At first glance it seems to be better than some of the others on the strip as it is more quite but beware of the “looks like” free water and coffee in the room that when you check out the bottle of water is $25 and the bad coffee pod is $16. Insane there is no sign saying this isn’t free. Then the bed is a bit of a mess with a top sheet used as a bottom sheet which doesn’t stay in place for even 1 night. Then we left our room at 2:30, put on the housekeeping sign which doesn’t seem that late for Vegas standards but of course no one came. Overall it was fair but being overcharged for water to the tune of $25 is just highway robbery. No thanks I felt taken advantage of.

The hotel asked to download the MGM APP for faster check in, and a remote key, but that was still not available when we arrived at 2:15. We waited in line for a half hour and was told at 2:45 that housekeeping was currently in our room and a text would be sent as soon as they were out and we could check in. After 4 pm, I finally checked back at the front desk and our room had been ready the entire time and they “forgot”’to text me. Not acceptable for the price of the room.

W hotel is just another building within Mandalay Bay by MGM resort which defines the service. There was no complimentary water in the room, in-room dining had only pre-packaged options offered by MGM resorts (W doesn’t have its own dining options either), bathroom didn’t have vanity kit, and pool didn’t have staff to help set up chairs and had only limited number of chairs available without paying extra fee (after you pay $50 resort fee), no food service at the pool either. That said W didn’t offer 5-star hotel service
