Convenient location ie for shops, castle, transport links (railway station/metro). I had a good sized room with nice en suite. Hairdryer & kettle in room + tea/coffee but more milk would've been handy. Ground floor has seating/bar area, inc outside seating. Reception staff polite, helpful.

A friendly welcome and good service, Room was small but clean and adequate for a short stay on my own. A little small for two though. Bathroom and shower fine and can’t fault cleanliness throughout the hotel. Unusual to have no draught beer at the bar but the bottle I chose was decent. Didn’t opt for breakfast but it looked nice when I checked out. I only stayed one night but a good, central location. Wasn’t a great deal happening and lots of the bars were empty, (understandable for a Monday in February). Lots of chain restaurants around and it’d be worth doing some research if you’re staying and thinking of eating out. The nearest car park was shut so had a bit of a mystery tour trying to navigate the various one way streets and bus lanes but eventually got on an NCP about 10 mins walk from the hotel.

Everything you’d need from a city centre hotel! Walkable distance from many of the bars/restaurants. Super quiet inside once off the street. Bar open 24hrs to extend the night too!

The staff was not brilliant, poor information about car parking, need a deal with Dean street it’s crazy pricing to park. Need knowledge on the park and ride. We ended up parking for The first night at Stephensons quarter which was mikes away so caught an uber. Poor information at the desk, we went to the wrong lift for level 6, not told Tired and cross. Breakfast is not British just continental definitely won’t stay again.

Had a decent stay here! Really like the location and being able to leave your luggage after you check out is a nice touch. Staff are friendly and e have stayed here before and will more than likely be back again but unfortunately on this occasion the bed seemed to be very firm to the point it was uncomfortable, the bottom sheet didn't fit on the bed and the duvet was very thick for this time of year considering it was over 20 degrees at the time of our stay. We did have Aircon which we did use but this still didn't really help once you were in bed.

Room was small but practical. Quiet and comfy bed. Good blackout curtains. Old carpets and stains on furniture. Shower fan not working so after a showier the whole bathroom was like a steam room for the evening/night. Breakfast cheap but cheerful- no hot food but suites us fine. Good central location

The lounge and bar were stunning however for the price paid the room was tiny, not even enough room to wheel a suitcase down the bottom of the bed, we booked a king room which was two single beds pushed together which kept separating during the night, upon stripping the bed the next morning the mattress had no protector on and was covered in all types of hair, the walls were covered in what I’m assuming to be coffee stains that had been thrown up the walls, the bathroom floor and shower were covered in hairs as well as shower gel left on the walls. The staff however were lovely. But would not stay again as it felt like a claustrophobic hostel, it’s definitely not designed for anyone over six foot or more than one night, as the bed was tilted and the signal was appalling as well as the WIFI, check in was smooth however we were not provided with any information about the hotel itself just payment and our room number.

Very clean and comfortable room, excellent bathroon with good shower. Really liked the interior design and general feel of the hotel and we were able to leave our bags all day while my granddaughter visited the university that was close by. Also very reasonable price for two rooms.

Hotel staff were very good , however mould was found above shower unit along with shower hose spraying water into lights on ceiling . Bed was comfortable to lie on until the beds started to separate due to them being two singles pushed together .

Unfortunately the bathroom had a very strong smell of urine around the floor of the toilet, additionally there were makeup smudges on the bottom of the mirror, and makeup stains (orange foundation marks) on plug sockets and light switches, which made the room feel unclean. The smell in the bathroom was very strong and unpleasant. Additionally it was hard to sleep due to other guests letting their doors slam, this happened a few times between 11pm-1am both nights, so I didn’t end up sleeping well at all, which had a negative impact on my day (I was staying in Newcastle due to a job interview so the lack of sleep due to slamming doors was especially disappointing). I appreciate that these are heavy fire doors but the sound was so loud it vibrated the walls. Overall the location is great, staff were professional and as a budget hotel it’s fine if you’re travelling for social reasons.

One of the nicest places we've stayed in Newcastle and the location was first class especially for the Theatre Royal & the Bigg Market. Receptionist 'Chloe' was very friendly and welcoming! Room was brill (Room 532), nice King Size bed, Aircon fantastic and everything else brill for an Overnight stay. Happily go back again for the price

Great location and room as expected for a Motel One. Only issue was the temperature of the rooms. Despite the control being at its lowest number the temperature of the room didnt change and i was too hot and struggled sleeping. I had to open the window to get some air in but that did mean noise from the pub courtyard outside.

