Nice hotel, good decor, funky bar downstairs. Seems to be a permanently non working lift. It’s quite noisy at the front of the hotel as people drink loudly outside your bedroom window sometimes so maybe take ear plugs if you are a late / early sleeper. Parking quite expensive but plenty of it available. Would stay again!

The bar area was packed and a DJ wa playing very loud music. Not really a hotel to relax in. Way too loud to enjoy dinner as you couldn't hear yourself over the music, so we went out....

Property in on a quiet square in city centre, however is a lively bar and restaurant with hotel rooms about. It’s really convenient and easily walkable to train station, NCP parking (some on street parking also outside hotel), bars, bullring and other shopping and stadiums. The rooms were very nice and quite large, good and cocktails were good. Nicely decorated and comfortable, included fridge, safe, iron and board, hairdryer, coffee machine and kettle. Good mirrors and desk, bathroom was a little tatty at the edges if you’re being really picky. We stayed on a Saturday night do the bar was very busy and open until late. Our room was at the front so we could hear sone noise from customers outside, this was fine with us but may not be for everyone. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

Lovely hotel in a perfect location. Has a small car park too at the back which was a bonus. Breakfast was really nice. Only down side the mattress wasn't very comfortable. Would stay again

Great stay, comfortable, well equipped room. Good location on edge of Jewellery Quarter and Business District. Friendly bar on ground floor. Only gripe was that lift not working which meant lugging cases up 4 flights ofstairs.

This is a hidden gem. It is a very nice hotel just on the outskirt of the city but only a few minutes walk from the town hall. There is a very nice bar with outdoor seating at both the side of the building on on the street with a church view. The rooms are nicely decorated with a modern bathroom and a mini bar with a very pleasant surprise! There was plenty of parking at the rear of the hotel although this is charged via an App at £21.50 per 24 hours.

Hotel itself is good and convenient for central Birmingham with the tram stop just around the corner. Room comfortable. Couple of niggles that could make it better. We only had 1 towel and no hairdryer and despite asking twice still didn't receive these. Was told when we left that hairdriers were broken and they didn't know where housekeeping kept the towels. We were offered a complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience but had just left the restaurant and had already paid for breakfast. No refund was offered. Food was good. Had a meal there on Saturday which was very good. Breakfast was also good quality but little things could have been better. Had to ask for butter to go with toast. There was nowhere to put rubbish and teabags at drinks station. No plates for pastries, fruit had run out and not replced, milk had run out and not replaced had to keep asking for things to be refilled, staff need to be more attentive to breakfast buffet area. Overall stay was pleasant enough, and I would stay again despite the small niggles.

Excellent staff and hotel The only downside to our stay was the loud music Parties are held downstairs in the bar area until midnight being a hotel I was hoping for a more relaxed hotel with background music at an acceptable level

Very overpriced with faulty lift, broken lock on room door and ridiculously loud music in the bar until past midnight.

The bathroom and shower were completely full of black mould. I would not stay here even if you paid me! Don’t waste you money on a fake 4* hotel

Clean bedrooms in nice restaurant/bar. Quite lively so be prepared for a bit of noise at night.

There was an issue with the water being discoloured and the lift was out of order. No coat hangers in the wardrobe and the towels and bed linen had seen better days. Cleanliness was not the best either

Stayed here before and was beautiful spotlessly clean. Was really disappointed this time the blind in the hotel room was broken. The shower was dirty and mold by the mirror in batbroom

Room was spotless. Bed was siper comfy. Prosecco, juice and water were a nice addition. Hotel is lovely and the surrounding area is perfect. Staff were attentive and friendly.

Stopped one night, all you need is comfy bed and clean room, top marks for both.

Local for Jam house. Lack Room claenliness. Blood stained pillow. No pillowcases on pull out bed. Staff stated there were none avaliable. Toe nail clippings on floor. Mattress did not fit the bed. Offered pillows to fill in the gap to prevent injury. Mould in bathrooms. Easybto clean mould so no excuses for this. Lift out of order. Breakfast was shambolic. Ling wait for a coffee. Breakfast arrived lukewarm, with 1 poached egg cold, sourdough toast bread cold. Ridiculous price to park for 24hr.

Have stayed here lots but disappointed this time as sink dirty (like someone had been sick in it) and shower door was broken and wouldn’t open. Also lift was out of order (this was the case last time we stayed too). Great location though.

