La Paloma Las Flores

La Paloma Las Flores was a very cozy place to stay. We stayed here for 2 nights and it was perfect. It was easy walking distance to all the main attractions. They only have stairs so the walk up and down may be a little difficult but the employees are more than happy to help. I would 100% come back to stay here again. Special thank you to Tony who was very hospitable.

A vintage classic beauty. This hotel is not new but it is very clean and convenient to all of the activities on the island. Their is no pool but my family was going for the beach. The rooms are cozy, not spacious. We ate at least one or two meals in the room everyday. Cabin number 5 is my favorite and I am definitely going back next year for my 6th visit.

I loved the tropical feel of the property and the fact that the rooms are separate cottages. It really eliminates any noise from neighbors. The full kitchen was great, and the market is right across the street to buy food to cook. The weather was rainy and cold, but the heater worked well to keep the room comfortable. It's located very close to all the shopping and dining, but still tucked away in a quiet area. The room had everything we needed, and all the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again.

Quiet although a little dated. Currently under renovation according to the property management. Staff were very courteous and cordial. Be aware that this establishment is not handicap accessible. Bathrooms are tiny with separate shower area. Close to main attractions in the area.

Cozy cottages tucked away from the main drag. Lovely courtyard with fountain greets you upon arrival. Lots of little tables and chair to enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine amongst lots of plants and trees.

The owners are super friendly. The rooms are so so, clean but shabby. Unfortunately they placed us at the highest floor with no elevator. I’m fit at 72 but my son is disabled. Once we figured out that we could go up a steep 1/2 flight to the street behind the hotel it was much easier to get to and fro. In the summer the wisteria grows on the trellises and probably lives up to its name.

We arrived at Friday night. Right after we took off from the Catalina Express, I called the front desk and told them that we would be there soon. It only took 7 minutes from the terminal to the hotel, very walkable even with the suitcase. The office is upstairs which is not accessible. But it is OK for my family. The staff was waiting in the office to check us in. Our room is on the top of the hallway with steps. It is not modern or fashionable, but very clean and cozy. We like the small kitchen and dining, which is very convenient for us. The second morning, with the sunlight, we finally saw the gardens. Not big but very beautiful. BBQ is easy to use. The location of the hotel is very quiet and convenient, close to Vons, the beach, the Museum of Art and History, and the marketplace. We had enough rest every day after a couple of activities. If you don't mind stairs, and no need for free breakfast, I highly recommend this hotel. By the way, the neighbors are very nice!! They have tons of bird feeders in their yards and balconies. We love to see birds, butterflies, and hummingbirds every morning and afternoon in the alley.

I felt right at home. With bedroom, kitchen, private bath, and closet, I settled right in. Good water pressure, hair dryer, iron, kitchen utensils, and all the supplies I needed. Hot water came quickly, good water pressure. The staff and owner were friendly, helpful, and kind. I highly recommend this hotel. It's not on front street so was quiet. Only concern is steps up to the rooms, but it was fine for me.

Great for us, would be challenging with elderly or very young/mobility issues. We were in #8, at the top of the stairs. Very quiet. Felt like staying in grandmas cottage. Kitchenette includes a stove/oven. Great little courtyard.

The room was very clean, quiet and cozy. A lot of stairs so I got plenty of exercises. The cottage had pretty much everything you need. The store was just 2 blocks away and coffee was right down the street. The place was fun and the staff was very helpful anf friendly. I'll be back.

The staff was super friendly. But the grounds around the rooms had personal clutter and junk laying around, like broken motor bikes, baby walkers and junk. The room had roaches! around the bathroom sink and we couldnt even sleep because they were crawling on us, the beds were uncomfortable and very squeaky. I dont wont be staying here again.

This hotel exceeded my expectations Tony who runs the Inn was incredibly kind, with amazing service and upkeep the Inn was immaculate clean and gorgeous detail. We stayed in unit 9 and the view was divine ✨️ we will be back. I rate this Inn a 10/10!

