The Weller House

The Weller House is a historic, beautiful accomodation near downtown Fort Bragg. We had a wonderful stay, comfortable, convenient with a lovely garden, library, reception room, ballroom and tower. However, our stay was New Year's Eve and we had the front downstairs room, right next to the front door. Not that it was a problem, but the Tango Dance party went until 1a and we heard lots of footfall, door opening and closing and vaccuming after the party that caused us to lose sleep. This is a just one off, so not complaining, but to let the owners know that this may be a consideration for next year to communication with all your guests and perhaps consider this for those who book next year. I would stay again, but request a room in the tower or separate building. Finally, a suggestion to have water and coffee ready in the morning before 9a. We and other guests were circling the reception area needing a cup a bit earlier. Other than those two suggestions, the stay was lovely!

The staff was great. The owners come out and talk to you. Love the views on top of the water tower.

The Weller Inn was a true gem. The garden itself is peaceful and you can walk along the grounds to admire the vegetables and flowers. It has a lot of potential in being a B&B for sure. Inside the house several rooms were being worked on but the design and atmosphere ntings a special touch to each room and the house. The water tower each has rooms with their own kitchen and shower/restroom. Super cool to go up to the tower and see the sunset. It is close to the Skunk Train depot and Hwy 1. Highly recommended to be a weekend getaway

We had a wonderful stay at the Weller House. We stayed in the top room of the water tower. The room was super fun to stay in and the view was amazing! The owners are really nice and we really enjoyed talking with them. They even gave us a tour of the house and all the uniquely decorated rooms and told us all the history. It is a historical landmark, so it felt like we were visiting a museum and it was a destination activity as well as our hotel. Also, we really enjoyed the beautiful gardens, and the yummy cookies in the lobby. Thank you for such a memeorable trip! We will certainly be back.

Charming property within walking distance of downtown and the Skunk Train. The rooms in the main house are gorgeous! We stayed in the water tower (which was very cool!) but hasn’t been redecorated like the other rooms. It was comfie, had a small fridge and microwave, and hot water :) We had a view of the ocean and could lounge at the top of the tower to watch sunset. We also got to see a deer on property! This a very cool place to stay.

The Weller House is a beautiful property! We were given a short tour upon arrival, and we used many of the property's unique features, like the library, ballroom, and observation tower. The location was great!

This property is beautiful, historic, peaceful, and a very easy stay. The owners are lovely and accommodating, even helping us with a late check-in. The grounds are stunning and would be a great place for an event. The location is very central with coffee shops and pubs nearby, with the only drawback being the close proximity to a train station with horns throughout the day and early evening. I would definitely recommend Weller House and hope to return very soon!

Stellar location and facility. Wonderful gardens and lots of neat spaces to check out. The claw foot tub in the room was wonderful. The warm cookies available in the coffee room were dangerously good. Crawling distance to the Skunk Train.

The owners Jeff and Sunny were very welcoming and took the time to talk about the house and history of Fort Bragg. They made us very comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed the house. The water tower has an observation deck that has a commanding view of the city. It is a great place to relax and have a glass of wine.

Great place. Rich history and very nice owners. You want to make sure you know where you're staying. There's a main house, very navigable. But there's also a tower, no elevator and outside stairs. Everything about the tower is wonderful. But you may unwittingly book a beautiful room that requires walking up 2-4 flights of outside only stairs. Still, I would gladly stay here again.

The property owners made us feel welcomed easy to check in. Communicated with us to ensure we made it safely. The property is extremely cute, clean and comfortable. Checked into a cute room with clean and comfortable sheets. Made our anniversary vacation extra special with flowers and wine. Walked around got to enjoy the property spaces library and water tower. Can say enough aboutthe property loved it.

Spotless, beautiful and perfect

We were told in advance that this was a former Airbnb that is being transitioned to a boutique hotel. We had booked our room thinking it was a hotel but it was too late to change. I think it will be a gorgeous place but right now it’s clearly in process. It was convenient to downtown and quiet except for the Skunk Train. It was ok.

