We were really disappointed with our stay here, especially considering the price (over $400 a night). Right from the start, the staff was not welcoming and we were given the wrong room key and accidentally walked into a room that was already occupied. The hotel itself feels very worn down and in need of updates. The pool area had broken chairs and a constantly wet floor, making it feel neglected. The ice machines on our floor didn’t work, and the lobby had several broken features that gave the whole place a run-down look. What made it more frustrating is that the hotel looks nothing like the photos online. For the price, we expected a much higher standard. Unfortunately, this stay did not meet expectations at all.

The pool area is not open to the patrons all day. It opens in the morning, closes from 5 hours and the reopening at 5:30pm. Staff was 15 minutes late to open. The hot tub was not working. I stepped on medal cover which was off, and the whole exposed. The steam room was not steamy or hot, tiles on the seating area were coming off, them on them as I was walking in, the sauna room as well was not in working conditions.

We had booked a parking space but, at check-in, there were so many parked cars, I could hardly find a spot to leave the car. Much worse, it took 55 minutes to retrieve the car at check-put.?We had been told to call 30 minutes before pickup, however when we called we were told the car had been moved offsite to a location that would take much longer to retrieve.!

I stayed at this hotel for one day, and unfortunately, my experience with the valet service was extremely disappointing. There was only one person handling all the cars, which resulted in a significant delay — it felt like it took forever to retrieve my vehicle. Ultimately, I had to catch an Uber because they couldn’t get my car in time, and I was already running late. I ended up leaving my car at the hotel overnight because they were unable to bring it out when I needed it. Additionally, I never received the welcome message or text needed to access the app to request my car, which added to the frustration. To make matters worse, the valet staff was rude and unhelpful throughout the entire process. This experience was unacceptable and left a very negative impression of the hotel’s service.

While I was there, the elevator was broken so that meant an extensive wait time to get on an elevator to go up the next morning. I left out and came back in. My bed was still not made. I had to ask someone to fix it. And then it was not even fixed. Properly . I had to wait hours for them to bring me towels like literally there was two towels in the room, and I asked for extra towel it took forever for me to get a towel. The coffee maker was filthy. they would not even give me a bottle of water. Definitely a horrible time. you can smell that the carpet needed to be shampooed. The furniture in the room was just so raggedy. I would never go back there again.

Sheets and towels had been replaced and that’s about where the cleaning stopped. Hotel is rundown and filthy—more roadside motel style but in a building in downtown Brooklyn. The walls were stained, the doors were covered in greasy fingerprints, the carpet was dirtier than the New York sidewalk and had a smell. Had to wipe down my nightstand and desk with my own Clorox wipes. Found four different types of hair not belonging to me. To add insult to injury, housekeeping was in the room next to mine gossiping and shouting to the top of their lungs for over an hour at 9am and I had to call twice to have someone deal with them. Maybe more actual cleaning and less socializing. Also remodel or just demolish like the rest of downtown. Would not stay again for free.

Friendly and courteous front desk staff. Hotel conveniently located near several subway stations is a big plus and restaurants too but Housekeeping needs a lot of improvement. Lack of towels, wash cloths, asking for soap, toliet paper the basics should have been covered.

The washcloths were terrible. They were actually ripping the Manager had to bring them up to me after I asked twice the shower water pressure was very poor. The service there is poor. It has changed tremendously.

Hotel price did not match the facility or condition of hotel. Carpet in the halls and rooms were filthy and smelled. Room was small and needs updating. The front desk did not have change so you had to use your card for any small purchases from the mini mart, which was limited. I was unable to add the breakfast package after booking. If you're looking for one night stay this is fine but I don't think I would book at this location again in the future.

The room was small and the fixtures felt out of date/worn down. We were on a low floor with no view and a rooftop directly outside of the window which did not feel safe or private, kept the curtains closed the whole time, but even those didn’t fit over the AC unit. Felt overpriced given other options in the area.

Rooms were in bad condition, carpets were dirty and need replacing, furniture is very worn. Our particularly room was close to the two (slow) elevators that we could hear squeaking throughout the night. Appears like it was decent at one point but has let itself go. Area is very convenient but there are many hotels nearby that I wished we would have booked instead.

High floor room I was in was too small for the price paid. There was no breakfast and a breakfast package was paid for. I had to lift The microwave and move it to the desk in order to plug it in. The staff was nice.

There is a subway line underneath the hotel. Our room rattled and shook every few minutes through the night. The staff acknowledged the problem but they were not able to find a better room, so we checked out after the first night to find a better hotel.

The waiters for the restaurant were very rude. I also asked for my room to be cleaned when I left the room at 12. When I came back after 4, nothing was done. The cleaner eventually came but she also came with a slight attitude. Waiting for her made me late to my dinner. The check in and check out process was nice.

Manager and some staff was not co operative, though night shift staff was good and the pool instructor was nice , i would not blame all the staff but day manager was the worst experience we had at holiday in , she was extremely rude and not understanding, we had a child with us and she didnt assist at all to get early checkinn though we were paying for it , we had a terrible experience with her , wont recommend anyone at this location unless the lady manager is qualified enough to lead this location

Lack of communication between the front desk and cleaning staff. The cleaning staff assumed I’d checked out and removed ALL of my belongings. I still have no word on what happened to my things. No resolution provided and front desk could care less, even though they were the cause of the confusion. I also had to pay a deposit every time I decided to extend my stay. After the 3rd day we moved to the Aloft Hotel for the remainder for our stay in Brooklyn because the Holiday Inn was just poor service all around.