The peaceful property is in walking distance to everything. There are beautiful plants everywhere. We stayed in room 12. We liked the size of the room and it was clean; however there was noticeable water damage. Certain areas of the flooring (in the bathroom and living area) were wet during our entire stay. We could not walk around in our socks without getting them wet. The shower was also extremely small.

Had a very nice stay. Staff is very friendly and accommodating, especially with our luggage. While the rooms are not spectacular they are clean and it was nice to have a little kitchen, although I did not use the oven. The property is inviting with a water fountain in the front courtyard and lots of greenery that canopy over the stairs that lead to the rooms and office. It’s quiet during evening and nighttime hours, clean, and very convenient to restaurants, shopping, the beach and activities. Great place to stay if you aren’t looking for “fancy” and we will be back.

The vibe was very quaint and similar feel of traveling abroad in a different country. Lots of Catalina has this feel, which is lovely. My only complaint is that the coffee machine was very poor quality and coffee in unit was not provided. It would have improved our stay if there was a small drip coffee machine with coffee provided in unit. We wanted to enjoy our balcony view in the morning but had to go out to get coffee and then come back for the view. The other aspect was the shower is small and for anyone larger in stature, it would be a very tight squeeze! We did enjoy our stay, the staff was friendly and the people staying at the location were all very kind. Just a few items could be improved!

I ordered and paid for a room(s) that slept 4 so we had a bit of space. We got a room that slept 3. The shower/toilet was absolutely tiny. The kitchen was tiny with a range that had 2 working burners. The third burner was right up against the wall so we did not dare to use that. We felt the floor was going to fall off the side, it sloped so badly. The place was clean, though. There was one cleaning sponge that was very old so we did not use that.

Lots of stairs! We were in unit #14 which had a nice deck and partial view of the ocean…the unit above us (not sure if residence or part of property) extremely loud like they were moving furniture all weekend…bathroom is tiny with little water pressure and shower stall smaller than that on a small boat…they have pride in the property, and nicely kept and clean…did I mention a ton of stairs?! Good location and pretty quiet other than the “loud talker” guy above us moving furniture around all weekend…would likely not stay here again…extremely pricey (+$1200 for 3 nights?) for basically camping.

Ultimately this place was beautiful, and felt more like home than a hotel or similar. The people that checked us in were very helpful and hospitable. The only thing I’d say I was disappointed with, is the tv service. We were not able to watch tv without constant network interruptions. The restroom is pretty tiny. Everything else was comforting.

Nice, quiet place in the heart of Avalon. Three minute walk to the harbor and five minute walk to the golf course. There is a Vons within a minute walk for all your supplies. Room number 14 is amazing with a full kitchen and a private balcony overlooking the town with an ocean view. The hotel staff are very friendly and accomodating.

We had the pleasure of staying in two different rooms due to some booking issues which staff was quick to resolve. Night one we were in room 16 which was about three stories up and very secluded. It had an amazing view, was clean, and cozy. ( there is no elevator so if you can’t do stairs I would advise staying on the first floor) Night 2 we stayed in room 3. Both rooms had their own kitchen and bathroom. The shower is small and has no bath. Room 3 is right across from the office which was convenient. Staff is super super nice, they held onto our luggage while are room was getting prepared and even put are luggage inside the room once it was down. Checking in and out was super easy. Would definitely stay here again!

Such a cozy little place with so much character. If you are looking for a pristine resort with unlimited amenities, this is not the place for you. Minimal amenities here, but everything you need to stay comfortably. Unique little rooms with slanted floors and crooked walls that have stood the test of time. The rooms are updated, but without losing the feel of their original design. Great location within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. Would stay again

We LOVED our stay at this hotel. We had an apartment style room with a patio balcony that we spent every morning and evening on. The view was wonderful, seeing both the ocean and up into the valkey & hillside. It was among local housing but so quiet and comfortable. There was a grocery store 2 blocks away and fabulous restaurants 3-4 blocks down the hill. Anything you could want to walk to was less than 20 minutes away in any direction. The staff was the BEST making sure to greet us daily, check in on any needs and getting extra pillows, towels or others requests to us in minutes.