Disappointed with the room Seascape. Extremely small room, the bathroom has a folding door that doesn't close all the way, blinds are broken, the room was very cold when we arrived. The shower isn't in the bathroom, when you pull the shower curtain open, you are 3 ft from the bed. You can see the ocean but its not a view as you would expect. Wonderful host though!

We really enjoyed our short visit. The accommodations were nice, the oldest house in Fort Bragg. Many renovations have been completed, and more are in progress. We will likely visit again in the future to see all of the upgrades. Staff was very pleasant helpful and informative for the historic house. It would be good to have a little more time to enjoy the ambience.

Just terrible! False marketing and misleading descriptions . You should research these properties properly before listing them. I was instructed to call 10 minutes before arriving but I called numerous times and after 2 messages and waiting on the street for 30 minutes someone by the name of Jeff called back. We were earlier than the time I had indicated but still there was no one on the premises when we arrived. Very very old and worn out property. Definitely not up to my standards. Way past its heyday! No tvs either. Dusty and very old furnishings and draperies that wouldn’t close all the way. I’m really sorry I always try to see the positive in every situation and the only positive here was the receptionist Summer who was really trying hard to help me get a room on the lower floor

We stayed in the Topaz room for for a couple of nights and loved it. The property is very clean and beautiful, inside and around it. So Victorian inside, so close to nature outside. We appreciate the owners and staff for being friendly and for the wonderful service. Thank you! We will definitely be back. Richard & Athena

This property is lovely right now, but it was just purchased in the last year by a family who are fixing it very nicely, and I’m sure it will soon be outstanding! We had a great stay and enjoyed both the tour of the property and our room. We look forward to returning to see the upgrades when they’re complete!

My husband and I went for our 3rd wedding anniversary. I booked it because of the beautiful photos of the rooms. After some more research I became very excited for our stay at the Weller house. I was personally contacted via text by the host (Summer who was great) on the day of arrival. They wanted to know what time I would be showing up. When I arrived, they had freshly brewed coffee waiting for us. We received a tour of the mansion and learned a lot about what makes the Weller house so special. Our room was so beautiful (we stayed in the Opal suite). Our bed was SO comfortable. I later learned that the mattress on our bed was made in Fort Bragg and might be the comfiest mattress in the entire mansion. We had a large corner jacuzzi tub in our room that was squeaky clean and ran well. The water pressure from the shower head was strong which is a small life luxury. The view from the tower was stunning and worth the climb lol. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the property needs some TLC. I saw quite a few cobwebs in the house. The garden was pretty but needed some maintenance. A lot of dead plants in pots and a little bit of clutter outside near the fire pit. Also, 3 giant boxes of toilet paper were clearly delivered or placed right next to the front door on the outside. We saw it upon arrival. By day 3 when we checked out, the toilet paper boxes were still there. The whole experience was so great we loved it so much and will be back again for sure.

Amazing stay in the tower room!!! One of my favorite ocean view stays in all of my traveling! I loved the bath tub with jets too! The bed was so comfy too I honestly might go home and try to buy a similar one lol. The view from the rooftop is spectacular, you have a panoramic 360 view of the ocean and town!

We stayed in the "Panorama" room atop an old converted water tower on the property. Amazing views of the town and coast, though many steps to walk up. The primary facility is an old Victorian house/estate which is still in the process of being lovingly restored into an Inn and event center. Enjoyed our time there very much!

I barely saw anyone that works there the whole 4 days I stayed. There was ice machines and buckets but no ice. They advertised that they serve breakfast but only had cookies and coffee. The coffee was good but not hot. The bed was clean, The bathroom window had no coverings and stairs right out side of it. The windows had no locks, (was on the ground floor). The room was so small that it was barely functional. The price was way to high for the service, (lack of).

Quirky stay right next to the Skunk Train attraction. Well sized room with a view that met needs, along with being quiet and peaceful. Interested in visiting again and would like to see the rooms in the tower, when renovations would be complete.