Great value hotel in a very central (but quiet) location just off Grey Street. I ahve stayed her 4 tims but in this occasion the room was far too hot, even with the window open, and there seemed to be no way to turn the heat down

This MotelOne is well located. Staff are friendly and efficient. Having said that the rooms are starting to look a little run down and the air conditioning in mine was totally underpowered for a south facing room.

Really nice hotel, helpful staff, very well located in the center of the city. Rooms are clean and the facilities were great. Only issue we had was that the room was very hot and we just couldn’t get the room to cool either with the AC or by opening the window even when it was 7 degrees outside. This meant we had a very uncomfortable night.

A fantastic location and a great hotel with rooms that relfect the price point at which it sits. Small but fine for one or two evenings. Walls could do with a touch up and having stayed a few times its difficult to regulate the temperature of the room. Great shower facilities and a comfy bed. Worth a stay and will do so again.

We stayed at Motel One yesterday and were left dissatisfied with their customer care. Upon arrival we attempted to check in only to be advised their systems were down. We had a tight turnaround with a dinner reservation which had left us about a 30 minute window to get into the room and get changed for dinner. The staff were extremely discourteous and did not offer a drink while we waited for their systems to come back online. They claimed it wasn’t their fault, even though it clearly was and we were the ones inconvenienced. We were offered no discount or any proper apology as despite speaking to a manager and emailing a complaint I have received no discourse. This has definitely put me off staying there in the future, along with being questioned on arriving back at the property after 11pm as their card reader to unlock the door does not work. All in all, probably the worst service I have ever encountered at a hotel.

I had a really good stay at Motel One Newcastle. Booking and check-in were simple and the team on reception were friendly and professional. My room was easy to find, very clean and tidy, with a comfortable bed and a well laid out bathroom. I liked that I could decide about breakfast later. When I did have it, it was a straightforward continental spread but with plenty of choice – breads, meats, cheese, yogurt, fruit, even soft-boiled eggs. The location was great, just a short walk from Monument Metro, and there are good places to eat nearby – I found a nice spot at Cote. The hotel itself was fairly busy with a mix of tourists and business travellers, but it always felt comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. For the price, it felt like really good value and I’d happily stay again – probably my first choice when I’m next in Newcastle.

Outstanding service and made me feel very welcome! I was traveling for my birthday and my wife arranged for presents to be delivered to my room from the US. Krista and Rachael were very helpful and made it happen. The hotel even left me a handwritten birthday card. So nice and unexpected! They also gave me a top floor room with incredible views of the city.

Modern, clean city centre hotel. Close to Central Station and night life. The Stand Comedy Club just next door. Room and bathroom not large but quite adequate for a single night or weekend break. Continental breakfast and cereals available. Security controlled access on Friday / Saturday nights.

Great stay was well within walking distance of nice pubs restaurants and venue O2 City Hall. Room was small with a view to the back, slightly noisy when emptying waste trucks and logistic traffic. Room was very warm even opened the window hence the noise heard. Was value for money all amenities needed would stay there again. Breakfast looked nice but didn't stop for it saw as we walked through to check out.

Central newcastle location..very noisy and busy on fri snd sat night but hotel is locked at 11 am with access only via keycard..5th floor quiet but some disruption on floor 1 . Rooms warm on 5th floor and air conditioning inadequate..bar area very nice and comfortable and secure..dog friendly and staff lovely but little dog appropriate outdoor space apart from the newcastle streets..plenty of eaating out options but avoid fri and sat as busy and leary

The hotel is in a great location. I came down for the great north run and it had great options for food in the immediate vicinity. Where i parked was only a 10 minute walk away. The hotel itself is lovely. Lobby area is beautiful and i found the rooms comfortable and not too hot. I can never sleep the night before i run an event but when i did get to sleep it was a pleasant nights sleep. My room was outside the stairwell and which was occasionnaly noisy but nothing to complain about. TV was a bit hit or miss if it wanted to work or not. Would happilly stay again if in the area.

Parking is far from then location and breakfast was nothing comparable to the muliple other motels we stayed at and paid 30usd for bkfst. Nothing cooked except a few hardboiled eggs,stale bread, and 1 of 3 coffee machines on. The other Motel 1s and regular motels served hot food for less. Eggs, sausage, beans, and more. Disappointed

The staff are very friendly and helpful...always. We have stayed here twice. The hotel has an amazing Continental breakfast buffet, if you chose that option. Train station, restaurants, grocery store are all within a few minutes walk. We would definitely stay here again.
