Plentiful free parking on-site. This place is a good restaurant/bar, with 8 rooms as an afterthought. The room was basic, with lots of stairs for access. The heating worked, and the window was openable. Bed was ok, not first rate. The bathroom was poor, with the anti-theft soap/shampoo holders malfunctioning and requiring two hands to operate. The shower was a basic tiny rounded refit unit, with doors barely on the tracks and a showerhead that wouldn't stay on the holder. The half step in front of the shower was a good trip hazard. A touch of mould on the shower and bathroom window completed the experience. Nowhere to place suitcases in the room. The sliding closet doors were off the tracks, and they and the shower doors were loud and thumping.. audible between floors. No WiFi on the upper floors, but a faint signal did sometimes waft up from the ground floor bar. The mini-fridge was iced up and in need of defrost. So.. rough room facilities, nowhere near the level of luxury advertised. Staff were great though, as was the food downstairs and the parking.

Loved my stay at Ferryhill House. The staff was lovely, and the pub restaurant was great. Loved having a drink outside on their patio. I hadn’t realized breakfast was included which was a nice surprise. My room was clean and spacious, the bathroom was especially nice and up-to-date. I walked back to the hotel after dark from the bus station solo and felt perfectly safe. Just a note: It is an older hotel and there isn’t an elevator. I was up one flight of stairs but I probably wouldn’t have wanted to be on the third floor with heavy luggage.

Great breakfast. Extremely friendly staff especially Adam who shared recommendations where to eat. Fridge in room. The bar and restaurant were always busy and so nice to have available to enjoy dinner or a drink.

This was an outstanding small hotel in a beautiful part of Aberdeen. The hotel provided a lovely hot breakfast included in their very affordable rates. This was one of our nicest stays in our Scottish tour. There is a busy outdoor patio in the summer but all was quiet by 10:30 pm. Duthie Park was a short walk away with its must see botanical and tropical indoor gardens.

The property is in a residential area, on a street that is not real busy. The check-in was quick and easy. The room was large by European standards. The restaurant is pretty good, the bar is excellent. Breakfast very good, with lots of options. The staff are all willing and eager to help and solve any issues. The carpets throughout needs to be replaced. Otherwise, an excellent hotel for the money.

Lovely clean hotel. Very friendly staff, throughout our stay. The room was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfy. We booked a table in the bar for 6pm and we had the haggis bon bons and the prawn and avocado cocktail. They were absolutely lovely. Then our main meal was aberdeen angus burger with skin on chips and onion rings. Best burger every, highly recommend. I had the fillet steak, but i didnt want chips, so i asked if i could have veg and potatoes, that was not a problem, it was the best meal i have had for ages. We would highly recommend the ferryhill for food and accommodation. There was just one tiny thing wrong the shower wasnt hot mainly cold than warm .

Booked in for a Saturday night. Staff all friendly and helpful, clean and cosy room, lovely bathroom, good breakfast selection. Hot water took a little while to come through in the shower but was nice and toasty when it got there. Parking great and no extra charge. Convenient location for walking into the city centre as well as driving in and out of town. Excellent value for money.

Nice location and was easy to find. The food in the pub was plentiful and good. Staff were great. Our room was on the very top floor which had a nice view. The room we found a bit stuffy and we were not able to fully open the window for fresh air. The room itself is carpeted and shows signs of stains.

Room was OK. Negative points - room tired in places, Plastic garden chair was a surprise and it was also damaged. Carpet had a iron burn and side unit glass top was cracked. Positive points ~ room was warm and bed comfortable. Ensuite was spacious, modern and clean. We have decent kettle and fridge.

The room is specious. The hotel is well located near city centre and within walking distance. The wifi service is unfortunately very slow. Breakfast is sumptuous and the staff are very friendly.

The only reason I did not give a 5 star review was a few things that prevented me from having a great stay. 1: The bar remains open till 10 pm and I was in a room (#2) right above it. The music and patrons was noisy enough that I could not sleep. 2: The outdoor floodlights stay in till 10:30 pm causing the room to light up brightly even with curtains closed. 3: The mattress needs to be changed as it was lumpy and felt very worn. The staff did their best to do what they could but were limited due to some above the above could not be addressed by them. The food including the breakfast was very good. I suggest if you book here and prefer to go to bed prior to 10:30 pm, ask for a room that is not above the bar.

Ferryhill House is more of a pub/restaurant with rooms, than a hotel. Arriving mid-evening on a Sat, the bar was reasonably busy with a good atmosphere, but no obvious area for checking in. Staff were friendly though, and we were directed to a 2nd floor/attic room for our 1-night stay. It was clean, warm and nicely decorated. Its an old building, but we felt the uneven floor and irregular shaped door were a bit weird, rather than providing character. Bathroom was really small, with exceptionally low ceiling inside the shower cubicle. A few minor issues that could easily be addressed ie basin plug not attached, broken picture frame, toiletries in bottles that are too small for the dispensers (need to lift bottle for pump to work). Saw a first floor room in passing which looked better. Unfortunately were very disappointed by breakfast. Sat for at least 10mins before even being acknowledged and given a menu, so perhaps more staff are needed, or at least make some of the offering buffet-style. Food, when served (best part of an hour after sitting down) wasn't great. Full breakfast not very warm, missing items, and the worst hollandaise I've ever had on the eggs benedict.

