Courtyard by Marriott Akron Downtown

Nice stay. Nice rooms. Clean. Parking is in very busy public area unless you pay additional fees. Picture of indoor pool and hot tub is not for this hotel. No hot tub at this hotel, disappointing and false advertising, please correct. No breakfast included. All pay options. Nice location for scenic train.

Parking was not posted easy to see It was confusing

No hot tub. Bistro not open in the evening. Up and coming neighborhood, but not safe to walk downtown from hotel. Most establishments around hotel (there were not many) not open on Saturdays, except for a marvelous Italian restaurant across the street. Friendly staff, clean rooms.

Not up to the standards of other Courtyards that I've visited. Front desk employees were great, helpful, and quick. Otherwise, staff was not great. The bar and grill had extremely slow service - we ended up having to cancel our dinner order to get to our event that evening. Beds okay, not horrible, not comfy. The shower tries to be modernistic, but only has a partial glass divider and no door - tends to let all the heat out so even if you have the water super hot all the warm air escapes. And the bathroom floor gets wet. Plus, shower pressure was poor. Room was decently clean, but if you do book here make sure you ask for a room on a high floor and well away from the stairwells. There were a ton of visiting college athletes at the hotel, and a bunch were on the upper floors. Not wanting to wait for the elevators, they frequently pounded down the stairwell, which echoed into our room into the late hours of the evening. Parking will always be an issue for this location because the lot immediately in front of the hotel is not even for guests, it's for the other restaurants and businesses in the same plaza. So, you have to park in lots a bit further away or under the nearby bridge. And make sure you get a spot early, because the slots are very limited. Best aspect of this hotel? It's right next to Luciano's, which is a fabulous upscale steak restaurant. It's central to downtown Akron.

The room floor was dirty, the pool was small and not enough seating for parents to watch, great exercise room, limited and expensive food.

The bar on site was great. Walking distance to lical stuff.

We stayed here with our family one night. The property is clean and newer. All the staff were nice. Parking is free across the street or you could pay in the garage for 20 dollars. We did free parking. The location is near restaurants and other shops. The pool is really small, but the exercise room is nice. It was nice overall. I would stay here again! Thanks :)

Check-in was easy, we loved our room, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. There is plenty of free parking and also some paid parking available under the building with easy elevator access--perfect if you have many heavy bags and are exhausted after a long day.

Not enough parking. Not familiar with area so wasn’t sure if we were safe walking from under the bridge at 1230 at night! Starbucks in lobby closes at 930 am? And maid knocked on the door to see if we were still there at 10. Can’t they call down to the desk instead of disturbing us?

The room was clean and the staff are friendly.

I booked a suite but was given a regular room. When we asked the front deak about we were first told it was all booked but then they changed it and offered us another room which was even smaller yet. We tried to get the price difference since we were staying in cheaper room they said they couldn't because we used hotels.com to book. Room was ok but ac barely worked so it was super hot, the bathroom wasnt cleaned all the way from stay before us as toiletries were already opened and used. Pool is way smaller than pictures indicate and was pretty dirty. General cleanliness was an issue, lots of stuff on floor in hallway like they havent swept in a few days. Staff was pretty rude and short like they werent concerned with you enjoying your stay. Elevators were slow and one staff member said they break down often. Bed was comfortable and nice location other than that wouldnt stay again.

The only thing was the bathroom shower had an open concept which is very pretty but the wall was too short with no door and the whole floor got drenched and for the price you have street parking or pay for the garage. Wish they just included the garage parking.

Not very clean. The air conditioning didn’t work properly. The shower was without shampoo and there was a hair coming out of the conditioner dispenser. Not a warm welcome at the front desk. Location was sketchy.

Room was clean. Hotel was generally quiet. We know the area and it’s a great spot. Plenty of places to grab food or drinks close.

The toilet seat was not installed properly it just sat on the bowl. The room could have been cleaner. We complained twice about a loud neighbor’s music. We were told we could be moved to a different room. We said it was too late (nearly 11 pm) for us to want to pack up and move. They replied that the neighbor had the right to be there just as we did. We said we would call the police to handle the noise complaint. Only then did the night manager address the issue and the music was turned low enough not to disturb us.

