Best Western Plus New Orleans Airport Hotel

Description is misleading. It’s a long way from the airport- and needs a taxi/uber, which is $20-$50 more depending on time of day. Can’t walk it - unless you fancy walking through a swamp along a highway with no sidewalk. It’s next to the OLD airport. Hotel itself is fine. Older property that hasn’t been updated. Airport shuttle isn’t - they do the pickup/drop-off to/from the rental car shuttle service location, abd doesn’t run at night.

Property was clean, parking lot well lit and the check-in process was smooth and easy. We did not try the breakfast since we left early for a flight

The staff were really nice and friendly. The breakfast was mid. Everything is unflavored: white bread, plain bagels, vanilla yogurt. Also, it was almost all carbs. In the room, the bed was surprisingly comfortable for a hotel bed. The downside was the AC unit. The unit wouldn't kick on until the room was incredibly hot, and then stay on until it was incredibly cold. The worst part of the stay was the pool. We specifically came for a pool day, and the pool was filled with bugs, both alive and dead. There were dead bugs backflowing out of the skimmer. Also, there were so many water bugs that it looked like the pool was painted black.

Good hotel. Inexpensive. My one complaint is the airport shuttle only runs to the OLD airport terminal. You have to catch a shuttle bus from there to the new terminal. So it’s not really convenient and you must budget an extra 30 minutes.

We have started to stay here for the Parking benefits as well as having a nice clean place to spend the night before traveling.

Service was very good, room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was great. However, I booked this because it says that it has an airport shuttle. The shuttle goes to the off-site car rental. From there, you walk another 1/4 mile to the remote parking and get the airport parking shuttle from there. Return, do the opposite, then call for the hotel shuttle.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very peaceful with a very nice fitness center. Having a continental breakfast was a great pleasure as well.

There was no toner in printer and the staff gave a they didn’t care impression. All but one chair at pool was broken literally need to be thrown out. However, room was super clean. Some easy fixes I believe and would be great stay

The pool had some sitting chairs but only 2 lounge chairs. Both of which were ripped and not safe to lay on. And the Airport shuttle was the front desk worker (although she was very nice), she could only drive us to the rental car shuttle because she was the only one in duty. There we had to transfer to the rental car shuttle that took 20 mins to make a loop on a drive that was only .5 miles.

All in all the hotel was pretty decent. The only issue we had was with the pool. It seems that they don't take any pride at all of their pool. I don't think anyone cleaned it the couple days we were there. We had to skim off the bugs on top of the water each time we got in the pool, and it wasn't vacuumed at all. There were only two lounge chairs and they were both broken! We had no issues at all thought with the hotel or our room. Cold AC, clean room, good breakfast in the morning.

We greatly enjoyed our stay in a beautiful spacious handicapped accessible room. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

I was scheduled to stay for two nights however, after the first night I noticed I woke up with bedbug bites. When I notify the staff that I would be checking out a day early, they were unwilling to give me a refund for the second night that I did not stay.

Room was dirty with dirty footprints in bathroom. I immediately left and demanded a refund. N bee seen anything like that before.

Everything was dirty/dusty in this hotel. A/C was dusty and dirty. No comforter on top of the bed, only a duvet cover and blanket, pillows were not firm and felt like they needed to be replaced. Towels had hair on them, and shower needed to be deep cleaned. I wiped down everything with Lysol wipes and Clorox and used all of them.

Staff was friendly and knowledgeable able area. Room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was well stocked.

Pretty clean, no issues, although there were hairs stuck in several of our towels/washcloths. Maybe just a one-off, but not a bad experience overall.

Convenient to airport. Everything is usually fine. This trip there were stains on the bedding, tv remote was so sticky I had to wrap it in Kleenex just to use it, large water marks on the ceiling and NO HOT WATER. Breakfast is 6:30 to 9:30. I usually don’t do breakfast but this stay I did. I went down at 7:30 to eat. There were no eggs so I asked the front desk if they would be putting more eggs out and the guy behind the desk said I just did and I responded saying well there aren't any eggs. Again he said I just put them out. I said ok and walked away thinking I’m so over all of this. The guy behind the front desk hobbled out with his cane saying “ma’am I was just kidding”. Anyway I should have just said no thank you and got something to eat elsewhere because the eggs were floating in a lukewarm water bath and the sausage was cold. I liked the orange juice. I only stayed one night and I would have asked for another room if I wasn’t already exhausted and sleep deprived. I told the front desk about all the issues in the room, turned in my room key and left thinking; damn this hotel was so convenient to the airport and other places I needed to get too and now I will be looking for another hotel stay when traveling to New Orleans.