The stay at the Ferryhill House was excellent. The room was big enough for 2. The bed comfortable. The pillows were a bit too soft for me, but maybe ok for others... The shower was perfect. The lighting in the bathroom could have been a bit brighter still was ok for us. The food at the Hotel was good too. Definitely would stay here again and recomment it to others.

It's not in city centre, which was fine for me. It was not far out and if I'd had more time, I had hoped to explore a bit more. Give yourself a couple of days in Aberdeen. I ate in the restaurant and it was very good. I had a "small" ploughman's platter which was very large and tasty and it included a Scotch egg, meat, cheeses, pearl onions, and a lovely chutney. For the main it was a beef pie with a puff pastry on top; veggies, and chips on the side. I was solo but there was abundant food for two! They also had a nice cask ale. The breakfast the next morning was also good, cooked to order. I opted for the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with toast. The staff was very nice, friendly.

For the main it was a beef pie with a puff pastry on top; veggies, and chips on the side. I was solo but there was abundant food for two! They also had a nice cask ale. The breakfast the next morning was also good, cooked to order. I opted for the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with toast. The staff was very nice, friendly.

Loved my stay at Ferryhill House. The staff was lovely, and the pub restaurant was great. Loved having a drink outside on their patio. I hadn’t realized breakfast was included which was a nice surprise. My room was clean and spacious, the bathroom was especially nice and up-to-date. I walked back to the hotel after dark from the bus station solo and felt perfectly safe. Just a note: It is an older hotel and there isn’t an elevator. I was up one flight of stairs but I probably wouldn’t have wanted to be on the third floor with heavy luggage.

Booked in for a Saturday night. Staff all friendly and helpful, clean and cosy room, lovely bathroom, good breakfast selection. Hot water took a little while to come through in the shower but was nice and toasty when it got there. Parking great and no extra charge. Convenient location for walking into the city centre as well as driving in and out of town. Excellent value for money.

We had a wonderful visit at Ferryhill House Hotel. It’s a lovely building - airy and spacious with friendly staff and the advantage of a restaurant downstairs. Not far from the city centre and very reasonably priced for Aberdeen.

Lovely clean hotel. Very friendly staff, throughout our stay. The room was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfy. We booked a table in the bar for 6pm and we had the haggis bon bons and the prawn and avocado cocktail. They were absolutely lovely. Then our main meal was aberdeen angus burger with skin on chips and onion rings. Best burger every, highly recommend. I had the fillet steak, but i didnt want chips, so i asked if i could have veg and potatoes, that was not a problem, it was the best meal i have had for ages. We would highly recommend the ferryhill for food and accommodation. There was just one tiny thing wrong the shower wasnt hot mainly cold than warm .

Ferryhill House is more of a pub/restaurant with rooms, than a hotel. Arriving mid-evening on a Sat, the bar was reasonably busy with a good atmosphere, but no obvious area for checking in. Staff were friendly though, and we were directed to a 2nd floor/attic room for our 1-night stay. It was clean, warm and nicely decorated. Its an old building, but we felt the uneven floor and irregular shaped door were a bit weird, rather than providing character. Bathroom was really small, with exceptionally low ceiling inside the shower cubicle. A few minor issues that could easily be addressed ie basin plug not attached, broken picture frame, toiletries in bottles that are too small for the dispensers (need to lift bottle for pump to work). Saw a first floor room in passing which looked better. Unfortunately were very disappointed by breakfast. Sat for at least 10mins before even being acknowledged and given a menu, so perhaps more staff are needed, or at least make some of the offering buffet-style. Food, when served (best part of an hour after sitting down) wasn't great. Full breakfast not very warm, missing items, and the worst hollandaise I've ever had on the eggs benedict.

Quite simply the Ferryhill House is just a lovely place for a stay, with friendly staff, good food, exceptionally comfortable, good sized, rooms. It has such a welcoming vibe. Turn up and leave the car in the car park for the weekend, as a very close bus stop can whisk you into town. Relax with lovely food and a great wine/beer/spirit selection. We've been before and we'll be back again. And a final word for the amazing breakfasts!

This was a fantastic place. It was gorgeous, the staff were all friendly and helpful, there were lovely amenities, the rain shower was wonderful after a long day walking around, the night was comfortable, and the breakfast was so tasty. If I'm able to return to Aberdeen, this is where I'm staying.

Absolutely gorgeous 5 star interior — the most beautiful room on our 7 week holiday, of all the places we’ve stayed! Obviously a neighbourhood spot for locals (bar/ restaurant on main floor) which created a bit of a problem the first night we stayed… a few loud lads who wouldn’t leave the outdoor patio until the police were called. Hats off to the overnight staff, they handled them professionally before resorting to calling the police. Second night we slept no problem. Only “knock” was food in the restaurant, overpriced pub food… seafood risotto was almost inedible. We had four meals over our stay and two were a waste of money. Bartenders are pro though and the management seems excellent and would absolutely stay here again.

Excellent food at the evening meal and breakfast, good menu choices and so flavoursome. On site free parking. Room was OK the bathroom could have been laid out better and have frosted windows instead of clear ones which are overlooked by houses. Good central location, staff very helpful.