There was someone else’s hair in our towels. Other than that everything was wonderful! The staff are SO friendly from the graveyard shift to the morning shift. Book it!

The property was nice and clean. Location is great if getting on the Cuyahoga Valley train, however, not many dining options nearby and not a lot to do within a walkable distance. There is also not hotel specific parking, so you may have to walk a bit with luggage. Our room was very spacious and nice, and my family enjoyed the pool.

The shower floor was poorly pitched and didn’t drain well filling close to the top of the shower curb. The tv had two spots ( lights) shining in the middle of the screen. The room itself was clean and the tile,carpet,fixtures were very nice. Fix the drain and tv it would be excellent.

Only issue was, I was unable to get a consistant water temperature in the shower

It was not the king size bed we reserved online it was twin queens. Place was super clean. We didn’t bother them about the room. They were super busy.

Room was clean and quiet. There was a room near ours throwing a party but once in the room we couldn’t hear them.

Great place to stay, but beds and probably more the pillows were uncomfortable.

It was great, we needed room for the night. But something with the dresser, if opened the drawer it smelled so bad.

Not worth the cost for such an average room

Literally only gave it 4/5 stars because the front desk woman was extremely rude at check in. Room was very nice, clean and quiet.

The service was horrible. Do not go there. Very short staffed and no one willing to help who was there.

We just stayed one night for a concert. Check in was seamless and the staff member was really nice and helpful. We didn’t explore the area since we just stayed after the concert and than left in the morning.

Rented two rooms. One was very nice, the other had a strong smoke odor in it. The staff working the bar in the evening did not want to wait on us. 3 of us stood at the bar to get a drink. She made the first person's drink and cashed them out and never came back.

The staff was very polite and responsive.

We had an issue with our first room and the manager got us into a new upgraded room quickly and was helpful

No one was at the counter at arrival. Waited 17 minutes for someone to get there. Didn’t give me any information on if there was breakfast or a restaurant or anything in the building. The next morning after working a 17 hour shift, I was rudely waken by loud knocking on my door from housekeeping way before it was time to checkout when I needed sleep for my 3.5 hour drive back home.

Understaffed and improperly staffed. One person at checkout overwhelmed - I don’t blame her I blame management. The washing machine did not work and there was no maintenance to help. The air conditioning unit is in Celsius metrics. Not what I expect from a Marriott and as a Marriott member

The Courtyard was as expected. We booked there for its downtown location close to good restaurants and entertainment.

The property was nice and clean. Location is great if getting on the Cuyahoga Valley train, however, not many dining options nearby and not a lot to do within a walkable distance. Nice space for our large group to meet from out of town. Great restaurants and easy access to Akron U.

A good place to sleep, close to the trail!

Very nice hotel in good location. Very close to Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail. Free breakfast would have been a great offering! Luigi's Restaurant is must if you like Italian food. Cash only

We were there for a concert at the Civic Theatre and it was the perfect location for everything and lots of options of places to eat and have drinks.

Room was clean. Hotel was generally quiet. We know the area and it’s a great spot. Plenty of places to grab food or drinks close.

It's downtown so you could get to locations quickly. It's also near a local favorite pizza shop.

The parking lot was too small for a hotel. There was a wedding being held here and lot was full. Had to pay $20 per night to park in underground garage. Wasn't happy about this extra charge. Everything else was okay. Only had breakfast dining on premises - No free breakfast.

We enjoyed our stay and our room was wonderful. Our only problem was with the morning staff at the Starbucks cafe. Both mornings we ordered from the same staff member they were rude and inconsiderate. We didn’t do anything wrong and did not understand why this staff member was rude to us. We only ordered two coffees and two food items.

Great location, super clean! Loved the speakeasy!

The parking was not that easy. I was charged $30 for one breakfast and only got 2 French toast and a milk. (They limit 1hot item and drink or 2 cold items and a drink).

Adequate Stay… had to walk a bit for parking, it’s not onsite but public parking although free. Restaurant for breakfast was understaffed and led to a bit of a wait.
