This hotel is a great value for the money in downtown Chicago. It is updated and very clean. Free breakfast was wonderful. Parking was confusing even with the directions from the front desk person. She tried to explain the best place to park with the best price, but she didn't give us accurate directions. We used the valet and paid the price, but it is Chicago and you should expect to pay a lot. After check out, they do keep your bags so you can go out and enjoy Chicago. This was a nice because our flight didn't leave until 7pm. I would stay here again and recommend it to friends!

Roanoke restaurant attached to hotel was perfect. The suite gave us extra room for our kids to come upstairs and visit. The parking was hard to find. Ended up self parking for $60 vs valet for $56 tips

The only issue we had was parking was included on our rate and we did not request parking- wish we could have had the rate adjusted as parking was $72 per day!!!!!

The positive: Near all CTA L lines and bus access. Walking distance to Millennium Park and Sears Tower. Great place to stay if you’re in town on business. The Negative: Parking is nonexistent. They have valet service but you’re going to pay over $70/night. Not really a great place to bring children. They have no amenities to entertain them.

Hotel was very clean and the staff friendly and courteous. Breakfast had great options. Room was very comfortable for my family of 3. Location was great as it was within walking distance to the train and many top attractions. Would love to come back!

I found old contacts in the bed sheets that made me question cleanliness of the hotel. The staff was mostly pleasent but definitely not super friendly or excited to be working there. This was different than other Marriott properties I have stayed at. bellhop was very nice though.

Our first room had a cup with lipstick on it left in the cabinet. The lower cabinet doors were broken and every bed cover had visible stains. The sofa had water stains and patches of discoloration. The walls had stainsand when I used Lysol wipes to clean, the color was black. Although the second room was better, the cover for the sofa bed had burnt stains. The cushions on the sofa where also stained and the walls in the bathroom where discolored.. the tub had to be cleaned and the carpets in the halls where awful. There were some front desk staff that were courteous we appreciated the support when we made complaints. The system was down three times on our two day stay, so the reimbursement for parking had to happens after the trip. Outside, the smell from the unfortunate unhoused caused the transition in and out of the hotel to be unbearable. The staff in the kitchen were quite nice and food was decent. It is nothing like the pics.

The room was great, had a small kitchenet and plenty of sleeping areas for the number of people we had. The only thing is that we could not figure out how to turn on the reading lights (or maybe they were not working) and the sofa bed had one side of the frame broken so it was uneven when we unfold it. I forgot to mentioned these items to the front desk thought. They gave us a discount for the parking which is around the corner.

Cute room! Plenty of space for 2 of us. The room could have been dusted better and cob webs removed. The bed was a king but the bedsheet was a medium and barely fit on it. Kept coming off.

Stayed for two nights. The frontdoor of the hotel is small so can be hard to find. The room is suite-style and it has a kitchen with multiple cookwares, although there are many resturants around and I doubt anyone will really cook during the stay. The room is not super spacious but larger enough for being comfortable. The wall is relatively soundproof, that the noise is mostly from outside rather than your neighbors. Due to the narrow street of Chicago you won't have much view from your window, but some rooms, including mine, can see the Willis Tower. The location of the hotel is great, as it's in the center of the downtown. I used to think Chicago is dangerous, but at least around the hotel, I did feel pretty safe even at the night. Free breakfast is offered, and despite being the continental breakfast that you can see anywhere else, the quality is good and there are some variation from day to day. Didn't use other facilities so cannot comment.

My only disappointment, so far, is the very poor tv reception. Unsure if it’s the tv itself or signal. The room itself is truly exceptional. Looking forward to the provided breakfast tomorrow.

This hotel was in a great location, but service was not amazing. I pulled up to the valet with a car full of luggage and three children, and not one person offered to help me. I had to take all of my heavy ass luggage out, and it wasn’t until the bellhop saw me struggling that he came out to help me with one and open the door for me. I asked if there was a bellhop that could help me get the luggage to the room and they acted like it was a huge inconvenience to do that. I had to approach the Valet man standing inside and ASKED if they took valet because nobody was showing up to take my car. When I was leaving, I called down to request help with my luggage, and the man seemed incredibly annoyed that he had to help even though I’m a good tipper. I just am floored by the lack of customer service at such a beautiful hotel. The man who retrieved my car, every day was amazing. And housekeeping cut the room absolutely beautiful and smelling fresh.

Was a great stay, staff not very flexible. Asked for a late Checkout was quickly told no, and gentleman downstairs told me I couldn’t use the entrance door on his side of the room as it made him cold. Otherwise awesome stay, breakfast is very well done with many options and hot food as well. Only a 12 minute walk from Amtrak Union Station.

This was our second stay at this particular location. We like the location and the walkability of the area. During our recent stay, we had a blunder with valet. Long story short, we drove off without the key and didn't notice until we were on the other side of the city, when it was time to restart the car. We called the hotel, and the valet came to our location with the keys. That was awesome. I thought we would have to catch an Uber to get the key and an Uber back to the car. So, nothing but high praises to the staff at the Residence Inn.

The staff were amazing. We flew in and got there way before check in. However the young lady allowed us to check in early and upgraded our room. Upon departure Steve Carter at the front desk was very courteous and wished us safe travels home. I will definitely recommend this hotel.

Fantastic breakfast, great location, and big rooms at a great price. Halfway between Navy Pier and the museums. It was an easy walk to Michigan Ave and shopping. It was a bit off the main path - but the price made up for it! Breakfast was perfect!

Great location! Walkable to all the Christmas/Holiday festivities and easily accessible to trains and buses. It was only one block from the train we took from the airport. The room was clean, the elevators were quick, breakfast was good, and the staff was so nice. Will definitely book again for our next Chicago trip.

The hotel itself and the room was very nice and super clean. The bed was comfy and the room was updated and trendy. Staff very friendly throughout. Location is very convenient to walk to the theatre district. The restaurant in the building, Roanoke, was delicious. We sat at the bar for happy hour and the drinks and bartender were top notch. Food was amazing and the servings were very generous. The only complaint we had if we had to have one..is that the breakfast items we had were no longer warm and the coffee was lukewarm. Other than that the hotel was very beautiful and well kept.
