We picked this hotel specifically for the facilities but it fell short of what we were expecting. The jacuzzi was out of order for the duration of our stay. The sauna and steam rooms were not hot. The swimming pool was cold. The plunge pool was out of order. Although the room was fully paid for prior to arriving, £80 was taken from my card on arrival which we were told was a holding fee incase we used any extras?? This was not mentioned anywhere prior to booking and the fee will now take 5 days to appear back in my account. We won't be staying at the Hyatt again. Other people were complaining about the same issues.

Lovely two days away with my hubby the pool was cold and my mattress wasn’t the best I felt like I was slipping down the bed we stayed in room 1112 I found the drinks expensive in the hotel so we ate and drunk out but other wise everything is was good oh yeh they didn’t leave robes in our room I had to go and asked for them when I was in the spa reception.

The arrival and check-in process was appalling. I have stayed in many hotels and the check-in experience at Hyatt Regency Birmingham ranks among the worst for professionalism, manners and courtesy. Customer service training and monitoring are needed for the hotel management. The room, when it was eventually provided, was comfortable and spacious and there was minimal noise or disturbance. We made a conscious decision not to spend time in the hotel, due entirely to the check-in experience. Beware the ridiculous policy prohibiting under 12s from the pool. This is not clearly stated at the time of booking; the hotel staff had to search their own smallprint to show that it was even there. “Children over 12 years can access the pool” is not the same as “we prohibit children under the age of 12”.

Staff were really friendly. We ordered breakfast in bed which was lovely - they forgot the danish pastry on the order but it was so filling in the end it wasn’t needed anyway. Lights above bed could do with a dust as there is a thick layer but everywhere you’d actually touch was very clean. Super super comfy beds and effective heating/ air conditioning. No guarantees on the spa being relaxing - when we came today, unfortunately there was a screaming kid playing and running around. When you book somewhere specifically for the spa pool (to feel relaxed), screaming kids aren’t ideal (sorry!). It was quite noisy at night on the weekend but as our room faced broad street this was to be expected so we did fall asleep after a while. Chromecast/ WiFi was great and worked. Happily would come back - the staff are so friendly.

A great hotel in a perfect location. The pool and spa area are lovely and clean. The rooms are large and very quiet and comfortable. A great location to get everywhere. Lots of cafes and restaurants within a 5/10 min walk. Would definitely recommend.

Fabulous location minutes from the city centre shops and local restaurants. On entry, reception desk location is easy to miss as its in a corner snd not easy to see from the entrance. We had to ask reception to increase the heating as we were unable to adjust within the room. Need to do a bit more work with housekeeping, dropped a ring on the floor and had to move th bed, which highlighted that the space underneath hadnt been cleaned in a while. The room is spacious and beds comfortable. Reception staff friendly and professional.

Was disappointed on arrival that the pool closed at 5pm, I arrived at 4.50pm. Appreciate a spa may close this early. Was genuinely looking forward to chilling in your pool before a relaxing evening. Having booked a high level floor for the view I was disappoint by how dirty the glass was. This really took away from the experience as the view from the room over the Rep and fountains is generally a lovely one. Bedroom was lovely. Bed clean a very comfortable, and great to see stocked with toiletries and bath robes.

The property seems to have gone down hill since we last stayed. So for example the carpet had stains in our room, the pool had dead skin on the sides as we walked down the stairs into the water and for some reason there was bits of tissue in the pool too not sure where that was coming from as it was on my skin as I came out of the pool twice.

Amazing experience from start to finish. Concierge was a great help with parking, front desk staff very welcoming and attentive. Upgraded room was a lovely touch. Room was spotlessly clean, beautiful lobby and bar too. Overall couldn’t fault our experience.

Rooms very lovely and spacious and very clean although misleading about the canal view. Room service was quite reasonable for breakfast and tasty. Swimming pool, sauna etc.. was very nice and staff member was very helpful and friendly at the spa reception, lovely to have the robes and towels provided. Everything was walkable with everything on our doorstep. Lobby and bar area are quite stunning and lovely to relax in. We felt very safe and any questions we had were answered in a professional manner.

It’s an ok stay if you want to be in central Birmingham, I travel a lot and the rooms are a little dated now for quite an expensive hotel. The veneer is coming of off surfaces, could do with a splash of colour. Great restaurants around this location.

I didn’t enjoy my stay. The bathrooms were awful. I really hated them. The shower was in bath and the tap for using them and way they were set up are awful. The worst I’ve ever used. Then I couldn’t link my phone up to the television meaning I couldn’t watch anything or listen to music. I really didn’t enjoy my stay because of this. It’s a shame as the staff were good

The room was a bit dated lots of scratches on the furniture, but other than that the hotel was exceptional the breakfast was outstanding and the Hyatt lounge, all though smaller than expected was nice and very comfortable, the staff was also super friendly and helpful.

