The hotel was just ok. The elevator was not working which was a problem for me especially because I had Ubers waiting for me. They need to get the elevator fixed and there was no attempt made to do so.

Good stay, great sleeps in a very dark room. Comfortable bed and pillows. Staff helpful when asked. Rooftop pool is tiny! Pictures make it look a lot bigger than it is. But a good hotel stay nonetheless.

Absolute dump. The pool was a rotten green colour and out of use and the rooftop bar was never open when it should've been. Our room window faced a brick wall and was very rough around the edges. The only saving grace were the valet staff and the guy working behind the bar. It was nothing whatsoever like the pictures.

My stay was far from ideal. The escalator was out of service, and the elevator moved at a frustratingly slow pace. Shockingly, some windows in the room had visible bullet holes, which raised serious safety concerns. The third-floor hallway was wet and slippery, and to top it off, the air conditioning failed during my visit. Overall, the experience was disappointing and unsettling.

Was pretty new looking inside. Was kinda confusing that you need a key card to get into the lobby, which is good unless you haven’t checked in yet. The pool was closed so we were a bit upset about that but it was a maintenance issue. Short walk to Minute Maid so that was nice.

Soon as you walk through the entrance door, it’s smells like sewage, getting the room thru this third party app and not knowing what your room will look like is not cool. My boyfriend and I picked a king size room, but when we got there it was no view just a window facing a wall, that was wack, I advised the staff as my key wouldn’t unlock the doors to the roof top, about my room she said she would see what she could do, and she said she get us another key card, well yeah she never contacted us… traveled far just to not get a window view and stared at a wall the whole time I was there in that room…. Room 801 no window view just a wall

Was looking forward to a weekend getaway. Had tickets to the Astros game for Saturday night. Check in was uneventful with very nice people working. Valet was a hoot. Got room keys and off we go to our room. Exit the elevator on the 3rd floor and you are greeted to the very pungent aroma of marijuana being smoked somewhere in the vicinity of our floor. Got to the room and the smell had permeated into the room. Sheets and pillows smelled of it, towels as well. By the end of the stay the clothes in our suitcases smelled of it. I was concerned about driving home on Sunday because there was no way a cop wouldn't think my wife and I weren't stoned out of our minds in the event we got pulled over. We notified the front desk but I'm sure little to no effort was put into locating the culprit. Large signs in the lobby another located by the elevator and a card in the room all stating no smoking property. I was young once I liked to party as much as the next guy but I was a little more discreet when I was smoking a joint. Overall the property was nice and the staff was great however I will stay somewhere else from now on. A few bad apples have spoiled it for me!

The property was ok! Great location, many restaurants in the area. Pictures are misleading, pool is extremely small and not very inviting for guest, poorly maintained. Several leaks throughout the building, resulting in an awful smell throughout the hallways due to wet carpet. Staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Met some prostitues in the lobby, very interesting experience. Bullet holes in the window. Might want to repair that Aloft! Next time I visit Houston, I will definitely be choosing a different hotel.

The hotel staff did not clean the room nor did they leave any fresh towels. When I asked for fresh towels I was told that I needed to come down to the lobby to retrieve them Also one of the elevators was not working so it would take a good 20 minutes to get to and from the room. We stayed in July for a single night to catch a Houston Astros game. This hotel is a great spot for this reason, as Minute Maid Park is around the corner. My main concern for the low review was cleanliness. Our sheets and bed were covered in small bits of hair, resembling that of beard sheddings. Our sheets also contained a small pink-brown-hued spot. We only noticed this right before bed, upon our return from the game and late dinner (we never touched or sat on the bed when we first checked in, as we quickly changed and left for Minute Maid Park). We called the front desk (~1:00 AM), requesting a change of sheets. The employee mentioned that "they were the only one there, and to please be patient" as they were balancing all sorts of requests. After 30 minutes of no action, I decided to head downstairs myself to ask this request in person. The front desk person was there, loitering in the back office. Upon seeing me, I asked about my room\'s request. The employee seemed flustered and slightly surprised as if they had possibly forgotten. They quickly scrambled to a side room, left of the elevators, where they then handed me clean sheets and clean covers. Overall, for this reason, my stay was mostly poor. If you do stay here, I recommend you take a good look around your room and complain if you find anything not to your standards.

The hotel gave us a room on the 5th floor the widow was facing a brick wall 👀👀 There was a painting on the wall that fell off in the middle of the night scared me to death. The elevator stopped working and the computer system shut down and they have no idea when the home will come off my card.

