Parking was so easy

Check in was extremely quick and easy and parking right outside the door.

Needed more cleansers in the bathroom. And more coffee..plus an ice machine would be amazing

Heater works properly. Parking is very easy and just in front of the unit.

Beautiful room with huge jacuzzi. Can't watch tv from the bed. Strange odor but not too strong. No towel hooks. No ice machine on the premises. Nice mini fridge with freezer space.

Long way from the locations I like to go too. Was a little dirty in the room at check in. No Decaf coffee. Funiture was a little rough. Good things, I did get a good nights sleep. Was quiet at night. Parking is OK.

Biggest hotel surprise I’ve had in a long time. Big, clean, renovated rooms. Showers were great, bed comfortable, new microwave and refrigerator. Loved it.

Don't stay here. Non-smoking room we reserved had been smoked in repeatedly, judging by the number of cigarette burns on the carpet and tub. Room was also not very clean, expired food left in the mini-fridge, hair on the bathroom floor. Checked out early, just couldn't stay in the smoky "non-smoking" room for another night. Thankfully, Expedia assisted with a refund for the cancelled night.

The room was clean, warm and parking was very good. Staff was friendly and easy to talk to. My stay was very good I would recommend the Royal Lodge to travelers who are looking for a clean quiet place to stay. Thank you to the staff at the Royal for a very pleasant stay.

blankets was dirty also the bathroom and bed was full of hairs so disgusting

Sheets and bedding were stained. Curtains were stained. Furniture had stains. All the furniture was very beat up and just looked nothing like the pictures shown on the website

This place is disgusting! The walls, bathroom, sheets, blankets, and the entire room were filthy! Want a shower? Nope, there is a shower head in the tub but no way to turn it on. I had to have a bath and use a paper cup to rinse my waist-length hair. Fun times. The bathroom floor is made up of ceramic tiles that are cracked and broken. I cut my foot on a raised edge. Luckily it was a small cut. I laid down on the bed and felt something hard. I reached under the sheet, and there was a lighter under the fitted sheet. There was no back or battery in the remote, so they brought them up, but it was a waste of time as the TV did not even work. Check-out time: 7:30 AM. No one was at the office; the door was locked. I and another guest could not check out. The other guest left; I'm not sure if they came back to get the deposit back or not, but I came back after my MRI appointment and got the $150.00 back, although what more could be "damaged" in the room, I don't know.

Very clean room ..

Mold growing like crazy in the bathroom, blood on the lamp shade. Some sticky substance all over the alls. Stains on the bedding. Broken cabinets. Staff don’t care. Will be making a complaint to Alberta health services.

Very bad ,dirty room,dirty bathroom even the water was not working

The rooms are nice but its very easy to hear everybody outside the hotel... and the bed wasn't so comfortable i appreciated it but i just couldn't sleep on it

Very clean. Beds were comfortable. Had a small fridge/freezer, microwave and coffee maker. We were on 2nd floor, so took a couple of trips to get everything up in the room.

This hotel was a nice surprise. Location is quite convenient, you can flow to pretty much anywhere in Edmonton from there easily. Only thing that wasn't great is the fact that there is a train track behind the hotel, which can be a bit loud sometimes. For a light sleeper it can be a problem.

Hair on pillows. Pillow cases had stains. Sheet had cigarette burn. Requested new sheets and bedding for pullout sofa, sheets were stained, had to return and received brand new sheets. Hotel was quiet except can hear the train behind the hotel. Front desk is helpful.

Room was clean and nothing was too badly worn. However, this is an older motel

Some of the furniture is junk, chair was stained and torn, lamp shades looked like blood spatter inside it, table look like it was from a detention facility all carved up. No mirror in room other than the bathroom.

An average hotel/motel. Awkward to get to from the north or leave if heading south. Room tends to be dark and rather drab but it was clean and comfortable.

Recently renovated.. comfortable beds .. good value for what I paid

Place is pretty run down but everything worked as it should. I only slept there one night. No Kleenix in the room.

Oct 28, 2025 the night manager refused my wife and I because we didn't have a credit card to pay deposit and refused to refund the money we spent, said expedia was responsible for the refund

Unprofessional check in-was given a debit receipt, no detailed printed receipt of cost and break down of fees. Tv did not work, broken remote and hdmi cord.staff didn’t show up for 40 minutes even though it wasn’t busy at all. Was given single serve coffee packets for a full size coffee maker. No dish towel to dry the dishes we used. Dirty shower and tub. At least the bed was comfy lol

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. food at the flight deck sports bar was delicious and staff there also very friendly. The cleanliness and ambiance of the hotel are a 10 out of 10.

Excellent staff and great customer service

Check in was fast and easy , however the clerk just slapped my room card on the counter and told me the room number. No Wi-Fi info , so I assumed it was in the room. It wasn't. As my room was far from the office I asked a cleaning lady what the password to the Wi-Fi was. She told me , but the password didn't work so I just used my data. The bed was comfortable but there was a broken sping sticking out of the side of the mattress. I found out the hard way there are train tracks behind the motel and the trains are loud , to say the least. In conclusion , it wasn't the worst experience I've had , but far from the best. I doubt I will stay there again

I had called ahead to request an early check in. The lady at the front desk was very pleasant and quick to agree to the check in time. The day of arrival I happened to have the same lady, she was very pleasant & check in went very fast and efficiently.

Pretty good stay! My TV wasnt working and the guy came to help me out right away. Great service.

AVOID!! Stupid staff turned away my son late night from the room I had pre-paid leaving him stranded. He didn’t have a credit card for deposit for incidentals/damage even though I booked it and could’ve sorted it beforehand if they had mentioned it. Never before had a problem having booked hundreds of places across Canada with debit card deposits! No Duty of Care. No clue. This place is a DISGRACE to Expedia and should be removed immediately. I’d give it ZERO STARS if that were possible. Awful. Atrocious. Avoid.

Homeless camp set up outside. Front desk clerk took awhile to come out to check in and was not very friendly at all. You get what you pay for and was fine for a night. Tv remote didn’t work properly. It was fairly clean just old and run down a bit. I would maybe stay here again.

I have stayed here several times and although the property can be described as tired…it is clean and conveniently located for my needs. Check in is easy and quick, price is good and there are many eating options within a few minutes drive.

Drug deal outside and a can of pepper spray by my vehicle in the morning with a patch on the ground as well as at night a hooker got picked up. The rooms are nice, clean and the location is central but not a good neighbourhood and felt unsafe. And the beds are uncomfortable.

There was a laundry but only one person could use it at a time which was not very convenient and it was more expensive than a laundromat. The microwave smelt of curry which I disliked very much. It was hard to get to by car because it was on a 5 lane highway and it was one way!! The shops and restaurants were across that highway. Easy to walk to once you could cross it.

Overall pretty good, just the area is noisy due to next to main road

Quiet. Exiting to main road can be difficult.

For the price range, conditions were average until being subject to partying and violence from long term renters on the bottom level. Lots of noise , windows being smashed out and things thrown into parking lot which were not cleaned up by Royal Lodge staff. This is not a safe place.

It’s a big factor if the staff/receptionist was polite. He was so it a plus! In few weeks this strip will be the best because of its close proximity to food and services.

The rooms were newly renovated and clean. The beds were really comfortable. Location was good with lots of shopping and eateries in the area.