I found two ticks in the bed. Owner said sometimes service animals leave them behind

Very quiet, rooms were as always, quite clean.

Staff are wonderful and go out of their way to help. The building is a bit dated tho. Hard mattresses and old TV’s. The sink drain in our bathroom was very slow to drain and the shower had weak pressure. The rooms also have a Keurig but we couldn’t use ours as it looked like it had never been cleaned (had a used pod in it and was full of coffee grinds). Breakfast was edible.

The hotel was decent, although you could probably find better for the money. Room was clean. Bedding was clean but not very comfortable. The walls are paper thin and i was kept awake by the person in the next room snoring. The breakfast consists of a decent coffee machine, a juice and yogurt machines that were not working properly and put out overly sweet and sour product. The breads did not taste fresh. The eggs looked like powder patties. The waffles were good but the machine kept jamming up. During this time no one could be found manning the desk to ask for help with the machines. We ended up going to the Waffle House down the street the last morning for a real breakfast. I will not stay here again.

The lady who checked me in was very courteous. She welcomed me when I approached the desk and was very social. She offered me an airport shuttle and wake up call. Check in was easy and quick. Property was clean and decor was modern. The bed is very firm so if you like a firm mattress you will love it here. Also, there were no USB plugs in the room which surprised me as everything is USB these days. Wifi was excellent.

The Airline Hwy Best Western is my go to hotel for New Orleans visits -- I usually stay there at the beginning and end of my trips to Nola. Rooms are clean, price reasonable, decent free breakfast, easy parking, safe place to stay. A few cons include: sometimes others staying at hotel are noisy into early hours, and the corner of the room where you put your suitcase does not have enough lighting (rest of the room is fine). Overall I recommend.

The hotel is good, but the room has a continuous noise like it is not to a big furnace.

It was a decent hotel, but we wouldn’t choose to stay there again. Right beside a truck rest stop, one trucks generator was so loud we struggled to fall asleep for a 4am wake up the next morning.

It was a good 1 night hotel stay, but rooms look outdated

They could at least use better building materials to at least sound proof the rooms. Kind of hard listening to your neighbors when trying to sleep.

Convenient to airport. Easy parking for long term stay. I wasn't sure about that but my car was fine when I got back. Bed was hard and uncomfortable.

The room was decent and spacious. TV wasn’t working at first but after a few troubleshooting tips from front desk it finally came on. Front desk staff at check in and check out were VERY RUDE!! At checkout the guy REFUSED to give me a receipt for my staff, only telling me it’ll be emailed to me later in the day. If you’re a Best Western Rewards member none of your extra perks will be offered here. Breakfast was offered 6:00-9:30a but didn’t try it.

Arrived on a Saturday. Very surprised at the lack of heavy traffic on the road way. Staff at the front desk very helpful. Room was large clean , stocked with towels cups coffee machine, just about anything you need. A/C so cold had to turn the temp up. Comfortable bed, lots of light. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location. Close to airport and where we needed to be. Well lit with gas station and restaurants close by. Drove 14 hours. Realized I wasn't going to be there by 11 and had a late check-in. Called the hotel in advance and they were accommodating. Arrived at about 2 am but service was great. Easy check in, staff was very friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Plenty of electrical outlets, comfortable pillows, bed was firm and a little tall but great otherwise. Bathrooms were clean, showers were wonderful. Breakfast was good. Plenty of options. Everything was great. Problem came when we decided to check out early to avoid the same 14 hour drive that we had coming down on the way back. The booking was prepaid and hotel advised that there was nothing they could do because I booked through Hotels.com. I called Hotels.com and they contacted the hotel and were told it was the hotel policy and there was nothing they could do because it wasn't booked through them. If I had known the 14 hour drive was so brutal, I would have booked differently. We ended up paying for staying there for the last night and also staying at a different hotel for the same night just to make it home safely. We'll need to come back down in August and will now be looking for another hotel instead of staying here again.

Not the best neighborhood. Hotel was pretty clean. Good price. A few cosmetic issues with room (loose/missing towel bar, white patched Sheetrock hole). Overall good basic hotel for price.

Front desk was great. We got in after midnight & a large party walked in just ahead of us but the woman at the front desk was so quick that we were in our room in no time. Area was industrial but it was fine for us since we were site seeing at various places. And also a big plus was it being so close to the airport.
