Cielo Maya Beach Tulum

Amazing experience friendly staff beautiful view breakfast was ok but pool was astonishing. Fre Kayak and snorkeling equipment are big added values. Enjoy your travel to this beautiful place. Also the tours they recommend are very good. Izaac is amazingly helpful. Kudos.

Pro: Beautiful beach, quiet, secluded from busy downtown, staff was very accommodating, nice pool, offers activities, close to other hotels for food, not too far from attractions Con: poor water pressure, repairs needed, If you want to swim in the water, bring water shoes! The rocks underneath will hurt your feet. Also, take a taxi or rent a car from the airport. The shuttle is expensive. Overall, I would book this location again

Oceanfront with piers accessible to guests. Beautiful, clean swimming pool with hanging chairs and waterfall. Clean spacious rooms. Breakfast included. Restaurant on-site with delicious food. Massage service on-site. I highly recommend the massage.

I would definitely avoid staying here if possible , the check in was great and fast they even walk you through the room , very clean . But our very first night electricity went out, I’m pregnant and the night felt the longest ever without the AC working. They had one tiny emergency compressor that worked for like an hour. The next day everything worked and we were forced to have the AC off so our water could work. Our last day it goes out again!!!! That means no water , no electricity no anything . Saw families leaving the second day in because of it and they offer literally nothing for it and blame it on being at the Bay Area and happens very often apparently.

And ours did not seem to change much if we changed settings. Overall we loved it there and would come again.

The hotel is great. People are extremely nice. The area is very safe as we have our rented car as well. The only issue is that there are a lot of speed bumps on the road to the hotel. If you rent a car, make sure it's not a low car. The road is very dark, so it's not advised to walk at night without a flashlight. A car is recommended if you stay here. Breakfast is included but it's a la carte, so it's not all you can eat. Food is clean and well prepared. Plenty of places to sit and relax. We love the hammocks at the pier. The pool is very small and too cold, so we didn't use it. Overall, we like the place a lot.

We had a great stay at Cielo Maya. Located right on the beach with a pier and some hammocks. Also has a pool and some swinging chairs. Breakfast was included and great considering all the options. Rooms are a little dated without any USB ports but otherwise clean and very comfortable for the price. We were also able to rent a car directly from the hotel which was a great benefit and helped us a lot with day trips to other Mayan ruins and a beautiful lagoon. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great stay on a reasonable budget.

The breakfast had plenty of choices and all of it was delicious. There is a small convenience store about a 2 min walk from the hotel. They do not sell alcohol, just an FYI . There are different restaurants near by inside the hotels which are open to the public. If you are wanting to go into town I suggest you rent a car or a taxi. There is a Cenote about a 3 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel location was clean and very quiet at night. Everyone at the hotel provided excellent customer service.

The parking is right in front of the hotel, the pool is bigger than it looks and very nice and clean, the beach was calm and there are many seating options including hammocks on a beautiful dock, the rooms were very clean and comfortable with large bathrooms, water bottles were free, complimentary breakfast was excellent and you could order from many choices (hot food), plus staff were helpful and friendly. Beautiful location at a great price! Highly recommend. There are other hotels nearby where you can also walk to dinner if you wish to change your scenery at dinner or lunch. Also, this place was good for people looking to relax or families- not a party scene.

Servicen riktigt dålig. T ex så lägger de på egen dricks efter att man signerat. Maten undermålig. Att man betalar hutlösa priser som om det vore ett lyxhotell känns riktigt illa. Restaurangen ligger på baksidan av huset. Vill du äta på stranden lägger de på 25%.

The staff at Cielo Maya are so sweet and helpful. The property is beautiful, quiet, and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there.

The room was comfortable when everything was functioning, but it’s beautiful on a superficial level. If you pull back the curtains, there was mold. If you want to use the beautiful bathtub, it will take you more than an hour to fill with the trickle of water that comes from the spigot. Our stay immediately followed Hurricane Beryl, so I understand there were difficulties beyond their control, but I was disappointed that the staff didn’t inform us that they had no power or running water upon check in… not even mentioned. When I inquired, the answer was always “20 more minutes”, but the issue lasted 12 hours, well into my first night. We couldn’t shower, flush toilets, or enjoy the airconditioning, and it was uncomfortably hot. Finally, around midnight, power and running water were restored, but for the rest of the stay, power would go off intermittently for about 10 min at a time. It would have been wonderful to get a free beer or at least some transparency about the situation. The hotel is one mile down a VERY VERY bumpy dirt road, so the drive is not for the faint of heart. Do not stay here if you want to venture out often. I upgraded to an ocean view room. Thank goodness because the other rooms only had windows into the common area/ open lobby which would have been very hard for me. The food was good, but pricey. The best part about my stay was the complimentary breakfast. I will be choosing another hotel next time, most definitely.