It's a good hotel but it didnt feel like I was staying in luxury. First world problems i know but creaking bedroom door, great shower but a bit of a challenge to turn on, air con not available during winter months so the room was much hotter than i would have liked. Big rooms though and great location

staff seem clueless with their own facilities. we rang ahead as advised to enquire about parking, we’re told the hotel car park was full but to use the Mailbox and that they could discount our ticket on arrival. when we arrived, we showed our parking ticket and a different member of staff told me their ticket machine was removed 2 weeks ago, they no longer offer discount (although this is advertised online and still on their tvs within the hotel rooms). when checking out a 3rd member of staff told us discount was available and that we needed to prebook with a code a member of staff should have gave us. complete mess in terms of information; we left paying full price for parking.

This was a good stay however checking in being at 3 o’clock we arrived at 4:10 to be told that our room was not ready and that we would have to wait. it took us over half an hour to gain access to our room which we thought was poor however they did provide us with breakfast for free so good at the end.

Second stay at this hotel, which is clean, comfortable and has great gym facilities. Friendly welcome on arrival. Unfortunately we did have an issue this time when ordering room service. After waiting over an hour for the food to arrive, we rang the room service number and were told that because we hadn’t answered the door when staff tried to deliver the food, the order was cancelled. Staff couldn’t say whether we would still be charged. We contacted reception who arranged for the food to still be sent up, and the staff member who then brought the delivery told us that she had been knocking on the wrong door previously - so actually not our fault but our order had still been cancelled and we had been told off for not answering the door. No apology from reception, reported to management via the ‘how was your first night’ email from hotels.com and no response to that either.

Absolutely fantastic stay from start to finish. Gabriela on reception made our trip super special in her attitude towards us. Friendly, professional and extremely welcoming. She is a total gem, Hyatt hotels, hold on to her! Solely based on our interactions with her I have recommended your hotel to many of my friends and family, several are planning to visit Birmingham and stay with yourselves. Thank you Gabriela!!!! I was travelling with my 12 year old daughter for our first special night away (3 older brothers were left at home) and she didn't want to leave the hotel and has already made me promise to bring her back. Our room was amazing, plenty of space, and spotlessly clean! We paid extra to have access to the club room and it was well worth it. The atmosphere in the hotel was so relaxing and inviting. Breakfast was fresh and gorgeous. The doorman (unfortunately I didn't get his name but know he has been there well over 12 years) was so friendly. The girl (again didn't get her name) in the spa was lovely. Thank you to all, we will definitely be back sooner rather than later. Would and have highly recommended your hotel to everyone!

We were there overnight for a concert in the Symphony Hall which is accessible by an enclosed bridge making it very convenient. All the staff were fantastic and went out of their way to accommodate our every need. Take every possible precaution for food allergies.

We booked a club room, the room was clean, but outdated and needed refurbishment. Other than that the hotel was conveniently located in the centre of town and well managed. The room had good views of the city/surrounding water ways. we had access to club lounge where they served dinner canopies, the food was delicious. Breakfast was very good with lots of varieties. Highly recommended.

We were in regency club and arrived in the club lounge at 6.10pm and there was very little food left to eat this was not re plenished either and at 7.00pm we asked for some red wine and were told there is no more !! A very disappointing service considering the price we paid

The staff were great and helpful. But breakfast was an absolute.... show! Nothingbabout breakfast was easy had to chase staff for the basic like cutlery. The restaurant had a poor level of items like no napkins - when asked the staff were surprised we didn't have any but they didnt give it in the fisr place so what the hell!!!! Not great Hyatt. Not great at all.

Beautiful hotel. Really enjoyed our stay. Reception staff are absolutely lovely but the restaurant staff are not. At breakfast the waiting staff brought the bill before food had been served and tried to take payment while we were still eating. Never experienced something like this before. We were potentially slightly underdressed for such a place but were going in the spa straight after breakfast. Being underdressed shouldn’t impact service regardless. A real let down to the rest of the staff.

Beautiful hotel, with excellent facilities. Maintained to a very high standard, and extremely comfortable. Lovely food in the restaurant for both evening meal and breakfast. Staff polite, courteous and efficient. There are cheaper hotels around, but glad we paid a little extra to stay in this one. Would/will definitely stay here again.

I liked the Hyatt. Everything was fine. Bedroom was comfortable and spacious, bathroom had bathttub and shower. Dinner was available late at night at the pub, as well as through room service. Breakfast was excellent, hosted by my friendly waiter Vinay.