As always, our experience at Aloft Houston Downtown was pleasant overall, and we appreciate the warm hospitality your team consistently provides. However, I did want to mention that during this particular stay, we encountered an issue with excessive noise outside our room, which unfortunately made it difficult for us to rest. Despite our efforts to relax, the noise repeatedly woke us up throughout the night. We had a room with a window that faced a building so we essentially had no window at all. It had a very weird lay out and a tiny tv for the size of the room, and they charge everything to your room if you want something downstairs.

Front desk and bartender were sooo nice when I arrived a little early! The vibe is nice and chill. Felt very safe. As I left my room the next day, the person cleaning the room next to mine asked how my stay was and the condition of my room, seemed to take pride in my good review of the room. Will stay again!

Upon trying to check in, their software was down & after a couple of hours, they manually checked us in with pen & paper. We checked in on Friday & checked out on Monday. We never received a room key & had to be escorted to our room each time. The air conditioning wasn’t working properly & had to get up several times during the night to start the a/c. We were never offered clean towels. Only one time did we have hot water in shower. The pool wasn’t open & bar wasn’t open. I can say though that the people at the front desk were very kind, as I know they had no control over it. We were told upon checking out that we should get refund or points but haven’t heard from anyone!

I enjoyed the property, my issue is with valet. I waited over 35 minutes after my retrieval request and gave up after 40 minutes, which is when I received the new notification that my vehicle had been brought to me. I came down in person and waited and by 12:46am, I’d already been waiting 35:01 minutes (which I have screenshots for). I was given a number to the manager George and when I called, he laughed in my face and hung up and then didn’t return my call. Unfortunately, I have no other way of contacting or getting the attention of the hotel or valet unless there’s a negative review, since my attempts in person and on the phone have been unsuccessful.

Checking in was no satisfactory. The hotel had to switch us 2 rooms, first room not clean at all. Then, the second room the heat did not work. I was told I can check in early for a small fee. When arriving at the hotel, they already given up the room. I was disappointed due to, I flew in to go to a conference and was delayed. I missed the whole day of the conference. Overall, my stay was very convenient and close to the convention center. I did enjoy my stay and may reconsider. Thanks!

We loved our stay at Aloft! It’s in a great location and the king room is spacious with a great sized bathroom as well. We enjoyed the rooftop pool and found the drinks to be reasonably priced. The only issue we found is that the air flow in the room was not ideal, leading it to be fairly warm at night. We may have needed to turn the air down much cooler. Otherwise everything was clean, felt updated and well-maintained and in great walking distance from activities in the area. Would happily stay again!

Couple staying for one night. Close, walking distance, to the Hobby Center and the theater district. Lots of food choices close and on the way to the theater. Valet was quick and friendly.

I travel for work half the month and will not be staying at aloft. I requested a double queen room and when I walked in, noticed my view was a brick wall. The manager and staff informed me they can switch my rooms but views are limited. The staff never got back to and even told me they do something for my troubles. I never received anything. When I booked the room , I added breakfast and told the front desk person I would like to order food. They told me I don’t have breakfast and I had to call hotels.com and have them call the front desk to inform them I had breakfast. I ended up getting charged 50$ for breakfast and even one day was not able to eat because there was none in the kitchen to make breakfast. I told the manager to cancel my order because I was going to be late for work: Overall, I am not happy with the quality of the room because there NO NATURAl light whatsoever coming in: the customer service is terrible and nobody follows up with their promise. I called to get the breakfast adjusted yesterday and was promised a new receipt and I am yet to obtain that. You have to call multiple times and follow up, which I do not have time on a business or leisure trip for that matter! Save your money and go somewhere else.

I should have read the reviews prior to booking. All the problems others had was exactly what happened to us. 1 elevator working along with the service staff filling it with their carts?? Valet was horrible- they only had 1 gentlemen working! And why have a bar- if it was never open. When I questioned the front desk- she was soooo rude and proceeded to tell me the bartender called in?!? Seriously! All she did was hand me a managers card!? The price was good but service alone convinced me to never stay there again!!!

Our bathroom was a handicapped with toilet and shower is same stall so the water ran down tj the toilet slipped going to the toilet and fell Then water started running into the dressing part of the bathroom people beside us was so loud elevator was slow as hell Internet said restaurant but there wasn’t one Just not happy at all

It was good overall, but can do with some maintenance and more comfortable bedding. The pillows were pretty uncomfortable, the safe in the room was out of batteries, and the toilet was leaking. On-site dining would be great, too! Besides that, staff was amazing, very responsive, and helpful.