Hotel Cielo Maya had welcoming staff which made our experience very enjoyable throughout our week long stay. The property including our room, beach, parking, restaurant, bar and guest areas were always spotless. There was no issues with water supply. We had a/c in our room, a small fridge and clean drinking water and coffee every day. The breakfast menu was delicious and there was a handful of other places to dine within walking distance. The beach was very private and clean in the hotel area, we walked 6 KM to the tip of the ruins and 4KM the other way to the end of the following bay when we wanted a change of scenery. There was also kayaks that we were able to use at no charge each morning to go snorkeling. We saw many fish and a few rays as well. The hotel was quiet at night and we had great sleeps in the comfy bed. I would recommend staying here and would stay again in the future!

Sauber war es. Aber das Zimmer wird nur alle 2 tage geputzt und es wird auch nicht vorangekündigt. die Überraschung kommt am Abend bim retour kommen vom Tagesausflug. Scheinbar ist der service nicht im preis des Frühstücks inkl. Das sollte man noch nachprüfen. Es gibt keine Heisse Schokolade zum Auswahl und ausser The oder Filter Kaffe muss man zusätzlich bezahlen. wir mussten beim ein und Aus-checken die Gepäck selber tragen. obwohl die Transaktion mit der American express durchlief, aber die Front Desk Mitarbeiterin weder gefragt noch Aussage gemacht hatte über welcher Art von Kredit Karten akzeptieren werden und aber auch weil es ausdrücklich auf dem zahl-Gerate drauf bezeichnet war dass mit der Amexco bezahlte. Aber sobald sie es gemerkt hatte, kam die Aussage das diese Karte nicht akzeptiert wird. Es gab einen 20 Minutigen hin und her, weil die Bezahlung erfolgreich war. als wir am Strand waren, nach 2 stunden kam sie mit der annullierte Transaktion und verlangte entweder Visa oder Master. ich fand dies eine Schweinerei. Zum Gluck hatte meine Freundin eine Visa. Das Hotel Personal braucht von oben bis unten eine richtige Gastfreundschaftliche Ausbildung. The hotel is very clean. The room is very clean. Each room has a champagne, coffee maker, and refrigerator. Beach towels are provided in the room as well.

We got a great price and I quickly learnt that Tulum isn’t for the economically challenged. When the taxi turn into the road I was shocked by the massive holes created by the rain. Would should have been a 5min drive turned into 20mins. Obviously the hotel has no control over the weather, but communication could have avoided the surprise as well as being prepared for the nausea that came with the bumpy ride. Our first morning was glorious with the sunrise over the beautiful beach. Most of the staff were pleasant but the cleaning was merely a suggestion from their staff. They didn’t change the sheets, the bathroom wasn’t cleaned and the day before my departure, they didn’t even bother to put a pillowcase. Quite an executive decision! Maybe they knew something I didn’t. Overall I felt safe and the sound of the waves crashing into my sleep made it a decent stay.

We absolutely loved the hotel! You walk up the entrance of the hotel and it's open to the ocean, great breeze coming off the water, beautiful hotel! Great staff, very, very comfortable king sized bed. Slept very well! Very quaint hotel that was close to a couple of restaurants, which were phenomenal. We will definitely be back.

The staff were friendly and helpful! I would definitely stay here again. My only complaint is the AC. It only started working on our last night there but the rest of the time it was very muggy on our room. This place is very quiet and away from the main town which was nice. The restaurant food was delicious and the wait staff were awesome!

The architecture of the hotel is unique, excellent exterior design. The room is really spacious, with interesting interior design, large bathroom with both a shower and jacuzzi tub and all the necessities needed for after the shower. Plenty of towels, no need to bring your own for the beach. The restaurant food was really good and the staff very helpful. Very clean in and out of the room. The property has its own beach with chairs, bean bags and kayaks. I would gladly go there again. The only negative I have is about the area around, the road to the hotel is very narrow, bumpy and there was a construction work in the neighboring property with quite some noise during the day.

The room is big and comfortable. The included breakfast was super delicious. The room has “garden view” when I booked it. But you could see the beach and ocean from the room. The hotel also provides the kayak and paddle. boards. All staffs there are polite, friendly and helpful. If you go to Tulum, stay in this nice hotel.

While the hotel advertises free breakfast, the waiter at the restaurant imposes a 15% mandatory tip on the menu price of the breakfast items which are already unreasonably high. Our room also did not have hot water and when I brought it up to the staff members, they said to let the water run for 15 minutes. We’ve tried to do that and still failed to get hot water.

