Stayed 5 nights

My stay had a few positives, but overall I wouldn't choose to stay here again. When I arrived for check-in, the front desk was unattended, and I had to wait nearly an hour before someone arrived to check me in. I stayed in both a standard room and one of the bungalows. The bungalow was spacious, but unfortunately the property felt old and run-down. The biggest issue was the cleanliness and maintenance. During my stay in the bungalow, I found cockroaches in the bathroom at night, and even after asking staff to spray the bathroom, I continued to find dead ants and other insects over the following days. If you're a light sleeper, I wouldn't recommend staying here. Heavy rain on the tin roof made it very difficult to sleep, and the nearby restaurant was noisy well into the evening. One highlight was the included breakfast at Bamboo Restaurant—it was excellent every morning, and I'd absolutely recommend eating there even if you don't stay at the property. The location is another downside. It's quite far from downtown La Fortuna and definitely not walkable. Unless you've rented a car, expect to rely on Ubers or taxis along a bumpy dirt road to get anywhere. Overall, the spacious bungalow and excellent breakfast weren't enough to make up for the maintenance issues, noise, and inconvenient location.

Breakfast was very tasty . Loved the flavorful black bean rice there ( gala pinto ) and fresh juice and veggies . Rooms were clean and the towel animals /art was very nice . Entry to the hotel is a gravel road with potholes . Need to be careful driving . Driveway not paved . But overall we had a nice experience and easy access to main La Fortuna downtown that had lots of of restaurants and other stores .

They were very nice and helpful, but the building itself was slapshod. It looked worn and was built by someone who was not a carpenter. They charged more than a much nicer motel we had stayed in just the day before. The breakfast was great, and the people were very nice.
