they done everything they could to make them happy. Bery much appreciated. We did not encounter any member if the hotel staff who was not pleasant, funny and willing to go above and beyond to assist. Our new priority hotel for staying in Glasgow from now on.

Guys this is the first time I have been disappointed with a village hotel. Basically it was because of lack of staff. Dinner was so slow and the team got things wrong with other peoples orders. ... Same at breakfast..no one there to check me in for breakfast. I hope this was a one off and not a corporate decision made by the new owners of the hotel chain

We ordered some food and drinks and were chastised for not having the app to qualify for the deal advertised. The team called me earlier in the day to check I was on track to arrive in the evening. I confirmed I was - I had prepaid almost £200. When I arrived, there was a long queue at the check in, only to be told when I got to the front they were overbooked and my booking had been transferred to the Hilton. Overbooking with prepayment is not acceptable nor is calling me early but not letting me know what the problem was. The Hilton was decent and the staff were great but I would not recommend the village based on this experience.

The stay from start to finish was great!! Very comfortable room, lots of hot water, spacious and clean. The gym was great with a nice sized pool and great equipment. We had breakfast each morning which was a small buffet but had everything you needed. The staff were warm, friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend Village hotel Glasgow

Arrived at the property at 7pm with a 35 minute window before the start time of our event to drop bags check in and leave, only to be informed the hotel had overbooked and they didn’t have a room. They proposed sending us to the courtyard Marriott instead. This should have been informed sooner, missed chance to eat dinner and this was a downgrade, as we booked specifically for the facilities at the village. Spoke to Jamie the GM, thankfully as well as sorting us the new hotel, also agreed to refund the cost of the original booking and got the kitchen to sort a couple of takeaway burgers within a 10 minute turnaround. Burgers were great and overall this was a great example of doing the right thing for the customer, by listening to what would make it right and which has turned a 1* review into 5* customer service. Immediately around the hotel feels fine but not able to rate Govan higher than 3* with a straight face.

Booked a stay while there was a function on. Hotel staff think its acceptable to have mudic blaring until 1am when other people are trying to rest and cant do because of the music. Was offered to move room but then receptionist Leanne was extremely rude to me and instisted on arguing with me that i should expect that level of noise in a busy hotel and tried to gaslight me into thinking i was being unreasonable by complaining. Even after i said that i did not want to argue and please could she proceed to change my room as promised, she just continued to argue with me. Completely inappropriate and zero customer service. I changed room which helped with the noise but the shower didnt work and the toilet didnt flush. Waited over an hour for room service. Wont be staying again.

Lovely clean hotel, a little way outside of the city centre (2.5 miles), but ideal for SEC / Hydro / BBC Scotland etc. Really friendly staff, great facilities in the gym & pool. We ate in the restaurant on Friday night, food was "ok" - we knew it wasn't going to be gourmet, but was tasty, hot and quickly served. Would definitely stay at this hotel again, should I be back in the Glasgow area.

Great hotel that we have used for multiple trips to Glasgow, great to have lots of options on site: food, drink, pool and gym (all are great). Great location if staying for concerts held across the river and only a short walk to the pedestrian bridge to get there. Have always felt safe staying in the area and very walkable to the multiple shopping areas though it is a good 20 minute walk into the main centre (though plenty of transport options also). Will definitely use again when visiting Glasgow 😊

Clean room, except dirty stain on carpet (room 313). Gentlemen on reception was very friendly and checked us in early. Disappointed with the food in bar as for £53 we felt dissatisfied. Potato skins were rock solid and fish was soggy and tasteless. No staff came to check on us to see if we were okay and bar was swamped so couldn’t pass on concerns.

Service very poor and started to clear away just before 9:30am (when breakfast ends) despite guests being in restaurant and trying to dish up food still. This was the reason I would recommend staying elsewhere as £25 for a toddler and 2 adults breakfast, when you can’t eat it is not ideal! Hotel refused to refund breakfast when requested and explained. Thanks to hotels.com for providing a refund in kind. Tbh I’d go to a hotel nearby in future!