Room was clean and spacious. Bed and pillows - very comfortable. Shower pressure good. Service was fantastic. Atmosphere in Lobby was really nice and the food was delicious. Great venue that I would recommend.

Very clean and quiet, lovely spacious room and central location. The lady on reception was very polite and friendly. Would stay here again if in the area.

Great 2 night stay while visiting Birmingham Jewellery Quarter and beyond - during a July heatwave (!). Great base from which to explore. Comfortable front-facing double room overlooking leafy Saint Paul's Square. Our first floor room was not directly above the bar, so no excessive noise from below on a busy Saturday night, other than the chatter of late night customers sat outside through our open window. Minus points: Extract fan in shower room was not working (slightly musty smell initially), and we couldn't work out how to turn on the TV. We reported these when we checked out - friendly staff seemed grateful for the heads-up. These were not major issues and didn't spoil our stay. Would certainly consider staying here again when we next come to Brum.

Very pleasant 3 night stay at St Paul's House. Room was spacious and had everything you would need. Free mini bar was a bonus. Food was excellent in the Restaurant. Good vibes around the bar area too.

The hotel is a very nice building, lovely location, superb entrance to the restaurant and the bar. The room was very well appointed. However room 1a has a huge fan unit just outside the window, the fan ran all night! The window seals are so poor it was just like having the fan in the room. Perhaps improved window glazing?? The other minor thing was the toilet roll holder which had been positioned in the toilet sitting area.

Extremely loud music from the bar audible in the room until almost midnight, at least over the weekend. Not just the bass through the walls or something, but to the point that you can shazam the songs and hear what the DJ is saying. Fine if you’re going to be out that late, but not if you expect to be able to relax in your room before midnight

This wasnt my first time here. I love the atmosphere and staff, they're all so accommodating. It's my go to venue when I'm working in the area. The room was a lovely size, iron, hairdryer etc and lovely drinks in the fridge. I knocked a star off because of a few things....the bed is way too hard for me, but that's just me. The blind wouldn't roll back up because the cord had come off the roller. The window wouldn't stay open(hot weather whilst visiting) and the air conditioning didn't do anything. My room didn't get refreshed whilst i stayed despite leaving a sign on the door handle, though the evening staff were lovely and brought more coffee and milk to my room for me. I was told a refurb is planned, so with this in mind, the little issues wouldn't put me off staying again. The food i had was absolutely gorgeous too. I love the place and look forward to staying again once it's had a refresh.

I like this hotel. It is on the only remaining Georgian square in Birmingham and is within an old building. The rooms are a good size and breakfast is lovely. The downpoints are that rooms on the road are noisy (only single glazed). The lift is out of order and has been on previous visits, the bed we had was uncomfortable and too small for the bed base. The TV channels were limited, no BBC or othwr basic channels despite retuning. Wifi needs a code entered and you need a new code for each item you have

We had a standard room, positives were it was clean and nicely decorated. There was complimentary water, oj and prosecco. We were staying for a family get together and the food and service at dinner was excellent - great atmosphere and good cocktails. Negatives - the room was quite noisy and the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast was disappointing - service was very poor and there was overall confusion whether it was included in the room price or not. The £15 charge was good value however the cooked breakfast I had wasn’t great - bacon was dry and overcooked and many of the breakfast items hadn’t been replenished, no plates etc. staff were friendly and apologised but overall feeling of disorganisation. Would eat and drink at the venue but not stay again.

Roadside room was noisy.

I read the reviews so was aware of the lift not working (still not working) and the noise from air con unit outside. The windows were single pane I think so it is quite noisy. Cleanliness was ok but not great. Staff could have been friendlier. Food was good in the restaurant downstairs. Also when we returned to the room at 10 we couldn’t get back into our room even though checkout was at 11. Overall an average place to stay- but expensive considering!

We have stayed at this hotel quite a few times when visiting Birmingham, The Bar is lovely and great for an afternoon of unwinding. The hotel rooms are good and bed comfy. We have also stayed for breakfast which is also great. The two things this hotel really needs to improve on is customer service. The person who checked us in did not say a word. No How are you today, have you travelled far, is there anything we can do... Literally nothing, handed us a key and pointed towards the door to the stairs.. The people checking in before us also said the same thing when we saw them in the bar later. The biggest issue I have with this hotel and it was the same last time we stayed is the housekeeping staff. Whilst the extremely strict policy of 3pm check in is adhered to, the same should apply to the check out. The same happened again this morning where at 8.50am, the housekeeping staff were in the corridor banging equipment, hoovering and we now know all the gossip as they were chatting outside our door for half an hour. If checkout is 11am, you should not be woken by staff pre 9am. We ended up leaving early, skipped breakfast and were sadly not happy customers. This place could be a gem, but some training in customer service and friendliness is needed along with some better processes in keeping noise levels down. Finally, not too sure why the lift is still out of order, but it has not been working for well over a year? We will return and give it one final chance.