The location is very good, close to a grocery store and main street. The property does not have a good sound insulation due to old age. I had a family of four stayed above me and I could hear their foot steps clearly. I could not sleep well for two nights. Luckily, they checked out and the manager chose not to put more people stay above me.

The property was super cute. LOVED the courtyard. I was in the downstairs room, which was a good size, but the ceiling didn't absorb any noise from upstairs. The people upstairs might have been super loud stompers, but regardless, we could hear every single step of the mile that they walked every day =(

We have used them several times and they have been amazing everytime!!! You can not beat their hospitality. Everytime we we asked for anything we had it fast and efficient

We loved staying here. We came with our ebikes and they helped us safely store the bikes. The staff were so sweet and it was truly a beautiful and wonderful getaway for our family. The property is cared for with lots of love and that energy is felt there! We will definitely stay there again!

Nothing but wonderful things to say about La Paloma Las Flores. The staff were incredibly helpful, understanding and nice. They offered us more towels, helped us out when our group required a later check-out, were friendly and did whatever they could to make our stay comfortable.

Easy check in process, and they let us check in before 3pm which was convenient since our ferry arrived at 11 am. Room was comfortable and clean

Cute spot in a convenient location, and more affordable than some of the surrounding hotels. Service was very good. We had an issue with the hot water on our 2nd day and they fixed it relatively quickly and then gave us a gift certificate for one of the local shops. Room’s definitely need a good deep cleaning and upgrades (rusty shower door and bathroom mirror, baseboards covered in dirt/dust, dresser drawers had hair in them). Overall not a bad stay, but I will pay a little more next time for and updated location.

Boyfriend and I stayed for three days and it was wonderful. We were allowed to check in 2hrs early and the staff was so incredibly sweet and accommodating. From the dock it is a small walk and a bit of an incline, not to mention depending on your room there could be quite a few stairs but it was all worth it if you’re up for a small workout. Our view was gorgeous and even the neighbors were so polite. Due to the broken window covers we did run into a small ant problem that we were able to resolve on our own. Another inconvenience we did run into was our mini fridge broke and began leaking our first night, however when we left out in the morning we told the receptionist and someone came and fixed it. If water pressure is important I will say that the shower was quite weak and the bathroom was small but these are very minor things. I would absolutely recommend this location especially with the price. If you’re anything like me the pictures shown make the inside of the room look a bit bland but I promise everything was so cute and welcoming!

This is a cute old time Catalina hotel. We had a room with a full small kitchen which was very handy. The staff is very friendly. Clean. Good location to the local Von's for shopping and close to the downtown. There are many steps, but this is a town that requires walking.

I've been coming to la polama for the last 6 years and have never left disappointed. Easy walk to and from the boat. Right across the street from Vons is always convenient.

The hotel was super quaint and cute. It was the perfect size for my husband and I during our visit to Avalon. It's right across the street from the Vons and only a few blocks away from the beach. It was the perfect stay I would stay their again!

This is a great place to stay while visiting Catalina Island. The staff is great and the hotel is quiet. It's less than a block from Vons and only a few blocks from the main boardwalk.

La Paloma was in a great location with a grocery store nearby and a short walk to the beach. Opening our room door for the first time was a good feeling to see cleanliness and space. The staff was friendly. We enjoyed our stay at La Paloma!

The plants and foliage were beautiful, we had a balcony with a beautiful view. The staff were friendly and helpful. We loved that it’s not on the main street so we never heard all the golf carts all night. It’s secluded enough and close enough to be in the perfect location.