Air conditioner was broken fixed on Tues. but was not fixed had to come back Thursday, still did not functioning properly could not turn up or down or on or off. Breakfast very limited and nothing great. No juice included. Beach small but nice. But ocean water Dark and seagasum seaweed. Love love love Mexico have been coming here for vacations for 40 years, but not so much this hotel. This is not a 9 star place!!! Must have a car!

The sheets were never changed, there was no hot water or water pressure. The area is very secluded and you need a car to get anywhere. Floor was never swept either. The food was also mediocre.

The front desk staff were friendly and did their best to help us but unfortunately it was the owner that was unwilling to provide quality customer service. We booked 8 days at this hotel to join up with family that we had not seen for years. As a Covid nurse, we were more than overdue for a vacation. Within 24 hrs of our arrival, the hotel had lost power and electricity. This problem continued for a majority of the next 2 days. After 2 days, we had to throw in the towel, with family coming from New York, we needed and deserved to have the benefits we had paid for, including flushing toilets, Air conditioning and even lights. We asked for a refund for the remaining 6 nights so that we could relocate to another hotel. The manager asked the owner and Expedia asked as well. The owner refused. We were forced to pay for 8 nights although we only stayed 6, then we had to pay twice that amount to book another hotel on short notice, then also pay a horrendously amount to relocate to another hotel. Our family members flew in 2 days after us and arrived exhausted to a hotel that had no power and we scrambled to book a new lodging. The owner who was off on his own vacation was not sympathetic not helpful. I am certain he would expect better care if his family had been in our position. All in all this vacation cost 3 times what we had budgeted and was filled with stress. What a disappointment!

There was no transparency with currency exchange. Their pricing for meals and drinks I personally thought was too high.

No security, not even a gate. The pool advertised didn’t look appealing at all. It was right in the lobby and looked more like a water feature not meant for people to swim in. Wifi was terrible, on and off. The door was difficult to open and had to wiggle the handle just to open it, had to ask the reception open door for us twice.First night of stay, power went out,no action at all.We talked to reception but he just started speaking Spanish and we couldn’t understand him.The next day,we talked to one of their guests outside and they said the power went out four times already in just a week.We ended up looking for a different place as we want a decent place to stay where we can relax and not worry about having no power anytime of the day.Ended up spending more money and wasting time looking for another place. We feel like we got misled as to what the actual accommodation was like.

The staff were very helpful and attentive. The room was just right. Breakfast included made the start of the day easier. Water and beach area was quiet and secluded; sometimes difficult to find on the Riviera Maya these days as the area has been somewhat overdeveloped. You will want a car to comfortably navigate seeing the sights as staying only at the hotel or walking around would be a little limiting for stays lasting more than a weekend (taxis available at the end of the street. pricing we heard was a little more than you might think). Hotel restaurant doesn’t compete with neighborhood restaurants, buts that’s ok as you can easily walk down the street to eat at some very good and interesting spots. Safety is very good, the road has a full time guard station who checks in every person. Definitely worth paying a visit and enjoying. If you’re a beach person, the water in this area can be a little challenging with waves, current, rocks, and the continuing presence of sargasm, but that didn’t negatively impact the overall visit for us, as we enjoyed the beach anyway.

Picturesque hotel I booked it for my photoshoot. Location is in a more remote part of Tulum not the most accessible but on the upside food was more reasonabley priced than other hotels. The Customer service was above & beyond.

If you want to be right along the water and don't care about being away from the town center, this is the perfect place. If you want to be walking distance or a 5 min drive from everything in town, pick somewhere else because it is off the main road about 15 min away. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay because I mainly wanted to relax and chill out.

Das Hotel befindet sich ziemlich weit von Tulum und es wird kein Shuttlebus oder weitere Transport Mitteln in die Stadt zu kommen, nur Taxi, das total überteuert ist. Es ist sehr unpraktisch und ärgerlich. Daher würde ich dieses Hotel nicht empfehlen und für das Geld einen nähe zur Stadt suchen.

The road to the hotel from the main road was in bad condition and really bumpy

We really enjoyed our stay at Cielo Maya. Great breakfasts and really excellent service in the restaurant at all times. Front desk was very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was very good. But extra for oranfe juice and chicken was extra. Room AC was very loud but it worked good. Great sea view. The beach was horrible. No place to walk. The whole front was packed with seawee.. steps foe pier to the water which was very slippery. The front desk staff was excellent. We felt safe throughtout the area. Overall Tulum wasnt as good as i thought. Would never come back