All the plugs were loose or inoperative. The chair and desk were in very bad shape, the reading light would not snap into place to shut off. We had to unplug it from the wall. Our room was quiet and was clean. We were charged $150 on our credit card after checking out for no known reason, no prior notice, or communication. Multiple attempts to contact the property directly have been unsuccessful due to AI. Unless you want to spend an hour on the phone with your bank, I would not take the chance of staying here.

The location is convenient and accessible to local shops and public transportation. Our room is super clean and bed is comfortable to sleep in. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Lucky, we were able to check in early. I hesitated to ask if there is an available microwave to warm our food but I will do that next time. At night, you can hear a lot of noise but it is manageable.

The room was perfect for me . Very clean and comfy. Had a lil wet carpet smell , but overall I liked it . I didn’t like the loudness of the other guests rooms when they were closing their doors . They slammed it so hard it literally scared me out my sleep . I didn’t have any good there . Most of all I love love love how the front desk staff greeted me and checked me in . They were all super pleasant , friendly , courteous and helpful . I would stay there again

We booked the hotel due to its proximity to the Barclays Centre. The room was quite spacious and the beds were comfortable. The attached restaurant’s food was ok. The area has many subway stations close by. A few homeless people were hanging around, but the area seems relatively safe.

The hotel restaurant had a sign on the front door saying it was shut down by New York City health and human services. That speaks volume for my experience, it was very poor. I regret staying at this hotel. The hotel was very old, the AC made my wife’s very sick every night.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Brooklyn Downtown for 8 days. While there were positive aspects, our overall experience wasn’t good enough to return. The good: • Reception and housekeeping were great – friendly, helpful, and professional. • The mini fridge and TV worked well. • The pool looked clean and well-kept, though we didn’t use it. • The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was in good condition. The not-so-good: • The room looked very worn. The armchair, for example, was in terrible shape (photo attached). • Several power outlets didn’t work – not a dealbreaker, but annoying. • One night we were woken by loud arguing and door slamming in the hallway that lasted over an hour. Nighttime noise happened more than once. • Breakfast is served in the adjacent restaurant. While the food was fine, the manager (Rego) was unhelpful and unfriendly. We’ve reviewed the restaurant separately, but it was one of the reasons we wouldn’t come back. Despite some good service and a decent location, the combination of worn-out rooms and poor management in the restaurant left a negative impression. This hotel needs investment and leadership improvement.

As other reviewers have mentioned the Holiday Inn downtown Brooklyn is tired & in need of refurbishment However it’s clean & in a convenient location with a subway station very near that will get you pretty much anywhere you want to be, it’s also handy for a quick transfer from JFK using the airtrain & LIRR with only a short walk from the station, note … if you get the breakfast package it’s not a buffet but the attached south/western / Mexican restaurant provides diner style food from a large menu, the food is very good but as you have to sign the check against your room # they expect a tip against the amount which was $40 for 2 ….. so just be aware that the breakfast is going to cost you something in tips ,also worth mentioning is the ongoing building work right across the road which look to be a lengthy job , they start early & make plenty of noise so avoid front facing rooms ,would I stay again? I would certainly look around as definitely better available but for the convenience if it was cheap maybe

The hotel is located in a nice part of town and is appealing from the street view. Valet parking was easy, affordable, and staffed by nice and friendly individuals! The lobby of the hotel was inviting and clean. Because of only two elevators in a 14 floor building, wait times were a little long at times the elevators the hallways are clean and well lit. I slept like a baby in one of the most comfortable beds. Nice clean sheets, pillowcases, and comforter! While the rooms are on the smaller side, they are well situated and plenty of space is provided. The cleaning staff does a great job and are very responsive. The supervisor of the cleaning staff on duty during our stay was super nice and knowledgeable. We had an issue with our room key and she was able to solve it in no time. I did appreciate the front desk gentleman also coming to the 10th floor with a replacement key. We enjoyed our two night stay and would return even though we didn’t have a great experience checking in. That was the only downside to our entire three days in Brooklyn. While the front desk was friendly and allowed us to stage our luggage there until 3 o’clock check-in and allowed us to check in an hour early into one of our two rooms, the second room was promised to be ready for us at 3 PM. After making several trips up and down 10 floors, to check on the room, our 2nd room was made available approximately at 5:00/5:30P.M. All in all, I would still recommend the Brooklyn Holiday Inn! and hotels.com👍

I've stayed here many times for business trips. Excellent hotel. The only drawback is the long wait times for the elevator. You could push the button, go to the bar next door and come back and still be waiting. If not carrying luggage, just use the stairs.

I was told I would be able to get early check-in, and when I got there, they told me I was not permitted. They told me to check that hourly and I sat there for three hours in the room was ready by the second hour and nobody said anything to me. It was extremely rude. In the morning, they don’t change out the towels or make bed or anything. When I ask for fresh towels, I was only given one and I was there for 2 nights (3 days). Overall, he probably would not work again. They did not have a good experience here.
