Hyatt Place Edmonton West

This Hotel does not have enough elevators. We were on the sixth floor and it was terrible waiting for an elevator every time we needed one. The cleaning staff all use them too and there is only two. I will not stay here again.

I would definitely stay here again. The staff was friendly, rooms were clean, nice restaurant/lounge with great hours, and pool/hottub was nice to hang out in.

This is a very nice hotel. The beds are so comfortable with pillow tops, and the room was quite spacious. The restaurant and bar offered a good selection. The fitness centre is open 24 hours which is a real bonus and the pool is open until 11 o'clock. It would be nice if from 9 to 11 was only for adults.

Staff are really friendly, breakfast is fantastic, beds are comfortable, it’s central - good home away from home when travelling with family and pets. Only downfall in my case - It’s a busy, busy hotel with lots of young families so the pool is always full - hard to do lengths if you are a swimmer.

Great stay, only issue I had was the laundry facility on the 5th floor. Dryer took way too long to dry a small load of laundry.

Great Customer Service! LADIES were amazing! Pool was cold but, whatever. Room service was great! Food was great!

Nice clean hotel.

Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were pleasant and approachable. The pool and hot tub were very full in the evening (aprox 40 people), but completely empty in the morning when I went to do laps. The hotel was very quiet (probably cause all the kids were tired from playing in the pool ). All in all, a very good experience.

Very comfortable and quiet place to stay around lots of places. They’re doing construction around the area so it’s kind of annoying to get to, but otherwise it’s great. Staff were very nice and accommodating. The only thing I had to complaint was that a hand towel was in the room and there was hair on it and the room had just been cleaned. And in the bathroom, there was hair and it didn’t look like it was clean very well either. Otherwise, the room was clean and except for those things I wouldn’t mind staying there again. Adding that it was a very busy weekend.

For a signature property the room was less than desirable. Pubes on the walls in the shower, wallpaper falling off the wall and the shower tile had been painted and was peeling and sticking to our feet.

Clean rooms, great amenities

Breakfast has a good selection. Though this morning I noticed some pests; fruit flies hanging around the food. Somewhat noisy with 100 Ave NW traffic. Good rooms. Clean. Spacious. Comfy beds.

TV was not working properly, colour was off. Toilet kept "running" intermittingly throughout the night.

Everything was great, except for the shower that fled the bathroom since there was no barrier in between

Weekend stay while visiting the mall. Easy drive to and from West Ed. The hotel is quiet, clean and had everything we needed. I felt the bed was a little too soft for my liking....never noticed this in proor visits. The Hyatt is always my first choice to stay when visiting Edm if the price is right.

Nothing fancy, but overall good stay for an over night. Rooms not very sound proof. Clean room and supplies.

Room was good condition but a bit small and bed was too soft, sofa bed was too springy. TV picture quality was okay but not great. Breakfast and breakfast room was wonderful. Pool area was clean and well maintained but a bit cold.

The rooms were spacious and good. A bit chilly in there.

Room is nice, but I wish the bathroom door was solid wood instead of fogged glass.

Disappointed with this hotel and to be honest the staff. The photos certainly make this hotel appear better than it is. Breakfast is poor, bland and lacking suitable variety. I found staff unwilling to help and lacking empathy. I wouldn't book again and would advise others to do the same.

Something started burning in hallways at 2:30am and started to seep into the room. My husband has asthma so i called the front desk to see if there was a fire or anything. They didn’t get back to me. I called again and they just said sorry to hear ma’am. So I had to put towels to the base of the door and spent the night keeping an eye on husband and daughter’s breathing. There was also a loud bass sound that started around the same time. Would not recommend if you actually want to sleep.

You know when you head to the pool that has eight people in it, and find only two towels, there are going to be problems. Alas, Hyatt Place has gone down that common road of badly understaffing, and it affects nearly every service they offer. The restaurant concept they are trying to explore is more or less their lobby with a few tables. The server? The front desk employee. So what happens when 12 people show to check in, and there are multiple dinner guests, and there is no bartender, nor extra water jugs for tables? The answer is both predictable and a little sad: the experience just wasn't a great one. Why is there only one water jug? A fellow at the bar asked for an Old Fashioned. Answer: "I don't know how to make one." Well, if you can't make an Old Fashioned, one questions whether you really have a bar at all. You appear to have the spirits for it. You have the Internet. Go look it up. The room was fine, though the AC unit doesn't let you keep the fan going all the time. It has presets that turn off once the 19 degrees are reached, then turn on when the temp hits 19.1, So, the AC is constantly going on and off if you are looking for cool air. Breakfast was bedlam. The complimentary breakfast was fine in terms of quality, but the lack of staff struggled to keep up with the demonic hoards crushing all-you-can-eat waffles. The Hyatt is fine... but only just. Quit cutting corners with staffing. There are better hotels for the same price on this strip in West Ed.

I was extremely disappointed to discover there was a $25 early check in fee. The front desk confirmed my room was available but couldn't check in early without paying the fee. Bad business, extremely poor costumer service all around and I won't be back.

Amazing service at the front desk!

We booked through Expedia and showed up and there was no reservation for us , we had both the itinerary and confirmation numbers and a paid receipt but the staff was unable to help us even after numerous calls to the hotel from Expedia, we ended up leaving and went down the street to a different hotel and zero problems and cheaper, never staying at the Hyatt again.

Great service

Lack of billing transparency. Booked a pet friendly room as website stated Dogs Allowed. Was not informed of an additional $100 fee!! Were only advised upon check in. Front desk staff were terrible. Asked to have the room cancelled and money refunded so we could find a hotel with a reasonable pet fee front desk staff were rude and refused to assist. No supervisor or manager available for more than two hours! We’re given the choice of walking away from the $165 we paid for the room or paying the extra $100. Absolutely ridiculous.

The check in staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and nice. Enjoy staying here when in Edmonton.

Reasonably priced for the area. Close to west Edmonton mall. Have a restaurant on site was nice.

Noth8ng must within walking distance

Clean room, friendly staff! Breakfast was pretty good. Lots of restaurants nearby. Close to west Edmonton mall.

This was a nice safe and clean hotel with great service. The only downside is there isn't really anything within walking distance but as I was there for a quick work trip that was fine with me.

It was a full house on the weekend, but still was able to get full breakfasts on our 3 day stay. Plenty of options.. Rooms where very nice , especially for the price I thought. Would stay here again for sure.

This is a modern hotel and the rooms are quite lovely. Front desk staff was very helpful. They had a bunch of fun candy/chocolate/chip options for sale at the front desk, which is always a nice touch. Hotel bar/restaurant was convenient to have right there. Breakfast was really good! Huge lineup but that’s to be expected. Would stay here again for sure.