We stayed in the Raven room in the tower. Beautiful property and nice area. This is an old property that probably dates back 100 years or so. There is a nice garden and you're within walking distance of food, shopping and glass beach. As mentioned, we atayed in one of the tower rooms. You can go to the roof level and have a view of the ocean when it's clear. No tv but our room did have a jacuzzi bathtub. Excellent experience and recommended.

The Weller House was gorgeous. I stayed in the Raven room, and everything inside made me feel at home. It was comfortable, spacious, and almost transported me back in time with some of the fixtures. The grounds of the property are beautiful, and I highly recommend watching the sunset from the roof of the water tower if you’re able to do so during your stay. It had the most stunning view of Fort Bragg, with the beach on one side and the forest on the other. Checking in and out was easy, and the hosts were lovely.

We were in and out on a quick overnight trip. But jeff the owner was one of the nicest and most accmodating people we met in Fort Bragg. The history of the Weller House is also very cool.

From the wonderful communication before our stay to the beautiful accommodations and service while we were there, everything was wonderful. The mansion and grounds are full of beautiful spaces and we look forward to coming back.

He and his wife are laying the finishing touches to a restoration of this historic home and are clearly proud both of the house, and the work put into it. It truly is a beautiful, historic property and our room was large and comfortable. Coffee and cookies are available throughout the day and the area is just a block away from all Fort Bragg's main attractions. We followed Jeff's suggestions and dined well at a local seafood restaurant then had drinks - and enjoyed some fantastic live music - at the Tall Guy Brewery. Breakfast in the morning was in a nearby cafe and was awesome - again, another suggestion given at check-in. We've stayed at a lot of hotels on this trip and this was easily the best - I'd highly recommend. We would definitely stay again.

The passion and vision of the owners is impressive, the service very personal and warm.

The Weller House was a wonderful establishment to stay at during our visit to Fort Bragg. The staff was very helpful and attentive and checking in and out was exceptionally easy. It was convenient to be close to the main city area and local shops and establishments. The hotel was walkable which was also a bonus.

This property was a self-check which i did not realize until after arrival. I was unable to complete the self-check in due to a glitch with Expedia and also told by one of the guests that they had booked the entire house. I called owner 3x and left 2 messages. I was unable to check in and did not receive a response from owner until following afternoon. They were very apologetic, but i still paid for a room that i was unable to use. I was also told that another guest had the same difficulty as myself and that it was a glitch with Expedia. They did offer a room in the future, but it's unlikely that i will return to the area.

This historic property (1866!) has been lovingly restored by a lovely couple. Each room is unique and some are in a restored water tower with views of the ocean! Homemade cookies and coffee/tea are always available and there is a lovely garden as well as several indoor spaces to hang out. Weller House is a short walk from the coastal trail and a 10-mile coastal bike trail, next door to the Skunk Train, and one block from the downtown with breweries, restaurants, cafes and cute stores in historic buildings. You can’t go wrong staying here - check it out!

I personally enjoyed our visit. This place was walking distance to everything! 4 minute walk to the Skunk train, 10 minute walk to Cowlick ice cream and 12 minutes away from Drop it donuts. The home is very charming. The new owners are revamping it and I am excited to see it completed. I appreciate that they are dog friendly. My husband and I stay in the tower behind the main house and had wonderful views. Our visit was short so we didn’t get to enjoy all the accommodations or the main Weller home. I appreciated the fresh baked cookies and coffee for a mid day snack.

Love the stay quite, inviting, friendly staff. Beautiful setting with updated needs. Eco friendly bamboo paper products and utensils. The rooms, unique and all different. Only cookies for food but plenty of places near by. We brought our own and store/cooked in our room. We stayed in the farm house room. It had it’s own entrance. No tv here lol. We enjoyed our own conversations. The skunk train noise wasn't bad as the last run to station was 10pm. Yes, the train was walking distance. We really were able to relax. Amazing

Bummed that fresh coffee and cookies would be available at 8. Unfortunately they weren't and we had to leave at 8:30. Other than that no complaints.