Great at first sight. But no one told us, even after checking us into the top floor, that the lifts were out of service and looking at reviews, have been for months. No one also told us - until the following morning - that there are no quiet rooms. Despite being promised one by email from the hotel. And the person on reception made sure I knew that in a really entitled way and without an ounce of customer service or charm. Also felt a bit sorry for the sweet breakfast waiter obviously being given a hard time by the chef. Think a little bit of staff training would go a long way.

The hotel is set in a very nice quiet location and has a lively bar and restaurant area that you arrive too. Checked in fine to then find the lift was not working, I was not advised this by receptionist, luckily I don’t have mobility issues or a large heavy bag to carry. On first appearance room seemed pleasant with everything that you would need. However in the end fridge was not actually cold, there were no coat hangers, sink plug hole was filled with hair and iron was useless. The pillows were very fine and plastic covered so not comfortable at all. All this became apparent after going out for dinner so I did not report to reception as was ready for bed. Upon check out I reported the issues to reception and just about got a sorry as I was beginning to walk away. All in all a disappointing stay and I wouldn’t return due to the basic issues with the room and lack of attentive service at reception

I loved everything about this property. I was traveling solo but the atmosphere is safe. The food and drinks are the best. The cleanliness of the hotel is attributed by the cleaning staff who work above and beyond to keep the hotel clean. The entire staff are exceptional who make sure all of your needs are met. Not good with names ,but the manager I believe Chris is his name runs that hotel efficiently and is an inspiration to his staff. The female supervisor holds her own during her shift. Excellent worker. Victor is my favorite with his pleasant no nonsense approach which is so pleasing and different. He goes out of his way to make your stay a joy. And he makes the best margarita. Lol I had such a good time. Thank you all

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Staff could not do enough for us. Food was amazing. Atmosphere in the bar was brilliant day and night time. This was my last night away before major surgery and I could not have wished for more.

Stayed in a standard room for a single night as we were in Birmingham for a family event. Room was perfectly good for just the one night, but great that we could park on site and location is perfect both for the city centre and for the Jewellery Quarter. Bar and restaurant area looked very nice though sadly our timings meant we weren't able to eat at the hotel on this occasion.

I arrived at this location for work, and the temperature was exceedingly high. Consequently, I was satisfied to discover that the room was equipped with air conditioning. Good location close to alot of ammenities and where I was working.

Great location. Large stylish bar with great choice of drinks and the bar snacks were delicious. Breakfast good but very slow. Decent sized room, comfortable bed. Would definitely stay again and also visit for an afternoon/evening meal/drink

Room comfortable and welcome warm. Let down by breakfast which was was poor. Served guacamole with my Bacon, avocado and poached eggs and the smoked salmon was overpoweringly fishy. We made do with coffee which was good.

It has an attractive modern vibe with interesting decor and pleasant surroundings. The room was quiet and comfortable. And easy walking distance to Utilta Arena. Bar prices are a bit high but to be expected with the ambience available and lots of staff available to assist. The food was first class, in reasonable portions, and swiftly served by attentive staff. Now, to the less good, we were woken by housekeeping at 8.00 am, making lots of noise outside. On a Sunday, I would suggest a later start before the rooms adjacent to occupied rooms are cleaned, maybe? The shower seemed to have a life of its own, and I found it difficult to control the hose to direct the water stream over me, not the cubicle. The most disappointing was the lift being out of order. We are both seniors in years and have health conditions, so we struggle with stairs. We had difficulty finding the hotel, and the car park was not signed, so we went to an adjacent NCP Car Park, which increased the cost of the stay. If we stayed again, we would make sure the lift was operational.

Beautiful hotel. All staff were friendly and helpful. Food and drinks in the hotel resturant were lovely. Rooms were nice however bed was uncomfortable. Resturant turns into bar at night with a DJ which was great but if your wanting a peaceful early night, you can hear the music and noise.
